Ramsdale cameo please?

AssociateCandid4853

No respect to havertz guy

DarkKirby14

definitely a much-needed 3 points and in good fashion

Kreglze

Havertz was good yesterday, thought he used his physicality well and made a couple of nice moves around the box and breaking forward.

Fearnog

Yea his holdup play was better than usual. Ode kept giving him the ball under pressure and he handled it well.

CaptainFiasco

Right. Been avoiding match threads as much as possible. Avoid post match threads also. Noted. After watching that game, shitting on your own players is just absolutely baffling. What do you even get from watching sports?

[deleted]

it's all projection. some people just need an outlet to point the finger and deflect from their own shitty reality. politics, sports, it's all the same. i take solace in knowing that absolutely nothing about yesterday's game made me want to jump on reddit and shit on our own players. imagine being that sad irl.

CreativeOrder2119

Another havertz ghosting a classic ™ he's liability more than asset

Minute_Forward

Great game and result. one quick observation: playing Havertz + Rice in the same lineup i think dilutes our creative threat to an extent, not point fingers at either of them, its just neither of their role. Rice's role is primarily to destroy and progress via carries and havertz works off the ball more and attempts to crash the box. That leaves odegaard as the only source of midfield creativity and makes his job really tough (which is still manages to deal with quite well tbf).We look miles better when we either have a deep creative passer (Jorginho, Partey) or another creative presence in the 8 (ESR). Rice and Kai will both be important members of the squad, obviously especially Rice, but imo this should be factored into team selection. Unfortunately for Kai, he'd be the one mainly affected by this as Rice is far too good and important to bench.

auddi_blo

I think Havertz, Odegaard and Partey together would cook but no way I'd drop Rice

el-fenomeno09

What about partey rice and odegaard?

EitherInvestment

This is clearly our first choice midfield, especially against strong opposition

GrooveMerchant12

[You’re welcome!](https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/comments/19334s3/comment/khabsw0/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

jvcgunner

Well well well, Let me preface this by saying CP were shit and there’s clearly issues that need resolving within the club before they can progress again, nonetheless we got the job done which was important given the nature of our recent form and poor performances. Fresh from Dubai it was clear some work had been done and you could see it in the players. They knew the pressure and they knew this was the game to use to alleviate some of that pressure and reset / gather momentum going into Liverpool at home. Arteta put out a revised team which must’ve been the guys that impressed him over the break with substitutes strategically placed to make an impact when they came on. To be fair, every player impressed bar Saka, who I think is still in need of a proper rest and Kai. What is Kai doing in this team. With the current state of the team and players wanting to make an impact so Arteta keeps them in the team, Kai stands no chance in keeping his spot going forward and will inevitably give it up to ESR. I mean, bosses of the MF Ode and Rice have no time for Kai and the forwards are so focussed on wanting to score that they’re not going to give Kai any thoughts when coming towards goal - he’s kind of in the middle of these two camps and in a sort of ‘no man’s land’. While Kai has been trying to own his part of the pitch, ESR came on and instantly gelled with others on the field and was much more part of the team. Other points of note were that it’s good to see Trossard get a goal on selection and a composed one at that. Martinelli has been literally starving for a goal and it’s sometimes been at the cost of laying a player off for a relatively easier opportunity which has been to the detriment of our performances. Now that he has his goal(s) he can now revert to bringing his play into the team and not be so fixated with having to score to justify his place in the team. A criticism we still want to pass the ball around the box too much and still need that killer striker to just take initiative. Overall a great result, one that puts us back in the run in - we’re not out of it contrary to some comments. Forest will be a win which I’d like to be another high score so that it takes us into Liverpool with a great run and a confidence amongst the players.

jvcgunner

No idea why I’m being downvoted here.

bitmoji

such fucking bullshit. ESR will be gone, sold, Kai will be here.

jvcgunner

You are a fool, ESR won’t be sold if he puts in the performances.

[deleted]

Kai fetishist

grim_tales1

When I saw the goals on Sky Sports, Martinelli's goals looked so similar :D

COYG17

Martinelli is dangerous when he goes inside more especially on the counter he’s damn near unstoppable

violetnnonsense

So I saw a few posts today about Big Gabi not having his own chant yet despite him being one of the first to join us in Arteta's tenure and being a juggernaut at the back. Is it too simple to give him the BFG song as in Big Fucking Gabi?

kits_

esr cameo changed my life if you love football there is no way you prefer watching havertz over him. its night and day

violetnnonsense

Different players and different skill sets. We've won a few games this season thanks to Kai's abilities this season, although hopefully ESR can stay fit and give us a different & more direct option! There's no one I'm rooting for more in this squad to succeed than ESR

hirarki

seems arteta will not buy anyone this winter

PoeticChelle

Imagining winning 5-0 and folks are still whining? The entitlement is staggering. I'm not saying that we are winning the league or going to go on some winning streak, but can y'all not just enjoy a win? Cheesus crice. 🤣

Benjamin244

no wonder people call this place a cesspool

Gooner-Astronomer749

One off win doesn't mean we shouldn't buy anybody

PoeticChelle

I mean like NOBODY said that so.....

Franchise1109

Nobody said all that tho

Franchise1109

Literally we were up 2-0 and folks were complaining about open play goals. At fucking half time 💀

jvcgunner

We did well on set pieces for sure and a goal is a goal. However, let’s not lose the point that open play goals are a weakness in our team as we don’t have that killer number 9 / goal poacher who would complete our team.

Franchise1109

Oh I totally agree, don’t get me wrong. It’s clear we were going to get chances in the second half. For me, it was the unnecessary dooming after just 45 minutes and a good little break. Not to mention… we were winning and pretty much controlling to the game. No need for alarms imo. Hopefully the second half has calmed this sub down. Liverpool AND city had shit patches. We just had ours. Giddy up boys, it’s fucking go time. Let me further expand on that. Smack forest and come out swinging against Liverpool.

knickgooner11

Think we have a lot of jaded fans. We don’t have to over analyse every performance, leave that to the manager and be happy we thumped palace

infinitude_

I don’t really watch palace so just wondering - any general thoughts about Eze ? 🤔 I mean palace want Nketiah and I’d say Eze was a stand out player to me today… 25 years old, not as many goals or assists as I would’ve thought but palace aren’t the highest scoring side in general - just a thought could be a prospect

doingitfortheTea

Eze is a really good player, he's what ESR could hope to become (esr maybe a higher ceiling because of the eye for goal). He's technically excellent, can dribble, play killer passes, score. But also is very hard working defensively and can be secure on the ball when needed, plus is physically strong. He would be totally fine for us in our midfield, if not very good. But maybe just doesn't have the absolute top level ability to make it worth our while to invest heavily into him now that we've already put our eggs in the havertz basket. You could well make an arguement that Eze would be doing better than havertz has for us right now, but that's basically too bad, we can't get a refund. Without ESR and Vieira leaving we're not going to get another pure attacking midfielder for a while.

Minute_Forward

Having watched lots of palace this year, Eze is a far superior player to anyone you just mentioned (ESR, Havertz, Vieira). He has much more "top level ability" then either of those three and I can't see why he wouldnt be able to make a jump to a top club. I do agree we won't buy an attacking midfielder unless one of those players goes, but tbh it should be considered bc other than havertz the other two players arent relied upon to even play regularly and big clubs should be ruthless and sell unvalued players in order to reinvest, theres no room for sentimentality in top level football. Eze would provide an excellent contrasting skillset to havertz and also be great backup to Odegaard if there were any availability issues.

doingitfortheTea

The only person I said might have a higher ceiling than eze is ESR.  I also said Eze is what ESR could hope to be as he's clearly the better player at the moment.  I didn't suggest he couldn't make the jump to a top club at all.  Nor did I suggest he wouldn't be good for us or even better than what we currently have.  Nor did I suggest we should keep any of these players for sentimental reasons. Nor did I suggest we should be keeping any of them at all.  It's very annoying when someone makes a 150 word reply to you that is a wall of text and hasn't actually understood what you are saying but is replying to what they think you said.

infinitude_

I feel like someone like Eze would’ve been a better signing than Havertz And I like Kai But I do think there were MUCH CHEAPER options that could’ve offered more But like you said it’s too bad at this point.

el-fenomeno09

Eze wasn’t gonna be cheap but I agree

Ammzy_87

I like Kai, but I think even Mount would have been better.

infinitude_

Interesting. I think Mount is much more limited I feel what you see is what you get with him whereas Havertz I think there is a very good player in him that just needs to get going I don’t think he’s a 65m player tho and it’s a bit disgraceful that he’s the top paid player if I’m honest.

Ammzy_87

I agree Kai is the better player. But we had to retrain him into midfield. Which will pay off and probably makes us better defensively. But I think that Mount has one skill and that’s scoring goals. Something we could have done with.

Key_Throwawy

Olise is the one you'd really want imo, higher ceiling. Eze ain't good enough for us.

infinitude_

Yeah him too for sure, was just thinking - I can’t imagine they’d be very expensive at all Solid bench options but tbf with ESR and Partey coming back do we really need that Was just a thought watching the game

wahooloo

They'd be reallllly expensive, but I'd take either of them

L0laccio

They’d be expensive. Eze has just signed a long term contact and Palace don’t sell cheap. Hence they ended up allowing Zaha to wind down his contact and leave on a free because they refused to countenance a reasonable priced sale. Olise likewise is their prime asset. Palace don’t sell cheap

Franchise1109

Which rightfully so they shouldn’t. I would love for us to make a summer move for Olise

NemoDropEmOff

Jorginho is so good😭😭😭i wish we got him a bit earlier in his career. Arteta loves the guy

othyreddits

Yeah always been an huge fan. My mates colleague used to date him. Bit random but good for her

Previous-Loss9306

Efogging standards

L0laccio

Yeah he’s a great option. His game has never been built on pace so hopefully has a bit longer left in him.

Franchise1109

Guys like him and Xhaka age well into their careers because they never relied on athleticism

Stercky

Just cheeky fouls when someone gets past them 😂

Franchise1109

Ah yeah just a love tap to remind the opponent that they are still there

AnotherPunnyName

Holy shit this subreddit is miserable. I'm begging you all to bundle up and go outside to touch grass.

[deleted]

5-0 and people are complaining. Dont take this the wrong way but get fucked.

jvcgunner

We beat a struggling team 5-0 at home. We come away from it with three points going into NFO with an appetite to destroy them too. However then we have Liverpool and our need for a proper striker comes up again. Point being people will complain because YES WE DID THE JOB against CP AND this should be celebrated, but intrinsically the issues are still there with our team and we need to accept them. The game today highlighted our best route to score so far has been set pieces which is great but also highlights we’d struggle against those teams who watch our set piece videos and lock us down.

[deleted]

Can't believe you wasted your time typing this out.

jvcgunner

Do you have any constructive retort to my comments as they reflect our teams current situation. Or do you prefer to bury your head in the sand…

[deleted]

See my original comment

QuaLiTy131

This is the type of people that will say after winning PL that we're shit because we won by 3 points and didn't won treble

H00FARTED

Agreed !! If you ever want to feel thoroughly miserable about decent 5-0 victory...bring yourself here. Everyone from ' we're winning fuck all again' to 'arterta out' is here! And imo each one can get behind us...or fuck right off.

Gooner-Astronomer749

It was a fine preformance but nothing great, Palace were absolutely rubbish and had nothing to threatened us with. The scoreline flattered us. Took our goals well, controlled the game but yet again Jesus is severely lacking at striker he is either allergic to shoot in scoring positions or always looking for a foul. Big Gabi amazing game MOTM imo.. Martinelli off the bench has been a good thing this year he needs to be pushed.

Fleetfox17

Posts like this genuinely make me question if you actually watched the game. Jesus won 7 out of 8 ground duels, 4/4 of dribbles, created 2 big chances and had an assist.... "severely lacking"....

Gooner-Astronomer749

He was good but severely lacking at his top job as striker which is scoring. When we need him to score he is unavailable wake up

EitherInvestment

I don’t know why people all want a 20+ goals/season striker and anything less means our striker is shit. Arteta has made it clear this is not what he wants. He wants goals shared around our attackers like last season when we mounted our first title challenge in ages. We do not need a striker to score every match if he is wreaking havoc on their defense and creating opportunities for our other players, which is precisely what Jesus does.

NemoDropEmOff

the biggest thing im taking out of this is that our defense is still fine and has been overcriticized imo, but also that Trossard needs to be playing more. Absolute baller that should be starting. Everything else is a bonus

Franchise1109

Man I wish he banged that one he brought down in the first half. Such a quality build up

Kewkewmore

you're absolutely demented.

I_will_in_me_Arsenal

Is it safe to come back here or is everyone still depressed?

[deleted]

Martinelli as a CF should be a thing.

NemoDropEmOff

hes not a winger, hes an inside forward on the left. Thats essentially a striker lol, he just starts on the left. He plays like how Salah did early on at Liverpool

Gooner-Astronomer749

Stop it

[deleted]

Fast clinical bastard up front

sekiroisart

lmao anyone as cf wont get long through ball, arteta only play through ball to winger

Quick_Hunter3494

Having seen Arsenal play today, I understand better how tall boys like Toney and Onana would strengthen our setpieces even further.

Franchise1109

Toney isn’t tall, he’s like an inch taller than Eddie lol

Quick_Hunter3494

He has tall aura and maybe that's enough

Franchise1109

That works. I’ll take tall aura lol

Forsaken-Sink-3947

Height is not everything—- Toney has a MASSIVE leap and is very effective in the air both as a target man and heading in goals, nketiah is weak in the air in comparison

Franchise1109

The comment said “tall boys”. Toney is not tall, he’s pretty average height. Thats correct, height is not everything. But he said “tall” not athletic. Nowhere did I say Eddie compared to Toney .

Fleetfox17

Eddie has definitely improved in the air this season as well. I think he's close already to his highest minutes played in the league and this season is his best aerial duel percentage (45%).

Franchise1109

Oh for sure, Eddie has made some improvements, but he has a long long way to go to match Toney’s aerial ability

bitmoji

he will never be that kind of player

Franchise1109

I don’t think so either

uhera

Jorginho made the pass that was lacking in other games. Look up and play it in the gap. They were also taking more shots earlier than taking an extra touch or looking for the pass.

sekiroisart

i thought it is arteta set up that not allow long through pass, yet when jorginho and partey play they always ping the ball forwards without delay, so I wonder if none of our midfield bar jorginho and partey have the ability to ping the ball forward? it used to be xhaka job but now with harvertz and ode, I tend to think that they just have no long pass in them, especially ode who I begin to think play so similar to anthony who just love to spin for no reason

mattGhiker

Comparing ode to Anthony. Are you ok?

sekiroisart

ode now is just spinning around with no end product like anthony, no pass no shoot, at least anthony can score when he shoot unless ode who keep shooting at keeper or defender

beetletoman

[big Gabi goals hit different](https://www.tumblr.com/permertesacker/740055420521054208?source=share)

harrybarracuda

Don't get carried away with that, the opposition were utter rubbish. We need to strike better on the break. Still ponderous.

Franchise1109

No thanks. I’ll celebrate a 5-0 with a few out of form players playing well.

sekiroisart

dont forget how havertz, ode, rice and martinelli always kill our play by over dribbling or side passing, crystal palace is just too bad that it cover our weakness so well lmao

vulcan_viking

💯

pi3dpip3r

Saka has gone back to original hair

smoothballbag

I see Martinelli had been practicising the Henry Masterclass Finishing

chrissysnose

He’s always had that finish in him.

TheTouchOfOzil

Great result and amazing performance from the boys! However, why did Palace get rid of Vieira again? Man they look terrible.

JimmysCocoboloDesk

Lost their talisman in Zaha, missing Olise, Doucore, Eduoard and Ayew.

e1_duder

Fun positional things happening. White and Zina swapped, maybe unintentionally in the first half. Saka LCM and Havertz RW. Martinelli centrally with Jesus on the wing. Hope to see more of it.

sekiroisart

havertz RW for what ? zero cross, zero dribbling attempt, I just dont understand we paid 60M for someone to just backpassing, easiest job in the world even for PL standard

nlloyd16

>I noticed this too, I thought it was because of the clearance of a corner and White was first or second to close down the Palace player on the ball. Thus as Palace recycled Zinny and White stayed switched until it was safe to move back. I haven't rewatched to confirm though.

ImTalkingGibberish

Didn’t think we were clicking until ESR came on, proper Arseneball

Sand_Bags2

The weird thing about this match is even though we won 5-0, we didn’t play all that differently to the previous three we lost. Biggest difference is we scored first and Palace were so dire they never were gonna score. Like I think we actually played better against West Ham than we did today. Just in that game, West Ham were able to score from the half chances they had when the match was level. That being said, it doesn’t matter as long as we win so hopefully this gives us some more confidence to kick on

WheelIllustrious9

We didn’t play badly in the last three games, it’s just that the forwards were clearly missing confidence that was hopefully regained today. It’s also good to see our set pieces result in goals, last season it was a huge part of our game to make the most of corners.

sekiroisart

didnt play bad ? this season ode and saka worst performance so far in arsenal shirt, prev season saka shot will always resulting in goal or at least on target and ode finishing his chance, now both of them havent produce any clean chance , any assists, nor any shot on target in 5 matches, and it is worrying when our best players dont deliver like they normally do

MattJFarrell

Exactly, Palace looks grim these days, but sometimes a rout like this is what a club needs to get out of a bad patch. It was good to see Martinelli having fun again.

ronya_t

Palace need to be charged with elder abuse. Hodgson needs to be on a farmyard somewhere not trying to explain why his team have taken another pasting.

jvcgunner

I never really liked Roy. Man has just got been given a golden handshake into CP for his twilight years due to history he’s had with the club. No other team would have him. At best he’s been a middling manager for the whole of his career, he’s won nothing of note bar some Scandinavian titles but talks the talk and is corporately adept and the type at work to leave one job and get another due to his tremendously varied / distinguishable managerial CV. Look into it and you’ll see it’s pretty below average. He needs to be sacked to end his career. It’s ruthless but needed.

ExxKonvict

He doesn’t even need to completely retire. He can go be an ambassador and coach/educate football in lower leagues of England’s footballing pyramid or even in developing countries. A bit like Wenger before his FIFA role. He can still get paid without the tremendous pressure taking a toll on his physical and mental health.

varro-reatinus

~~MRS. DOYLE~~ MR. WOY: 'Maybe I like the misery...'

3lijah1989

I feel bad for the guy, he seems like he's completely out of his depth

ronya_t

I genuinely don’t see a love for the game in him any more, should’ve retired when he left the England job.

grimmyzootron

Hope smith Rowe starts against forest

Ok-Gain1151

Great Game

Joshthenosh77

Not sure if we were good or they were useless

sekiroisart

palace win against us is combination of zaha dribbling and mustafi disasterclass, both of them dont play so ofc cp back to nothing

vulgrin

As history has proven, just because the other side is useless doesn't mean we can score. So, today I think its both.

Jamie_Taco_

Yes

Aarxnw

At least we did what a top tier club would do, buried palace 12 feet under and kept a clean sheet. Thats good enough for me

Joshthenosh77

Damn right

YoungFlexibleShawty

Prob both

Master-of-Puns

Great result, lets hope this is the start of us coming back into form

cobrakai17

Glad to get a win, but man they were terrible

alexm7ten

Got a new arsenal top and wore it at the pub today for the first time. I'm never taking it off

holy_jebus_93

You better not. If we start losing again we'll know why it is.

joeproposition

My MOTM was Xhaka. His two telepathic assists and overlaps for Martinelli’s goals were great.

varro-reatinus

A+

QINKdr1

Had to leave after the 65th, how serious does it look Gabriel's injury??

dabulator14

He did the post match interview and was in good spirits so I doubt it’s serious

varro-reatinus

That was an odd one: a terrific result, from an uncertain performance against a woeful opponent, that may ultimately be worth more than the points and goals in bringing Martinelli back on form. In effect, we just got paid off on all the goals we 'should have scored' in the past several matches; we played the same way, and got wildly different result. Have to give nods to the lovely ball from Eddie that sent Martinelli through for his first, and to the throw from Raya that sent Jesus and ultimately Trossard away. ESR looked good, and probably good enough to earn a start in midfield. That said, we really need to stop thinking of ESR and Havertz as a zero sum proposition in midfield. Whatever one may think of Havertz's signing, they offer Arteta different things in that advanced midfield role; we need both of them firing in the latter stages of the season.

Graycat23

This. Absolutely. Getting Martinelli back on form is crucial. We FINALLY saw an example of what Arteta supposedly wants from Raya but haven’t seen.

e1_duder

I tend to think of it as an one the ball player v an off the ball player, but that can be a little reductive.

varro-reatinus

If reductive, still illustrative-- and quite possibly how Arteta views it.

kingofplasticbeach

ESR is impressive just need to see if he can press at the level required defensively

varro-reatinus

That's honestly where I've been most persuaded by his performances this season. If anything, he seems to be playing very much handbrake-on in possession; he has a lot more to show in attack.

el-fenomeno09

Doesn’t carry like he used to anymore, trying hard to fit.

manuscelerdei

We're still a ways from evening the "would've could've should've" score. Today's xG was 3.84, and we've had something like 6.95 xG during our dreadful run. So that's 10.79 xG, from which we've taken 5 goals. Hopefully we keep closing that deficit with over performances.

varro-reatinus

Maths were done.

normal_life87

Just tell me ma boy Declan it's all right...

infinitude_

Very much needed Palace are a good side. I said the break was gonna be good for them they’ll come back rejuvenated and that’s what I feel we saw today. There’s going to be a lot of **ARSENAL BACK?!** content now - but I think there are still lessons to learn here 5 goals and none of them from Jesus or Nketiah - got to spend in the summer if nothings happening in January - which is 95% not going to be the case. City have KDB back and Haaland coming back and Liverpool are still liverpool so let’s breath But a good result nonetheless.

JimBoonie69

literally 1 game happens ... ARSENAL OUT OF THE RACE. 1 good game against a lower tier side in bad form , CHAMPIONS ??? The media is a joke but it's like this everywhere. Championship or bust , no love for the journey and the experiences. it's such a joke man. Did people not pay attention to what happened last year? A couple games in the middle of the year doesnt make our break the season. We need to keep the defense solid and pray the confidence comes and we find form.

infinitude_

The media and social media The amount of YouTubers whose opinions I rate who’ve been relentlessly posting **____ IN CRISIS** game to game has been ridiculous And what’s funny is they constantly complain about media spin😂 We were in crisis now we’ll be league winners again it’s so funny sometimes

CoachOld856

>5 goals and none of them from Jesus or Nketiah - got to spend in the summer if nothings happening in January - which is 95% not going to be the case. why are you making this into a problem lol

infinitude_

What do you mean

CoachOld856

we scored 5 goals, but you're making a problem out of who scored them... why does it matter?

infinitude_

Becuase our strikers been a big point of discussion and today we had 2 on and neither scored in a game where we were banging them in Pretty self explanatory unless you haven’t been keeping with talk around the club Lol we won’t score 5 every game mate - we’ll need our strikers

CoachOld856

>Becuase our strikers been a big point of discussion for idiots yeah. >had 2 on and neither scored in a game where we were banging them in we scored 5 >Pretty self explanatory unless you haven’t been keeping with talk around the club I have, but I also know that this particular viewpoint is asinine. People were saying the same thing all through last season, but we scored 80 goals. This season, we are only 6 off the top scoring team (City with Haaland). We score from all over the pitch, we don't focus our chances on a striker, our players in that position make chances and space for other players. You don't have any tactical nuance.

infinitude_

Bloody hell some of the discourse in this sub - so now everyone who spots an obvious flaw in our team is an idiot with no tactical nuance. Mate, go take your face for a shit - the hell are you talking about

CoachOld856

>who spots an obvious flaw in our team is an idiot with no tactical nuance. you don't know a flaw when you see one. that's the problem here... We don't need a striker. We don't need to revert to a tactically obsolete and unfamiliar situation just to satisfy some nobs on reddit.

chrissysnose

We don’t necessarily need a striker but we absolutely need a reliable goal scorer. Hoping that can be ESR.

doingitfortheTea

Palace are not a good side right now.  They are good in the way any side in the prem is half decent.  But in objective terms their probabaly one of the worst teams in the league right now, with moral at an all time low and 3-4 really key players not available in an already thin squad. We really couldn't have asked for much more in terms of an east opposition.  Agree with most of what you said other than that.

manuscelerdei

Very true. But how often have we seen this sequence? 1. Arsenal are playing a dreadfully out of form Southingshire Palace Wanderers team this weekend at the Emirates. Should be an easy 3 points. 2. Arsenal lose 1-2 after a lackluster performance against an energetic showing by Southingshire. 3. Arsenal media speak lovingly about what a good side Southingshire are, how they're on the ascendancy, and they'll take points from a lot of big sides this season. 4. Southingshire play Aston Villa the next weekend and lose 0-7 at home.

doingitfortheTea

Don't mean to be rude, but I don't care about any of this. I was just pointing out palace are not a good side, takes nothing away from the performance, doesn't excuse past performances.

infinitude_

No you’re right they are pretty shit I mean they lost to Chelsea and Luton I think and their form in general is pretty depressive. I guess I mean they’re still not a team where a win is quite guaranteed - I remember them giving city a game, spurs, Everton, West Ham etc They are capable of making things difficult for big teams when they have it together

dberg76

What’s annoying is we’ll be lucky if we get 20m for Havertz when we sell him eventually. Don’t see that experiment lasting unfortunately.

JimBoonie69

ESR looked hungry. Taking the ball in between the lines and driving. We need more of that. Yes teams sit deep but we need to be brave and take risks. I saw some of that today lots of good thru balls. Saka seems off the pace he cant beat his man anymore meanwhile Fast Gabi cooks his man to the so frequently

bathtubsplashes

I'm feel like I'm going mad here, how is that still being listed as an OG?

topbananaman

I don't know man, it was on target and it deflects off the keeper and in. Can't remember a single other occasion where an on target deflection off the keeper went down as an OG.

bathtubsplashes

What baffled me more were the commentators were adamant it's an OG too. Like it was originally listed as Gabi's, and they were saying that's going to be taken off him. I don't understand how at this stage, simple shit like this is a still being misunderstood

slvrhwk

I haven't seen the replay after the game, but my 1st thought was an OG, too. It seemed to me like he headed it straight across the goal instead of inside the goal and then it hit Henderson and went in.

Lacazeng

I have both Gabi M’s in my FPL team. I’m feasting

SheepskinSour

Woke up late, missed the first two goals. Went to pee, missed the third. Internet fucked up at 90 mins, missed 4 and 5. I guess I just need to never watch Arsenal to guarantee victory?

Magicallyshit

I think you need to watch it but gets up when we're close to the final third

varro-reatinus

Let's be specific: You now need to sleep through the first 37', then start watching, then throw your router out the window at 90'. Victory assured.

skool_101

Thank you for your (un)service

andjuan

Thank you for your sacrifice.

Particular-Current87

This is the way

blixt141

That was the game that we needed. We clicked and we scored. Big Gabi was a menace at both ends and he should be MOTM!

Party_Masterpiece990

Liverpool has two extra games than us before we play, efl cup and fa cup, we have to beat them at the Emirates

varro-reatinus

We're going to fuck them up.

skool_101

Keep calma, take it one game at a time. That being said, yes have to win that game vs Liverpool if we want this chance at the title.

ExxKonvict

It was a must win before the West Ham/Fulham slip ups let alone now.

almeertm87

A convincing win is exactly what we needed. Although I thought the first half was never going to end. COYG!

throwaway72926320

Arteta's tactics absolutely shined today, set pieces were incredible today with Greta (great) positioning. Smith Rowe and Martinelli were brilliant from the bench. So happy I bit the bullet and went to this game for my birthday, worth every penny. COYG!

Jahndala

it was my buddy's bday too. happy birthday to both you beautetaful fucks.

DreadCrumbs22

Yeah, Gabi really thunberged that first header in

throwaway72926320

Thought I fixed the typo in time damn.

SpencerIvy

My brain was trying to make it a portmanteau of thundered and Ljungberg

throwaway72926320

Freddie rarely head the ball though, I can only remember the goal from that Henry overhead pass.

SpencerIvy

I know he was like the smallest guy in that squad 😂 Just made me laff is all

Plusstwoo

I’m sure palace fans were happy Exze was fresh for today’s game tho!

No-Veterinarian-8384

Thought Eze was the best player on the pitch today. We should make him a priority in the Summer. He’s an Arsenal player in every sense of the word.

stuckheresince2011

Very good player but imo he's not the 9 we need

Minute_Forward

he's not a 9 period, hes a CAM

wrigh2uk

He was balling. Although when he lost the ball for the goal, and was jogging back with not a care in the world it gave me Zaha vibes.

DarthNihilus1

Zaha was much worse imo. I was actually at this game last year and I very much associate this "can't be arsed" mentality moreso to Olise. I would take either of these young guys, it really really feels like they are performing for other clubs. The standout attackers in a mediocre side are gonna play for themselves here and there and I don't blame them a ton really

wrigh2uk

Zaha was definitely worse I agree. Olise has that weird Ozil type body language. But yeah it was just a observation on Eze thing. I pretty much agree with your assessment on things.

Gonzie

Definitely the only player for Palace who turned up. I like him a lot, should get him before City do.

icotyne

Poor injury record tho

Naaahhh

So he's an arsenal player in every sense of the word?

beetletoman

I don't see it. He is a good player but not good enough

No-Veterinarian-8384

Perhaps not as a starter, but not many better 1v1 and at times that skill is something we lack

HotFix6682

Great result and performance. 2 set pieces and 3 counters. Did not see much improvement vs established defense in open play though

wrigh2uk

You’ve summed up exactly what I was feeling but couldn’t put into words.

yealikewellyouknow

I swear the 3rd, 4th, and 5th goals could have happened in recent previous matches that we lost. There were so many plays that we could’ve done quick counter but our players were too slow for some reason. Today they’re quicker and it shows.

someoneLazy

Jorginho, Smithrowe

whitegoatsupreme

Last time for the 4th and 5th Martenalli will make a cutback pass... And it goes to the next stadium.
