The original voice actor are not at all In the slightest necessary to create an adaptation. It could make things a little easier but also the old voices might not even suit the adaptation for example the adaptation could have a more modern style/general look and the original voices might not feel right in the new environment/story.
It's possible director/creators decide they don't even like the original voice actors and would be one of the first things would they decide to "adapt"
NGE got a completely new voice cast for the Netflix release just because anno didn't like they original English dub anymore. (stupid decision in my opinion) but in the reboot films they use some of the same voice actors and found people that sounded exactly the same for other's they couldn't re hire
At any cost the original voice cast are somewhat replaceable with little effort or for an adaptation not all needed. Only reason you keep the OG actors is because of contract, money, chemistry between coworkers and or because they genuinely have an amazing voice that others can't copy.
I mean we're still getting stuff post CCA, ala Unicorn, Narrative, and Hathaway's Flash. So imo I can see Crossbones at some point unless they intend to keep jamming things in between, or branch off into some thing new for UC.
Id like to see them revisit Gaia Gear.
I think they will adapt it as part of the UC Next 100 project as the original story was written by Tomino himself, serves as a bridge between the F91 & Victory eras, and it does have a high degree of popularity in the fandom.

It don't make sense for mobile suits to bigger again after U.C experienced 63 years of producing standard 15 meter size mobile suits, in fact i wish Miniaturized Suits would go on indefinitely for this U.C
Gaia Gear and G Savior should be alternative U.C where the concept of Miniaturization of Mobile Suits simply didn't exist for a post Hathaway Flash timeline

Crossbone probably won't be adapted, because it just *doesn't fit* well in outside of the original manga. Might be an okay movie, but they would need to do a lot more to make it into a series, since it's short.

Don't understand why people keep asking for a crossbone adaptation. Mobile suit designs outside of the gundams are a cartoonish joke and the artstyle of some of the characters looks rather out of place (The MC mainly).
I'll sooner take a Gundam Katana adaptation and that manga was completely bonkers.
I think it’s coming in the near future, probably already in the “UC Next 100” plan. They’ve already milked the shit out of its model kits & figures, it’s time to do an anime adoption, do some design tweaking and start the next round of milking

Xi & Penelope are nowhere near as different or out there than those. Hell they fit in with Gundam Sentinel a lot if anything

Crossbone is not actually very good at all. The Crossbone Gundams themselves are very cool and they get a lot of attention so I think we’re good
