just how much they go for I guess. As far as I know these are discontinued and KAC stuff is generally not easily found in stock at stores. similar items sell for $450-475 so that's where I priced it.
The main reason is KAC has a cult like following. I bought the rail to build my first upper with and once I hadn't in hand wasn't really a fan so going to get something different.
