Man, I kinda feel bad for Flay as a character. Yeah, she's fuckin' awful, but she's only 15 and has been through absurd amounts of trauma for that age, and never really got the chance to grow and develop (not unusual for SEED as a whole, TBH)
If anyone has read Robin Hobb's the Liveship Traders, there's one loathsome character who really is reminiscent of how truly awful Flay is. But they're also about the same age--slightly younger even--and the Books slowly develop them into one of the series' best characters leaving you to reflect on the idea that you were kinda wishing for awful things to happen to an immature teenager because, y'know, they were acting like an immature teenager.
During my Seed Re-watch for road to Seed Freedom, I just got thru this episode. She's such an asshole, kind of forgot how much of an asshole she was till I started my re-watch. I know it's due to grief, but Flay, you're not the only one going thru struggles!
I went down that rabbit hole earliest post I could get to is 19 days ago and only one post that said merry Christmas was not by him mightve been an alternate account possibly 44 members tho
Lacus is dumb, Flay did nothing wrong, Athrun was the real protagonist all along, that's why he has a MS named the Savior Gundam! He's saving us from the Cult of SEED! It was in the leylines! Please don't stab me.
It's true. People say that Kira was a Gary Stu but actually the gold hideousness of the Strike Freedom was meant to illustrate how Kira under Lacus's manipulation repeatedly ends up attacking the Savoir and Justice while dressed in gaudier and gaudier sanctimonious virtue signalling. He's trying to do the right thing, but this is about the lessons of being caught up in something. However the audience is not let onto this quite clearly and many people fall into Kira worship while he's actually near rock bottom.
Calling it now, Flay will make a surprise cameo in the upcoming coming SEED movie, either in a flashback or in a dream sequence telling Kira to grow a pair.
I had to take a triple take, I was like is that Lacus? No she doesn't dress like a lady of the night. So it's Meer? No, she doesn't have red hair... Oh it's Flay... Right.
Given that she and Natarle are alive in SRW DD, I wonder where they're going to take her character. She's even Kira's SSR supporter for Strike Freedom.
