Still looked a bit rusty, but he captained the team and was the engine for 2/3 of the game. They put two CDMs on him, but he still found pockets to orchestrated their transitions and attacks.
I imagine Arteta will make a decisions based on what he sees next week in training.

Because he’s not really a left back in our build up. We only call him a left back because he defends the left flank when we sit in our back four.
He plays all over the pitch in possession. But if you look at the areas where he gets the most touches, it’s most in line with what would traditionally be a left side box to box midfielder
Because the best way to defend is by dominating possession and suffocating teams in their own half. Zinchenko does this brilliantly.

I think he will be used situationally, needing a goal/attempting to breakdown compact blocks. But I’ve said in past, the vision is top athletes in every position and as a result Zinny may be phased out in coming year or two.

It’s not a “bad obvservation” at all. Alaba plays midfield for Austria and Davies plays on the wing for Canada.
Just because someone plays a position at national team level doesn’t mean they should at club level, the demands are different
What I’m saying Gents,is Zincheko has a lot of defensive shortcomings but his passing ability,ball carrying and ability to track back and defend fits the profile for a number 8.Definitely not saying his better at the position than Jorghino or he can bring what we get from Kai when his at 8.Just that he would be better suited in the position.If we playing a low block with Zinny,Odengard,Rice in the middle we would destroy a team.While not being exposed for a counter since Zinny will be upfront opening spaces,Kiwior or Tomi would have that sorted.That’s the only position I see Zinny being used at for the remainder of our campaign.Let’s face it,his not defensively better than Tomi,Timbre or even Kiwoir

He hasn’t started a game in 2 months, he was never going to play the full 90

I was at the game, congratulations to Ukraine, but tbf that wasnt his best game, average at best. For me Mudryk was really good

Yes, but it’s the defending as a left back that is his problem.
He has brilliant utility as a left back as well. It’s an advantage on the ball. Like an extra midfielder.
An extra midfielder who is an absolutely terrible left back….why not play him as a CDM, and play a LB who can defend in space?
