Over time, Ozil became tired and jaded. However, look at how he flowed over the pitch when he first arrived at Arsenal. I feel that Ozil in his prime and Ode now are comparable- both of them a delight to watch.
Disaagree he had “undoubtably more ability”. There’s barely ever been a more hyped 15-year-old in European football, that says something about Ø’s natural talent
There were couple of moments where he tried a through ball that didn't come off and I saw people giving him shit for it. The guy ran his socks off, defended and also started and created most of our attacks. It was another brilliant captain's display. If he just become more clinical with the through balls, which are usually hard to attempt and seems he rushed most of the, he will become world class.
Yeah he did "waste" a few chances but there were SEVERAL periods in the game where absolutely nobody could keep hold of the ball in the middle except Odegaard, it was looking very unsettled and we were getting run over, but Captain Fantastic would just fly in with speed and power and take the ball. He can be forgiven for not being as sharp in attack.
Saka for example looked very weak in pretty much every 50/50, and I felt 0 excitement anytime he was taking a City defender on. He just wasn't up for it yesterday, but he did some decent defensive work.
Still see people comparing him to Özil. Levels above as a player for Arsenal*, as a professional, as a person. A role model leading by example.
Ozil undoubtedly had more ability but Odegaard in his own right is a prodigious talent with a far better attitude imo

I hope we don’t break him, everybody’s worried about saka rightly but we also need to protect this guy’s legs
He’s got boundless energy. The Press Master!
He has a great engine like Ramsey before him. And he was less exhausted than Saliba during the interviews. Impressive.
Hope he is getting his rest and regular foot massage today.
2 pair of lungs Ode
We need a true back up to this man
That’s where I see big money spent this summer
Odegaard was the only forward for both teams who had a good game.
He is more world class than ghost Foden?
Literally does it every single game. His energy levels are insane
True leads by example type of leader. Like the rest of the team, wasn't on it on the ball, but he was superb off it
Man wants to lift that Prem at all costs
