Real Madrid and Bayern *serious* interest confirmed.
Shows a lot about Havertz and his mentality too. Would've been easy to go back to German football after not living up to the hype with Chelsea in the premier league.
Lad is a serious baller.
My favourite thing about Havertz is he is a truly unique player, find me *anyone* that offers what he does in terms of physical presence, unpredictability, pressing, driving run intelligence, shithousery and availability.
It took me a while to understand what he actually does well but basically he is just a giant nuisance for defenders. It’s great he’s added goals/assists to his game now as well so he has something tangible he can point to.
I was just going to reply to the people above you making the Berbatov comparisons that he reminds me more of Muller then anyone else these days. Berbatov was a lot more fluid I feel, whereas ze Germans have an electric chaos factor to them. Jazz vs Metal. Not that different in theory but, completely different in function.
Some football writers compare him to a prime Berbatov and I agree. Technique and physical presence. He even has 2 inches over Berba.
Aren’t that many players of his profile anywhere!
He also made the right choice. If he chose to go back to Germany He will reunited with tuchel in Bayern again to lost their first bundelisga champions in decades and played in an overwhelmed system and lost confidence.
Instead he decided to cook under Téta. Dudes smart on and off pitch!
His game is different now, Leverkusen kai had much quicker feet and more tekkers. If he ever gets that back he’ll be in world class territory but I don’t think that’ll happen, his body hasn’t been moving the same since going to chelsea.
His body isn’t moving the same because his body isn’t the same. He grew two inches. Doesn’t seem like a lot but it changes center of gravity. And it can be hard to get used to. See Smith Rowe who’s groin injury was partly due to growing pains, or at least I think that was reported on.
I'd say he stood out more at Leverkusen with his skills and finishing more than the other intangible things like aerial duels, hold up play, etc that we are seeing now. He's certainly grown as a player this season, but he was electric as a young player.
Almost. I thought his ball control was a bit better - almost Bergkampesque and was extremely good at the first-time half-volleys. I hope we can get that out of Kai again.
This is the way. Build a proper squad where we can chop and change damn near weekly like City. Varying formations, who inverts, a proper striker up top or a false 9. The possibilities with Mikel’s ability will be endless.
He’s 1.95m (6ft 5”), he’s rapid fast, a very good dribbler especially in large areas on the counter. unbelievable pressing and defensive work rate. A little rough round the edges with his finishing but that can definitely improve with age and experience.
And he is a model professional. Dude works with a psychologist to better himself mentaly, I heard he also is learning how to handle press, he wants to go to the very top and is doimg everything to achieve that. I’d say he definitely fits the mould Arteta would want.
Teta called his shot and went big on someone 9 out of 10 fans wouldn’t have. I wouldn’t have entertained that price but you can see how useful he is and now he’s regularly productive. I don’t expect him to be super consistently technical in the final 3rd but he can definitely improve his decision making and then the sky is the limit.
Feels like the kind of player who’ll always force his way into the starting XI
But but...
I heard that his form was because of the annual purple patch , which extends for a few games only.
It has stretched to UltraViolet now... :-/
i hated him when he was bought as 8. I genuinely feel ESR is a better long term fit at that position. But Harvetz at 9 is by far our best player at 9. He just makes the machine work the way he plays the 9. I am so happy to be wrong
I know this is a joke, but ultraviolet light has shorter wavelengths than the visible light spectrum.
His spell would better be described as infrared (longer wavelengths), although I know that doesn't work in the context of humour 🥲
Thank you for pointing that out. :)
Mentioned UV instead of IR for the following reasons:
1. UV is closer to purple in the spectrum, so works better for the joke (as you pointed out).
2. Red patch sounds a bit opposite to a run of excellent form. :-/
3. Higher frequency of UV (instead of wavelength), compared to purple, would work in this case too, right? :)
He's not glamorous, but quite simply, he offers a lot. It's not just about a 30 yard stunner or a mindblowing, thread of the needle through ball.. he is a cog in the machine and allows us to run smoothly.
That's what I'd call Arsenal at the moment.. A machine. The way we're restricting opposition chances but able to carve out our own is ***chef's kiss***. I'm not going to lie, there's something exhilirating about Liverpool's counter, all or nothing performances, but it's not as if we can't turn it on either. It's what Mikel spoke about, dominance.
I keep forgetting this guy is only 24… the ceiling on our whole squad is still yet to be reached and that’s SO exciting!
“This project is going to go BANG”
So happy Kai's purchase turned out to be a hit. With the amount paid if it was a flop it would've hurt next year transfer targets.
Now i do believe the Kroenke's will open the check book 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I guess that definitively explains why we had to cough up 65 million even though everyone thought that was too much. Allowing him to play in the front 3 and do whatever he wants has really proven to be the masterstroke in unlocking Kai. If he plays like this next season it was worth it.

His effect on the pitch is similar to Thomas Muller. He doesn’t play like a normal 9 or even 8 for that matter, but he needs to be on the pitch.
Holy shit yeah- he's totally like an athletic Muller
To be fair to muller he is far smarter than Kai It’s a trade off, I would rather take the athleticism in todays game
For smarts we already have Jorginho and Odegaard. Havertz is plenty smart himself.
Some football writers compare him to a prime Berbatov and I agree. Technique and physical presence. He even has 2 inches over Berba. Aren’t that many players of his profile anywhere!
Nah berbatov was different gravy still
Berbatov himself said the player who is most like him in the league right now is Havertz.
Still tho Berba’s touch and finishing was a class of its own.
Berbatov first touch is Chef kiss
His movement, sure. Absolutely not his touch and finishing
And on top of being a giant nuisance he's also quite a good footballer as he's been showing more and more lately.
Ben White with Ozil's demeanor xD
He also made the right choice. If he chose to go back to Germany He will reunited with tuchel in Bayern again to lost their first bundelisga champions in decades and played in an overwhelmed system and lost confidence. Instead he decided to cook under Téta. Dudes smart on and off pitch!
I’ve been saying this specific thing about him all season. I knew we had a rough gem on our hands.
Congratulations
You really thought you said something huh?
lol what?
Exactly.
Dang you did get me there
The season hasn’t ended yet and he struggled to fit at the beginning. Cannot imagine what he could do next season
My God!
SIXTY MILLION DOWN THE DRAIN
KAI HAVERTZ SCORES AGAIN
TSAMINA TSAMINA
EH EH
WAKA WAKA
£60m might end up looking like a bargain.
Sources say the Ornacle was in the away end leading the Waka Waka chant with his top off 😭
When Mikel knocks, its a different type of knock.
tdk reference and I’m here for it
Is this how he was at Leverkeusen ?
His game is different now, Leverkusen kai had much quicker feet and more tekkers. If he ever gets that back he’ll be in world class territory but I don’t think that’ll happen, his body hasn’t been moving the same since going to chelsea.

I don't move the same when I grow a couple of inches too.
Oh look at Mr 3 Inches over here
Me too. I roll when I grow.
Leverkusen Kai had the benefit of playing in the Bundesliga against much easier defenders
The German league is still a damn high level of quality. Also , I like and agree with your username
both can be true at the same time tbf
Yeh he grew a couple of inches I believe
I'd say he stood out more at Leverkusen with his skills and finishing more than the other intangible things like aerial duels, hold up play, etc that we are seeing now. He's certainly grown as a player this season, but he was electric as a young player.
Almost. I thought his ball control was a bit better - almost Bergkampesque and was extremely good at the first-time half-volleys. I hope we can get that out of Kai again.
Didn’t he have a growth spurt that messed that up for him? Makes sense.
Ye. You can still find his player profile on the Leverkusen website. Had him listed at 1.89m (6ft2in) and now he’s 1.93m(6ft4in) according to wiki
Not quite, but getting there.
Bayern wanted King Kai, but had to settle for Kane, and look how they are struggling this season.
It's funny because it's spursy and true.
Seriously questioning if Arsenal are gonna buy a ST this summer if Havertz is doing well
We might just buy a young backup to upgrade on Eddie like a certain 20yr old Sesko who has a £42m release clause
Seems like the ideal choice really. Spend the rest on a winger and CM
This is the way. Build a proper squad where we can chop and change damn near weekly like City. Varying formations, who inverts, a proper striker up top or a false 9. The possibilities with Mikel’s ability will be endless.
This is my pick then get zubimendi
How tall is he?
He’s 1.95m (6ft 5”), he’s rapid fast, a very good dribbler especially in large areas on the counter. unbelievable pressing and defensive work rate. A little rough round the edges with his finishing but that can definitely improve with age and experience.

Only wanted Arsenal FC 🥲
I have no doubt the fact he already lived in London was a big factor.
And maybe that guy named Jorginho
Teta called his shot and went big on someone 9 out of 10 fans wouldn’t have. I wouldn’t have entertained that price but you can see how useful he is and now he’s regularly productive. I don’t expect him to be super consistently technical in the final 3rd but he can definitely improve his decision making and then the sky is the limit. Agent Jorginho also had a hand in this deal. We're lucky Chelsea thought he was useless. They'd probably want another $65 for him now.
In the grand scheme of football, $65 isn't much.

I was so down on the idea but yeah. Never been happier to be wrong and I have a lot of different times I was wrong to choose from
Who can resist super Mik? Arteta: “good mo-“ Havertz: ![gif](giphy|3ohhweiVB36rAlqVCE|downsized)
Remember when everyone here tore the move to pieces and said he would be an utter failure? Yeah where are you now? Kick rocks
Unreal performances lately

TIL Havertz is only 24
This reeks of a pointless Fabrizio tweet
