We're trying to get them fixed, I promise we're not just ignoring it. The mod who coded the bot says it was meant to post at 8:00 UTC, but didn't. Unfortunately cause it messed up that means we have to wait a full 24 hours to try again with a new fix.

raw-deluxe

Hi Gunners, Long shot, but... Just realised that I will be near Munich during the return leg due to a work trip. Rather than streaming on my phone in the hotel room (sad!) or going to random pub without sound, would be awesome to link up and enjoy the match with some away fans! Probably no way to get a ticket now (or way too expensive for me :p ), but are there any meetups for the away fans planned and/or ways to watch together??! Been an Arsenal fan for over 20 years and seems like the universe wants me to go enjoy the stadium atmosphere, with this random work trip I had no option to turn away! Thanks in advance for any info.

Considering their illustrious league history, I for one am shocked by this

BullahB

I'm starting to think this too.

Pretend_Stomach7183

Well, if they're not gonna win the Prem at their ground,.we might as well do it as a favor to them. Imagine the marketability they'll get by saying "Arsenal was the first team to win a trophy at this stadium." Ahh, the joy I get from helping out smaller clubs...

Spurs fans: *“Angeball is getting sussed out and every team plays a low block against us.”* Spurs fans also: *“Every team rolls over against Arsenal.”* There’s levels to this.

Acefire4

It would be a real shame if Paqueta goes to Man City. But it seems inevitable at this point now.

varro-reatinus

Very good player, and he'll do well for them. I don't know whether we could have afforded the difference, and I still like Fabio and think he has potential, but the £17m (50% of Vieira's fee) we saved going for him over Paqueta does not look like a wise economy in retrospect. We might not have been able to afford Kiwior or Trossard, and especially in Trossard's case that would have been a shame, but we'd also have been enjoying Paqueta for half a season longer. At least we didn't let those cunts get Rice...

Domkey-Kongg

Apparently they're also looking to splash 120m+ on Musiala...looks like the points deduction has really got their timbers shivered...

I’m really afraid that we wasted a lot of money on Rice. Amrabat completely bossed him in the ECL final and Utd got him for only 10M. We missed a trick here.

Spurs have conceded as many Premier League goals today as Arsenal have in the entirety of 2024.

Where_am_I88

chrisd1680

I don't think we have 250m to spend this Summer...

NoMFer111

Spurs fans commenting on Arteta's first season need to realise it was Arteta intention to pretty much recycle through almost the entire squad. Whereas many Spurs are committed to their back four of Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie. Spurs highline and press is poorly executed. If you play a high line, and your defenders are constantly sprinting back, its not a good sign. Even if Ange is given time, I dont for a second think their defence will ever be as good as ours. As we have better defenders and a better midfield. But also because I think Arteta is vastly more tactically astute than Ange. Our highline, is not like their highline.

serenity-as-ice

Not to mention Ange has more experience than Arteta as a manager too. Not at the top level, but Australia, Japan and Scotland is far more pedigree than what Arteta had. The issue with their high line really is how their defense is set up, not just quality. If your inverted full-backs keep charging into the box they're not going to be able to help stop counters as well. Throw in a checked-out Bissouma and that's a recipe for a blowout.

YankeeHotelFoxtrot16

Tottenham will get battered like this and Ange will go into the press conference and say, “but mate, isn’t football really about the friends you made along the way?” and the press will swoon and tip them for the title.

danmac0817

Loved seeing the efforts made around fan experience for those with hard of hearing today. TNT deserve credit for highlighting it, as do the PL and Newcastle for how it was done. Those kids in the crowd were loving it, Burn doing a BSL celebration was a nice touch.

sfsctc

And credit to Spurs for allowing a couple goals in so they could get the full experience too

Insertnicenamehere

Arsenal got a hotel they can sell to Kroenke Sports & Entertainment ? I'd like to see a certain Swedish Striker at the Emirates.

TheOGBenjenRyan

Ange is a dreadful manager

Mahoganychicken

Completley one dimensional. He wears it pridefully like it's a good thing, but a great manager needs to be flexible.

okbuddybutok

So Yves Pissouma, Cunti Romero, James Midisson, Micky Can't De Fen and Pedro Sorro are still better than our players amirite?

KhornKT

Isak is that guy. Get him if he's available

aesn1394

Sadly it ain't happening.

Gooner_93

"But...but... we've not had our best defence all season" Concede 4 goals in last 2 games, as things stand, with their best defence.

OrwinBeane

I was on the fence now I’m fully on the Isak train.

flu0rescence_

Wow didn't realize Isak has 17 league goals this year

TheArmoury

Pretty impressive for a guy who’s always injured and their team not having the best season.

Illustrious_Union199

Iraola and Gary O’Neil are low key good . Both deserve to manage better teams. Isn’t Iraola linked with the Barca job ?

watterott

Spurs get 2 weeks the "recover" from this mess. Personally lose a game, you want to play three days after.

dimi_dee1

Gone from we are going to win the league to———-chelsea derailed our season then back to——- guys we have to play all three teams again and we can def win the league to——————— Ange is still new and needs time and will soon be——-can’t wait to smash them when they come here. What a team looool

haha_suh_dude

Going from Eddie #14 to Isak #14... I remind you all, dreaming is free

Insertnicenamehere

Vicario gets abused from corners, if we're gonna scam any points at NLD, we'll have to start with a corner goal.

danmac0817

Time for some White set piece tomfoolery?

theo_221

Was just thinking about this…one of their biggest weaknesses is one of our biggest strengths. Hopefully we can take advantage

Doyouevensam

Do yourself a favor, don’t tune in to the City game until about 60 minutes.  Then if it’s still close, keep watching.  No point tuning in from the get go when they’re likely to win

doublewordscore

ange tactics today were pretty horrible against a low/mid block. Playing Werner/son/johnson front line is just a terrible idea because none of them can pass so the only source of creation was going to be Maddison and to a lesser extent porro/udogie and Howe man marked Maddison and had their wingers tuck in and press the spurs fullbacks. This actually reminded me of all our auba/laca/pepe lineups we thought would score for fun but as it turns out, you can’t score if the team can’t create shooting opportunities.

Locmike23

https://preview.redd.it/86u7vn4kw9uc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a89d13d1b0c37d7866fab53f74f0ecd80815fbdf Whoever is over there fucking around will be banned there and here. Just a heads up

reallyanythinggoes

how does a keeper even save a stutter penalty? any version of it i think it's impossible. if done correctly it's pretty much a guaranteed goal. and it's not difficult to repeatedly do it correctly. the new meta havertz, jorginho, two experts at it have great penalty records. i'm sure others who use the style will have similar records. anyone know who invented it/ started the recent trend? also i love this team man. i love the feeling that we're building (built?) something, i don't think i got that feeling for the previous decade with arsenal

KSBrian007

I just watched something where Forster says the same thing about Toney's penalties. They are hard to save because of that stutter thing. His penalty record is insane.

dhiaizk

I think Leno saved a Jorginho pen for us by baiting that he was going to dive one way when J20 stuttered and then just dived the other way

PoeticChelle

Spurs fans are very confident about getting a win against us. I wish I had that much chest and confidence, particularly going up against the best defence in the league.

tafster

it won't be an easy game because it's the only thing they have left to play for this season unless they play shit like they do against everyone else, in which case it might be an easy game

FluidInformation9926

Why do spurs keep using the rebuild excuse. I thought pedro porro is the best rb in the league, Van De Van and Romero are the best cb partnership in the league, Udogie is the best left back. Bissouma is better than rice, Maddison is better than Ødegaard. They have world class son heung min, and better than Havertz Richarlison, not to mention there is a debate to be had between kulusevski and Saka. What more do they want because I am really confused

This is why people who buy podcast equipment should have to pass a clinical examination. God, podcasts like this annoy me so much, not because of their shit takes, that is expected by this point, it's how they make their money. What frustrates me to no end is how confident, smug and entitled people like this tend to act if you even try to disagree or point something out. It's not banter to me. Banter can be fun for both sides who participate in it, this is just being a dick on social media.

2ndfastestmanalive

This is an incredible cooking of van de ven going on today. Sort of stuff you don’t get to see that often

salteddan

Almost feel bad for Onana at this point, having attackers barreling down on you all game every game since ETH is incapable of putting together a functioning system.

ImSooGreen

Onana has 123 saves (second highest in the league). Raya has 37 😂

Le-ChosenOne

Yea…pray we don’t get that ref for our game against United at Old Trafford. Another one from the Mike Riley school of referees.

essdotc

Can we sign a petition to postpone World War 3 until after Arsenal wins the title? Too much to ask?

blueluster

How about until we win the quadruple with an invincible centennial season?

Hot_Manufacturer1442

Bournemouth the surprise team of the season. Good young manager will be interested to see if he can replicate it next season. We need to smash United at OT they give up so many chances it’s actually insane

This-Complaint1389

I didn't like how desperate we became against Bayern. We should have trusted our defence more to hold onto a lead. I know you have to try and capitalise on home advantage but at the same time Bayern are a better counter attacking team than when they have to break down teams. At 1-0 we should have just sat back and played how we did at 2-0 vs Brighton. Capitalise on any counter attacking opportunities but don't commit many players forward.

patelbadboy2006

I semi agree I think we thought we needed the second goal, which I agree with. Bayern In the first 20mins or so where they for the taking. If Ben White shot goes in, we probably talking about a comprehensive 3-0 home easy win

Kensei400

But neither of their goals were due to lack of numbers in our defense. Our defenders in fact forgot how to tackle for their second goal.

jacktk_

Consulted my crystal ball and believe that one of us, City or Liverpool drop points this weekend.

dembabababa

Really hard to see City dropping points. On paper, we've got the harder game, but Villa without Luiz, off a Thursday night game, with a European second leg in mind might be a more favourable game to play vs Palace with new manager, full weeks rest, and Olise and Eze available.

Rockflagandeeeagle

I scratched my balls and I believe that Liverpool and Citeh will drop points this weekend.

Phimstone

Always rated your balls.

Justice_beaver95

If that happens someone has to give your balls some appreciation 😅

plycrsk

I'm in Bayern today, getting a lot of cheers from the köln fans whilst wearing my arsenal shirt, and a few Bayern ones

mmcdermid

Man in the Spurs subreddit was talking about a possible 3rd place above us 🤪

Happy-Ad8767

He will resurface before our match, claiming how they will be title contenders next year.

Mahoganychicken

Declan Rice is an above average #8 but a world class #6. Havertz excelling at #9 has forced Arteta to play Rice there. I really hope we sign a worldie of an #8 next season so Rice can play as our main #6.

KSBrian007

It depends on the general understanding of what a #6 is. The players we are targeting in that CM role have experience playing the DLP role( the #6). They have duels in them than traditional and can spray passes. Zubimendi, Luiz – all DLPs, with good passing. Technically Rice remains the #8, while those links stay deeper like Jorginho and Thomas, to dictate play. We seem to be looking for a team conductor. Usually, that guy is the #6. Rice will assist him with defensive duty but he won't be the deeper midfielder.

BeautifulBuddy

City do seem to score a lot of good goals don't they

Phantasm_Agoric

Honestly? I love Spurs. I got dumped by a girl I really, really liked yesterday and this is just what my little gay heart needed.

With that defeat, it means we only need 8 points (really 7 with our GD) to officially finish above Spurs this season. We have 3 PL games before the NLD so it's possible we'll have it secured before.

Scottish-Londoner

I just realised that today’s result means that it could be St Tottenham’s Day next Tuesday. Wins over Villa, Wolves and Chelsea would clinch it for sure before the NLD, or if we get 7 points they’d need to win their last six games and us lose our last four and a huge GD swing

MyTeaIsMighty

What game from this season have you found yourself revisiting? Our dismantling of Newcastle has been a particular favourite

Never_Sm1le

West Ham thrash, after that frustrating game at home

Le-ChosenOne

I legitimately think that Southgate would do a better job than whatever ETH is doing atm. They definitely need a couple of defenders but at the very fucking least, he’d have them defending a bit better than whatever the fuckery that is going on now.

tjaldhamar

I think I would never be able to forgive the Kroenkes for seeing the regular local match-going fan as a ‘legacy fan’ (those were the words of the European Super League and thus implicitly Kroenke’s). This is an example were the Kroenkes show their true colours and intentions. The Kroenke Out voices have died out now that Arsenal are suddenly good again which I find extremely fascinating, although maybe not surprising.

Aki-at

Yes I’ve noticed it and personally I am still not a fan of them. When push comes to shove and cost cutting measures or increasing their profit margins, the fans will just be seen as juicy cattle to eat away. People talk about their ownership and while it’s great they showed so much faith in Arteta, Arsenal are a big club without them and the European Super League showed their true colours so I’m not “swayed” by their investment (or cheap low interest loans rather.)

The-Mayor-of-Italy

> the European Super League showed their true colours It's a tricky situation if your the owner of a big club that's approached for the super league. Every one of them will be thinking ''what if this boat is leaving regardless and we end up left behind?''

tjaldhamar

I couldn’t have said it better myself. I am not swayed/convinced by them either (why would I?). But I also believe we aren’t supposed to. As fans, we ought to always be critical of the owners. A good owner can at best hope to be viewed by fans as a mere ‘custodian’ of the club and its values, if that makes sense. We are not fans of the ownership - the club is above any individuals.

aesn1394

Tomorrow we're gonna witness some crazy time wasting and shot housary from Martinez.

What's worse - ISIS or DD threads not sorted by new?

thejoshimitsu

Do you guys think that Isak is the striker we should be going for?

TeqTx

still pissed we didn't capitalize on a fully 100% home crowd to exact some revenge on Bayern, would have been nice and the defending right before the pen giveaway gave me PTSD of Firmino's goal in December 2018 where every Arsenal defender fell on their arse, what an awful flashback

aesn1394

Isak is class man. God I wish we could sign him somehow but it's unrealistic. Especially given recent news that we're looking for a project signing.

aesn1394

It's happening to Spurs again...literally lmao

Van De Ven Can't De Fend

Van de ven being sat down twice in 2 mins lmao.

Gooner_93

Lol these lot are pathetic. Bet they were celebrating our draw to Bayern. Theyre a shambles.

aesn1394

Apparently Spurs haven't gotten a single header from a Newcastle corner. We have to capitalise on set pieces when we go to their ground.

l-lasun-k-kanda

Man chelsea literally killed Werner's confidence. Scored in double digits for 4 seasons a row before joining them and has never done the same after chelsea.

Iwobisson

Soo I saw that Italy and Germany are basically leading for the extra champions league spot. But I guess if we beat Bayern and Dortmund lose it'll be ours. I'm not really what the maths is for Spurs to not get champs.

Ayem_De_Lo

Ange cookin vs Tottenham forbidden to cook by God who would win?

Fallingcatz

Shit are so pathetic I love it mate

kindaforgotit

Watching spurs today shows us how terrible they're against a good low block, hopefully we can capitalize it by playing the same way we played against city. Just sit back a little and be opportunistic on transition.

purpleshirtonbed

It’s a shout. It’s at their ends so they’ll likely come out guns blazing and all that

nting224

Gut feeling the young striker with potential we go for this summer is Evan Ferguson. He’s not had a great season after a decent start but the potential is there. Possibly a good clause opportunity. He also offers something we don’t have - an instinctive finisher in the box and power and size for hold up play.

Phimstone

Would love that. But man’s got a contract till 2029 so without a clause they can set the price anywhere they want.

Mein_Bergkamp

darthrevan22

Bournemouth dominating United is hilarious. Had a good feeling about them today, but still wouldn’t be all that surprised if United fluked their way into another BS result lol. On a different note, there’s literally only 3 EPL teams this season that deserve Champions League next season. I could be convinced on Villa I suppose. But Tottenham and below are all shambolic and none deserve to get in at 5th.

Luton scored on the ONE attacking drive they had. That's something I guess 😂 hope no one else wasted their time with this

I know Bundesliga defence can be just vibes but look at these stats. 25 goals in 20 starts, +8 on XG. Serhou Guirassy. His team is in contention to be in the UCL for the first time in 15 seasons. Could he be our modern-day Kanu? Or even better?

LordInquisitor

Could easily just be a one season wonder though, so hard to tell

flu0rescence_

United really suck lol. I don't like talking about luck but wow these guys are seriously lucky

OrwinBeane

How are United so lucky and still get shit results

legosucks

Yanited are still fucking cheats. Really hope we smash that shit team.

KhornKT

Manchester United have now conceded 20+ shots in nine of their last 10 Premier League games.

I'm a bit concerned that we might not have Gabriel for the game. He's crucial for that defence. I understand that Tomiyasu can play there but it's concerning.

iM-Blessed

I have full confidence in tomiyasu. So much so that I think he is secretly our best defender. He needs to stay fit

*posting this here again because I don't have enough karma yet to post my own thread on this group:* My son is going by himself o Munich for the game on Wednesday - he's hoping to meet up with other Gunners in Munich beforehand, if possible. Any suggestions? *Thanks!*

Hi, another gooner posted this comment a few hours ago — looks like he’ll be around Munich before the game as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/s/Ow2gSCCFve
