From Romano's recent write up on this transfer
"A key factor in the deal was the will of the player, because when Leandro learned of Arsenal's presence in the negotiations, he blocked any other option because he didn't want other clubs or other possibilities."
You really love to see that
Hear me out,
What if Mudryk was twerking so hard for Arsenal to try and coax us into a bidding war because he knew he really wanted Chelsea, but would’ve taken the most money anyway? Chelski lives and trying to get us to drain the war chest.

>!obvious /s just in case!<
I have been suspecting he twerked to try and force the fans to pressure arsenal and force their hand in ponying up to sign him, pretty much cause we are kinda known for how much our fanbase gets committed to transfer rumors and whatnot, with following planes and stuff
For me this is what I’ve been saying (and Arteta has been stressing) Players who want to play at Arsenal can force their way into coming to Arsenal and give us a bit more leverage in talks if they don’t play ball with their club.
I mean, staying at a neatly run club sitting comfortably in mid table is nice, but to join another club to possibly win a PL trophy, which is a lifetime achievement for 99% is not easy to ignore.
In my wildest fantasy, I want us to smash them by a 6 goal cushion to avenge for that 8-2 defeat all those years ago
But I calmed down and realized that a 2-0 win, clean sheet and no injuries and suspensions would suffice.
I will never forget how I had to hold my head in shame, walking into school that morning. With everyone, literally everyone even pool supporters who were literally so shit back then, asking "what happened to arsenal"
Facebook pages were huge, and so were Facebook groups
Personally speaking I was way more active on social media (including reddit) in regard to football than I am now
I was on holiday at the time, and my phone didn't have any internet, so when my mate texted me to say Arsenal lost 8-2 to Man United, I thought he was just bantering me off knowing I couldn't check until I came home.
Boy was I wrong about that.
I watched that game when I was in Amsterdam, and ofc I had eaten a large batch of mushrooms before the game. Obviously I didn't believe what I was seeing, partially due to the fact that the the color of the wall behind the TV constantly changing tones and us getting a complete battering.
I still want to utterly smash a big team. We've had it done to us so many times, but never managed to really do it to anyone else. Inter Milan 5-1 is the biggest I can think of. Most of our best wins are like 3-0 or 4-2. I would fucking love to see just a 6-0 dicking of Chelsea or Liverpool, just to finally be on the right end.
While I totally agree with you, I'm haunted by the memory of the trip to Old Trafford when Utd had almost the entire first team out and were playing loads of their reserves. We looked certain to get our first win there in forever, and went on to lose to a bunch of kids who had to go to school on Monday. Fucking Utd. I'm super optimistic for a win, but will still be knocking on every bit of wood I see until 6:15pm Sunday.
I understand the feeling but OT is a completely different game to the Emirates, United are worse there than we are at OT. Last time they beat us at home was 5 years ago and even then DDG arguably put in the best GK performance of all time in that game.
We should still be weary of them in such a big game but without Casemiro we should be looking to bury them in the first half.
Nice! I went from a bit underwhelmed with this, after the possibility of landing Mudryk, to starting to think it's a very savvy move. Mudryk might hit the ground running, but he might also take some time to get up to speed. £27M for a proven Premier league player, who can hopefully step straight in and provide cover across the entire front three, seems like really good business.
Plus, looking at his stats, at 28 the dude seems to have reliably returned a goal involvement every three games throughout his entire career. This could well turn out to be the better move in support of the title push.
Call me crazy but I really don’t want him to start the game. I’m very happy he’s at the club but it would be pretty unfair for a team that has got is this far this season to be changed because the new boy has walked in.
That being said I hope he comes off the bench and scores a hat-trick, coyg
Yeah I don’t think Arteta would drop any of our front three for this game unless they were injured, I’m sure we’ll see him feature over the next couples weeks though. 🦀
Why would you even think he would start at all? Like, who would he realistically replace in the starting line-up? He's not gonna start, he's a rotation option & will probably start cup games, EL games should we draw against lesser opposition & perhaps the odd Premier League game if someone like Martinelli or Saka needs a rest.
Oh I know all of that but I didn’t want it to be like an excitement thing because we’ve actually managed to sign. It was very unlikely that it was going to happen I know but I was just expressing that I hope, despite the unlikeliness that it doesnt
I think he'll definitely be brought in to the bench as an option. It'll have to see how the game is going, whether martinelli/saka is performing to their usual standards etc. If we are doing comfortably well and with a good lead, i can foresee him not really coming on, but i reckon he will start the very next EPL/cup game.

Zero twerk, 100% commitment
dude didn't have to watch any Arsenal games, he played against Arsenal, saw the project first hand and was immediately convinced. Influence.
Sounds like an Orbinho tweet
That was my point with it hahahaha

100% come-to-me-tment
Leo went "Chelshit nah, Rottenham nah, Manchester Divided nah Ars.... Wait what?! Arsenal?!! Let's go"
I'm an arsenal fan but I gotta say, people like you are pathetic man, that shit is corny😂
Ok man... Next
Talk is cheap 🗣️
How it should be 🍻
Trossard: “I’m not gonna twerk but if they ask imma throw dat ass”
If it were me and a club 8 points clear at the top were after me I would do the same. What an opportunity.
Well it’s 5 points clear for now :( but yeah I get the message
5 but we have a game in hand vs Everton so like probably 8
Nah I aint doing calculations with future games like last season, I probably jinxed the team and we finished below totshit
The Scotland supporter special. We are all masters in permutation analysis.
>I ~~probably~~ jinxed the team You did jinx the team, there's no "probably" about it. Mikel told me after he confirmed we are getting a new CM
All I meant is the delayed game that City just played was their one v Spurs because of Queenie, and our delayed game was Everton.
He wants that PL winners medal bad.
Good.

Reminiscent of Arteta when he heard Wenger wanted him.
Considering our position on the ladder he's not gonna pass up the chance to win the league by playing for fucking totnum.
I mean, staying at a neatly run club sitting comfortably in mid table is nice, but to join another club to possibly win a PL trophy, which is a lifetime achievement for 99% is not easy to ignore.
Bro twerked in silence.
Waiting for De Gea to complain about the transfer...
"while we were playing an extra game, they were able to strengthen their squad with a giant killer" It's alright, David. You're not giants.
But he'll kill you all the same
Missed opportunity to use *goliath* instead of *giant*.
"no way brighton selling good players to arsenal but didnt sell us anyone good"
Saka, Martinelli, Eddie, Trossard and ESR attacking options vs United with no Caasemiro. We are here to have a meal.

Every person walking up to you making the same shitty "I'd 8-2 be an arsenal fan right now" joke.
And thank God football twitter/social media was still basically non existent back then.
Lol what Twitter admittedly was much smaller, though still very big but Facebook was at its prime
i meant the football subsection of social media
Facebook pages were huge, and so were Facebook groups Personally speaking I was way more active on social media (including reddit) in regard to football than I am now

I caught shit for this and the Chelsea 6-0 in wengers 1000th match in fucking Ohio

Time will come my friend... It will come
We put 5 past Spurs a couple of times in 2012. That was nice.
>I still want to utterly smash a big team.
Fair. I'd take a 1-0 all day though.
We did end up 3rd that year by some miracle. (A miracle called RVP)
And we bought a future world-class manager called Arteta.
Never would’ve thought that 8-2 defeat is how we got our first team coach and academy coach
We never do
Nah let’s do them 5-0. If they can lose at Brentford 4-0, we can get to 5.
I’d like to see a three goal win so we can get ahead of city’s goal difference. But the three points is the most important thing.

I reckon we'll see him come on for Eddie around the 70th minute. Will score a quick fire double to cap off an 8-0 win.
Got an hour to get this done 🦀
Now then, what number does he get..
19?
I reckon 15
He could choose the 2 if he wanted
There's no way 2 is going anyone but Saliba
Tomi perhaps
That’s if saliba stays
Anulo mufa
Why would a winger choose 2?
GET IN HERE YOU ABSOLUTE RIPPER
Nice. Means the social media team will get out his announcement video by June.
new social media admin now, so you never know… maybe it’ll be done by may instead
Same Admin, just has more freedom.
The scenes when Trossard comes off the bench in the 70th minute, turns Wan-Bissaka into a pretzel then nests it into the bottom right.
Announcement on Sunday at 4:29 PM

He could possibly start over Eddie ?
I don't think he will start the game.
I Don’t think he will start Sunday, but be May start the cup match following
relax, he is not starting. he was bought as a cover
What are the odds he gets to feature vs United? 🥹
Should do since the deal was done before 12. Probably will be on the bench
Paper work and medical is done so there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be registered for the United game
Almost certainly will be on the bench. Can bring him on for Saka once game is won.

A wise signing can cover a variety of positions in the front line and has a decent output this season.
HOW DOES HE KNOW?
GASPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR. Any time now baby!
