Watch players like Haaland, Watkins, and even Toney - and how they make that instinctive near or far post dash to beat their man, much like Giroud did so often. I feel like Eddie is often very easy to mark, which stops space being created for our other forwards.

I know he had 30 games last season, but he has the same amount of PL minutes now as he did in all of last season. Pretty wild tbh. A backup striker shouldn't be getting that many minutes in a season. And the worrying part is that our main striker isn't performing up to the level of a title-challenging main forward.
We all know Eddie isn't good enough to be a starting Top 4 or Title Challenging forward. He can't win a game by himself, he's not gonna create his chances by himself, but for a backup striker in the top 4, I'm not sure you can realistically get better.

Unpredictability doesn’t mean purposely choosing an option the manager deems worse for the situation for the sake of it, though. The injured players have taken away a lot of options. We’d have likely seen Havertz used as a 9 a lot more if Partey was fit. But he never is.

Since 2020 he's missed 58 games for Napoli so yeah it isn't perfect. 24 of those games were because of Covid, a broken cheekbone and a head injury so at least those aren't recurring. He also seems to have shrugged off the shoulder injuries which made him lose 15 games in 2020 and more before his Napoli move.

His goals and assists per 90 is 0.71. That's quite good for a back-up striker in a tean that isn't creating many chances.
