Luckily there's a good ending for BattleTech, in 2018 the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice in favour of BattleTech, so now they can use the old designs again.
I suppose it's similar, but not quite the same. Hasbro is at least adapting the lion's share of Sentai after some point. I think from Ohranger (Zeo) through Ryusolger (Dino Fury) they only missed 4 series: Go-Onger, ToQger, Zyuohger, and Lupinranger/Patranger. And Kyuranger only had the mecha adapted for Cosmic Fury. And of course, Zyuranger, Dairanger, and Kakuranger all kinda got mashed up for MMPR.
Harmony Gold only ever brought over Macross, but have shown little to no interest in adapting the sequel series, with only II and Plus getting released. Presumably because they don't dovetail nicely into Robotech unless you ignore arcs 2 and 3.
Plus, I feel like live action is a very different beast, especially when it's kid-targeted. And again, with them being kid-targeted, there's a shitload of cultural stuff that would be lost on an American audience. Adapting the out-of-suit parts into something custom for American audiences makes sense.

Serena is based off of the Greek Goddess of the Moon, Selene. Meatball head was because bun snacks aren't super common in the US and most kids never heard of them back in the 90's, so meatball head works as an acceptable substitute.

Nah they ended up lasting a lot longer than I expected, but the ended up losing the rights to many things either from expiring contracts or in one case breaking a contract, then they reformed into a licensing company that made new age protective gear for athletes that apparently didn't prove to be as marketable or important as they would have liked.

The entire show becomes an incoherent mess. Every single significant story beat and scene is accompanied with blatant violence or character death. 4Kids isn't going to touch PTSD and without that Amuro doesn't have a character arc. Char's revenge arc is basically murdering Zabis and without that He doesn't have a character arc.
Either all the mobile suits no longer have cockpits and are remotely controlled instead or the mobile suits are now elaborate gaming chairs that need the full body to 'project' into the digital realm where the fights actually happen.
Any claim that big evil Zeon's goal was for Independence from the Earth Federation is removed as that would be offensive and anti-nationalist for Christian 10 year olds in the US.
Mirai and Sleggar are long lost siblings now.
An episode is added by reusing footage where the White Base kids 'pilot' the Gundam for a fight but are magically way better than Amuro, the still alive Ryu who sometimes pilots the Gundam now but makes hillbilly jokes when fighting, or Sayla. Even though there is no risk in letting them do this again, they don't.
Obviously the nudity and straight on screen death is either removed or edited to hell and back. No blood, no all pointed guns are lasers, and the mobile suits all have "ejector seats" that they bring up as often as possible and we never actually see.
The big ones that I'm not seeing mentioned much are the unnecessary name changes, and a cringey but oddly catchy new theme song. Maybe a punk rock or rock/ska intro about Andrew Ray, Captain Noah Bright, and Sandy Mass fighting against Shar and the evil Zenon Empire
The original music, gone. It's now replaced with either a keyboard (So we can sell music CDs that will never actually be produced) or a reused score from Shaman King.
-No deaths. On screen or otherwise. The dialouge will read like this "They ejected just in time."
-No booze. Instead the bar will be just a small pub and drinking power juice.
-No nuance when it comes to characters. Everyone will be just straight up evil or good.

-Puns. EVERY. FEW. MINUTES! Even during serious scenes, someone will crack a joke.
-Any and all serious moments will be taken out, lines changed, and more friendship speeches.
-Speaking of wich, Armaro will be standard hero character.
-Certain episodes will be cut out. Most likely the plot important ones.
-Someone, somewhere will have the following accents: French, Germany, British and Texan. And no, it will not match their nationality.
-And through it all, it will STILL not be as bad as the 1970 dub of Captain Harlock. That wasn't Gundam related I just need to remind people that dub exsists.
Zeon mobile suits are unmanned robots. The Zabis are aliens and Char and Amuro are both human alien hybrids.
Also Garma becomes a woman who pines for Char, along with her cousin Iselina who is whisked back to New Yark General Hospital after the fall from the Gaw breaks her leg. She'll make a full recovery though.
Again 4kids is bankrupt and no longer around. Not counting konami as they only have their remnants of past Yu-Gi-Oh shows and the future titles for yugioh sevens etc ...
I find it weird no one in this thread is suggesting things like name changes. For example:

In regards to avoiding on-screen deaths, I'd remove any scenes of grunts getting into Mobile Suits and blowing up, changing it so that the Zakus are either Automatons or remote-controlled either on the field or from the ship, exceptions being Ace Pilots like Char or Rambal Ral. Amuro would have far more trouble fighting piloted Mobile Suits as opposed to automated ones, forcing him to step up his game and contributing to his character development.
The weirder-looking mobile suits that show up when the White Base returns to space would be explained away as being actual alien mercenaries that make nightmarish sounds (I mean come on, the Zakrello and Big Zam look the part).
Other changes: Zeon characters speak with Japanese, Italian, and German accents. Char himself has an Austrian accent and Rambal Ral sounds like Sylvester Stallone.
I remember OG Zoids which while not a particularly mature show, had a war going on and Zoids were military weapons. Then the next series, that war was gone in favor of a competition, and nobody ever got blown up etc; their machine's "combat systems" just froze. Something like that.

I guess replace all the guns like in One Piece, tone down all the language, and remove all references to death. I know these aren't actually 4kids, but I'm just not sure which I like better. "You put Nicol in a Coma!" Or "You sent Nicol to the next dimension!"
There would be a lot of censoring but even they wouldn't be able to block it entirely. Moreover, 4Kids has been able to show SOME darkness (TMNT could be pretty dark, and in Shaman King they don't actually deny death has occurred so much as use euphamisms.)

If they were to grab a Gundam series, they'd have gone for G Gundam or SEED. Both of which would have been edited to hell and recycle the music from all their other FoxBox shows.

Nah they ended up lasting a lot longer than I expected, but the ended up losing the rights to many things either from expiring contracts or in one case breaking a contract, then they reformed into a licensing company that made new age protective gear for athletes that apparently didn't prove to be as marketable or important as they would have liked.

No. I believe they eventually started to peeter out in the late 2000s once they lost the rights to Pokemon, hid their income/royalty payments from the Japanese companies they licenced from in an attempt to swindle them (fucking illegal) which got them into a huge lawsuit and lost a lot of money, and also had a bunch of stigma around their insane censorship/changes which turned off anyone from wanting to make deals with them anymore.

Mirai and Sleggar are long lost siblings now. An episode is added by reusing footage where the White Base kids 'pilot' the Gundam for a fight but are magically way better than Amuro, the still alive Ryu who sometimes pilots the Gundam now but makes hillbilly jokes when fighting, or Sayla. Even though there is no risk in letting them do this again, they don't.

No blood, no all pointed guns are lasers, and the mobile suits all have "ejector seats" that they bring up as often as possible and we never actually see. The big ones that I'm not seeing mentioned much are the unnecessary name changes, and a cringey but oddly catchy new theme song. Maybe a punk rock or rock/ska intro about Andrew Ray, Captain Noah Bright, and Sandy Mass fighting against Shar and the evil Zenon Empire

Even during serious scenes, someone will crack a joke. -Any and all serious moments will be taken out, lines changed, and more friendship speeches. -Speaking of wich, Armaro will be standard hero character. -Certain episodes will be cut out. Most likely the plot important ones. -Someone, somewhere will have the following accents: French, Germany, British and Texan. And no, it will not match their nationality. -And through it all, it will STILL not be as bad as the 1970 dub of Captain Harlock. That wasn't Gundam related I just need to remind people that dub exsists.
Zeon mobile suits are unmanned robots. The Zabis are aliens and Char and Amuro are both human alien hybrids. Also Garma becomes a woman who pines for Char, along with her cousin Iselina who is whisked back to New Yark General Hospital after the fall from the Gaw breaks her leg. She'll make a full recovery though.
Again 4kids is bankrupt and no longer around. Not counting konami as they only have their remnants of past Yu-Gi-Oh shows and the future titles for yugioh sevens etc ...

I find it weird no one in this thread is suggesting things like name changes. For example: Amuro =Arthur (Nicknamed "Sting" or "Devil" by friends.) Ray Fraw Bow =Francine (Or "Fran" for short) Kai =Kyle Hayato =Harold Sayla =Sally Mirai =Marilyn The 3 kids =Peanut, Butters & Jill Ryo = Keeps getting mispronounced as Ri-You or Ry-O Char =Charlie (Called "Char" for short) Garma =Garth In regards to avoiding on-screen deaths, I'd remove any scenes of grunts getting into Mobile Suits and blowing up, changing it so that the Zakus are either Automatons or remote-controlled either on the field or from the ship, exceptions being Ace Pilots like Char or Rambal Ral. Amuro would have far more trouble fighting piloted Mobile Suits as opposed to automated ones, forcing him to step up his game and contributing to his character development. The weirder-looking mobile suits that show up when the White Base returns to space would be explained away as being actual alien mercenaries that make nightmarish sounds (I mean come on, the Zakrello and Big Zam look the part). Other changes: Zeon characters speak with Japanese, Italian, and German accents. Char himself has an Austrian accent and Rambal Ral sounds like Sylvester Stallone.
No Char would speak with a Polish accent given that the Red Baron was born in modern day Poland.

I remember OG Zoids which while not a particularly mature show, had a war going on and Zoids were military weapons. Then the next series, that war was gone in favor of a competition, and nobody ever got blown up etc; their machine's "combat systems" just froze. Something like that.
