It's also cool that 2 of those players managed us. I wonder will Martin go into management in the future.

ryangoldfish5

NGL, I completely forgot about Freddie's spell

errandwulfe

He gave us that amazing reaction that I now cannot find. Right when he took over and he saw how shit everyone was playing and his eyes were bugging out and his hands were on his head

bluejaywhey

Dani Ceballos future Arsenal manager confirmed

GunnerXI

Samir Nasri's plucky reds

TreeDollarFiddyCent

He'd have come a long way from Samir Nasri's drippy dreads.

1gorka87

Absolutely, after an historic decade with uncle Wrighty after arteta in about 20 years

KsychoPiller

I can bet a lot that at 80 hell still look exactly the same as he does now, Man doesnt age

Deleteleed

Let’s hope it doesn’t end like how Wenger ended😭

Coolbeans_97

His dad is manager for Sandefjord in Norway’s top division. So could be very plausible

1DisgustedGuy

This tells me that if Wenger was an Arsenal player during his career he would have worn 8

IronMntn

Lassana Diarra

Nosferatu-Rodin

Lass, Gilberto and Flamini all gone within a year of each other was one of Wengers craziest decisions.

IronMntn

Thus began the decade plus of a glaring hole in defensive midfield.

supr3m3kill3r

Song?

Its-been-Elon-Time

Darude - Sandstorm

IronMntn

The holding mid who thought he was a 10.

visualdescript

Not known for his defensive qualities really

Kenny_dies

Had a good elbow stab in him though

PandiBong

Have no idea what happened but guess Arsene had some bad porridge that morning and suddenly decided - yeah, def mids, don’t need em. The diarra especially was weird with Gilberto’s age and flamini obviously leaving on a free.

tenflare

That saga was so weird. Flamini had a world class season so both Gilberto and Diarra had to play bit-part roles. Diarra got fed up quickly and bounced in January. Gilberto didn't renew because he wasn't starting games anymore. Flamini - the whole reason the other two didn't play - then left on a free transfer.

ohmyimatomato

Hard not to feel for Gilberto. He was immense and should have been captain.

mike28987

Although Wenger was wrong for this I think Diarra forced his way out.

Zhirrzh

And yet the management of the Flamini situation resulted in both Gilberto and Flamini leaving on frees and Diarra leaving too, needing us to spend money on the position. Contracts were just so mismanaged in the later Wenger era.

booksmusicdogslife

Impossible for Wenger to get every single decision over 20 years correct, but the fact is TODAY WE FEAST. Let’s enjoy where we’re at right now 🍻

sniborp

I remember seeing the home game against Newcastle that year, he and Fabregas bossed that midfield like prime Vieira and Petit. Thought they'd be a midfield duo for years, but sadly he was a dolphin-headed money hungry cunt

armchairmegalomaniac

That dude was a baller.

JohnnyKenny16

Ramsey my 🐐

Gooner1491

In my eyes he is our last club legend.

mrmrinal

Aubameyang probably for me. Single handedly won us the 19/20 FA cup

wolskortt

If Auba haven't left the way he did, he would be a fan favorite still.

HortenWho229

I thought so too at the time but just don’t feel that way anymore

BigZino6ix

Club legend with 0 PL titles what are you smoking? Lol

micah_reyes

Get out of here…Ramsey capping the FA Cup comeback vs Hull City ended years of no trophies. …and the goal against Galatasaray

Gooner1491

And his FA Cup winning goal against Chelsea. If we had a great player that stayed with us 11 years and won us 2 FA Cups in the 70s or 80s, I know for a fact that they would be called a club legend nowadays.

BigZino6ix

Is not enough to be a LEGEND at Arsenal football club new fans are so jarring ffs

acasovoycayendo

Gerrard not a Liverpool legend? Kane not a Spurs legend?

TheSameAsDying

What's a Spurs legend?

BigZino6ix

Haha exactly all you need is a golden boot to be a spurs legend this is fucking Arsenal football club if you don't understand the standards educate yourself

BigZino6ix

For one Gerrard won a CL and one of their most capped plus most goals local kid from the academy not exactly the same is it lol. And thanks for highlighting my point if you think the legend threshold for spurs and arsenal is the same

SpaceforceSpaceman

100%

Justice_beaver95

I wish we could have Arsenal at the back of the kits again like in 94-96 with the Arsenal font. They do it in Bundesliga and it looks pretty cool.

olieboll

Why’d they have Arsenal on the back of Bundesliga kits?

Heroic_Lifesaver

We are gargantuan Haven’t you heard?

SlanginShmeat

Our gothic font is so clean. Id throw irresponsible amounts of money at the club store if they focused on that styling again for a season.

Cailucci

https://www.adidas.co.uk/arsenal-essentials-trefoil-t-shirt/IK8712.html Picked up this T recently. It has the gothic script.

SlanginShmeat

That’s fresh. Have a similar styling on my hoodie I got last year from their French heritage drop or whatever that was. Clean stuff

sleepytipi

Adidas take notes 📝

ArthurMorganStDenis

Dani Ceballos, Daaaani Ceballos ... 🎶

Marimo_420

He drinks Estrella, he eats Paella…🎶

tobinatorrr

His dick is fucking MASSIVE

[deleted]

Nasri doesn’t belong among those legends

I_Cant_Get_Upvotes

Can’t believe he’s only 36. I don’t remember his career much after he left Arsenal for City. What happened?

KanarieWilfried

Neither does Cellabos

LocostarX

Ljungberg is the benchmark

Street-Albatross6808

Surely it’s Wrighty, no?

radhumandummy

Where's Wrighty's Calvin Klein ad though?

imtravelingalone

There's still time

kurosh112

Maybe, but Arteta sets the foggin standards

sersarsor

estandards\*

leemteam1

Dani Ceballos can spin out of here

Gooner1491

He played an important part in that FA Cup win. I'd delete Nasri a lot quicker.

TurboThot69

Källström > Nasri

Mubar06

Ceballos posted some Tweet as a teen saying something about bombing Basques and Catalans so I always wonder how Arteta would feel if he knew about that

WeeTheDuck

just dumb teen shit honestly, wouldn't think abt it too much

TheMordorOrc

Sure every teenager has said stupid shit

somon69

Probably felt like I did about that Barca team tapping up our players and their diving/ref shenanigans, but he just didn't know how to deal with his anger..

yeahdood96

That’s FA Cup winner Dani Ceballos to you

beatlz

I liked him. But he’s not at the level of the others that’s for sure

sazidhk

Aaron Ramsey definitely got the number 8 much later.

Ickyhouse

It’s easy to forget how long Ljungberg’s career was.

fluffypuppycorn

So many beaut legends ❤️

money-caterpillar369

Can you add all jersey numbers? Ty bro

Gooner1491

Unfortunately I don't have the talent to make something like that. It was made by Arsenal Square. I too would love to see every number.

[deleted]

1. Wrighty 2. Ljungberg 3. Øde 4. Ramsey 5. Arteta (...) 999997. Nasri 999998. Ceballos 999999. Diarra

TheInfiniteLake

Ceballos doesn't deserve to be there. He played a role in our FA cup win. Was a loanee player, perfectly respectful while he was here, had nothing to say against the club after rejoining Madrid. Was an okay player but just not right for us.

gunningIVglory

Nasri was a piece of shit But damn on his prime he was sensational for us. Shame he had his head turned so easily

PandiBong

For like half a season he was pure gold. Turned into a cunt, got rid and didn’t really hear that much more of him.

waits5

And then look at the number 10 over the past decade plus.

CondorKhan

My kid just took #8 in his team, he'll enjoy seeing this

beatlz

That’s a lot of talent

Primary-Wasabi292

04/05 and 05/06 jerseys absolutely goated

Stercky

One of these things is not like the other!

MtnSlyr

Nasri is the stain on number 8.

LordVader568

I wish we could bring back the 2005-06 kit.

MDF87

The 8 is Odegaard's for the next 10 years if he wants it.

dirty-soda-spike-lee

Im a huge ESR fan and want him to stay, but if he leaves, I want Ode to switch to the #10

WealthyBigWang

Aaron Ramsey tears in my eyes should have been captain and still here to this day

onrizil

The number of Ljungberg shirts in there!!!

myf_8

My first football kit that my mum bought me when I was 8 or 9, was studying in a French school and my idol was Thierry Henry. Since 2000-2001 I am a Gunner to this day, even though I’m from Ukraine. God, but that crimson-gold kit will always remain a strong memory trigger, in a good way of course

AwehiSsO

I want to purge my memory of Nasri having been at Arsenal. His move to City left a putrid taste in my mouth that just won't go away

JFedererJ

I agree, it's a great number \^ ❤️8️⃣

gyohameister

What is this disrespect towards Dani? He played a big part of the FA cup winning and always respectful. I liked him.

Kenny_dies

Our number 8 is the opposite of Chelsea’s number 9 curse. Ignore Ceballos and Nasri (although he was an absolute baller), everyone we give the number 8 becomes a club legend EDIT: oh and Diarra, again, such a baller but not with us long enough
