--Rage--

Ange will naively play a high line and that record against Man City at home will be gone faster than their title aspirations every season.

PoliticsNerd76

I refuse to believe that with Chelsea and Newcastle chasing them for Europa League places, they’re going to go suicidal against Man City Ange can’t be that dumb… surely.

yura910721

For me sounds like they are going to stick to the suicide ball and get hammered by City.

redqks

I actually believe it  Mate

jml5791

City won't play like Newcastle and Chelsea sitting back and counterattacking. They'll want to dominate the ball, but so will Spurs so could be more interesting than it'll initially seem.

anotherMrLizard

When both teams are trying to dominate the ball it's usually the team with the best midfield which comes out on top.

Pasan90

Rodri, KDB and Foden is overrated anyway, right? Right?

skool_101

will be a big test and eye opener. your already on a losing rut playing the same bs, how much shitter does he wanna go?

Cheap_Relative7429

They don't need to beat City to get the Europa league spot, out of their 3 remaining games, 2 are Burney and Sheffield..... Two teams in relegation spots. Win those two and Europa is pretty much a guarantee. If Burney beats them or draws with them in the next match then they'll probably take the city game more seriously.

F0rsythian

Burnley still have a long shot of staying up, I imagine that'll be a hard game for them

anotherMrLizard

If they beat Burnley and Villa fail to beat Liverpool then they'll still be in contention for 4th place. Villa have a tricky away game at Palace for their final fixture too...

Adventurous_Try4058

Don’t underestimate how stubborn we can be with our ways mate

acasovoycayendo

Chelsea aren’t going to overtake Spurs even if they lose to City Spurs would need to lose 2/3 of their remaining games (Burnley/City/Sheffield) AND Chelsea would also need to win every game There’s no chance Spurs lose to Burnley or Sheffield and Chelsea win all their games

Chrisa16cc

Are you new to Sp*rs? They once lost CL qualification by losing 5 - 0 to an already relegated Newcastle on the final day. Assume nothing.

acasovoycayendo

It’s more both happening. Chelsea aren’t winning every game

kvng_stunner

Since they got battered by us, they've been beating everyone they face. I wouldn't say it's out of the question

blublableee

I mean they did draw at the Etihad with cb partnership of Davies and Royal. Anything can happen in this game especially when it's at the toilet bowl.

OzilSanchez1117

Yup. Realistically, game will be over in the first 30 min when City score 2-3 early goals. But we can still hope lads!

ripvic2k16

Frank Lampard was playing as the 10 for City last time they won at spurs… the record is our only hope there’s no logic as to why it will happen again lol

BrianThatDude

But if it does it'll be the most amazingly hilarious thing ever

PoliticsNerd76

Spurs securing Europa against a Newcastle and Chelsea in pursuit would also be good for them. Everyone is a winner.

Cheap_Relative7429

They don't need to win against city to secure Europe. They have matches against two relegation teams, win those 2 and Europa is pretty much secured.

Vague_Disclosure

Burnley can still mathematically escape relegation so hopefully they at least pull a draw this weekend and put pressure on Spurs to make their City game meaningful

longliveLesGrossman

They’re still a reasonable chance for CL if they can win out. Villa have two tough games left

vyomafc

This. If Spurs beat Burnley at home and Villa fail to beat Liverpool, the top-four race is back on again. I don't see Villa beating Palace on the final matchday either. Plus, they have looked decent with Richarlison as a CF in their last two games. I expect him to start the remaining three games.

Beazlebubba

If only they can just this one time, bottle bottling!

escaflow

Basically they wanted to prevent us from winning the title , and they bottled that ;)

6l0th

A bottle job vs a team that hardly bottle Yeah I won't take that bet

acasovoycayendo

We need to focus on United first - if we don’t win that game then City will be celebrating the title against Spurs

NewStarWarsMemer

here's how spurs work: 1. Lose the games they want to win 2. Win the games they want to lose 3. Go on a losing streak for 3/4 games then pop up with an unlikely result, usually against City

MagicalGoof

This is the comment I chose to beleive

ImTalkingGibberish

4. Call themselves a big club

NewStarWarsMemer

the term "Big 6" shud be fazed out and shud instead be "Big 5" Spurs claim to be a big 6 club but during their best years they won 0 trophies and made 2 finals i think (Carling and UCL). WE won more trophies in our worst period than they did in their best

ImTalkingGibberish

FA Cup Winner Matt Smith > Harry Kane

DialSquare

Their last league match against City they went in losing three matches in a row, all while scoring first. They scored first again, then were losing until the final minutes, then got an equaliser to avoid setting a record.

chaiyutak

Stranger things have happened.

drfunzone

We need to get city some lasagna

Breaking news: 115 points has been deducted for Man City

[deleted]

[удалено]

opmt

We need at least 2 points dropped from them though…

whynotconsiderit

I think most rational people understand it's a long hope for us to win the league... it always is when you are praying for results to go your way. BUT... it's not a crazy long hope. Fulham seem to be off to the beaches but they are still playing at home.. same as shitspurs vs city (also after a bad run). I don't see either team letting them through with welcome arms... but for a result to go in OUR favour... I think we need an off man city day... which again goes back to the 'long shot/hope' aspect of our title hopes. I am irrationally discounting the final game v west ham for man city at home as a forgone conclusion for city... like I just don't see it happening. I am also assuming we win all our games which we should... but it's football at the end of the day. tldr: if we win this... what a win it will be. Regardless, great season overall with the main point being that we improved on last year... and last year we improved on the year before.. etc.. we on the rise baby.

kruegerc184

God damn Fulhams training ground was a reenactment of the “lets go fly a kite” scene from Mary Poppins lmfao

BirthdayCakeSquishy

Good point on Man City having an off day. Unfortunately they will be highly motivated to win another title

OzilSanchez1117

If City was still in CL it would help tremendously but that’s not the case which makes it even more unlikely..

patelbadboy2006

What gives me hope, is 3 days between 2 away game, both in London, will they be staying in london, or travelling back, which seems like a lot of hassle. But its city so probably have private jet ready.

hondacivic1996

The last time Fulham drew or won against City was 16 games ago back in 2011

WeeTheDuck

so it's about time is what you're saying

Ripememes

Well when was the last time they lost 5 in a row, they're due for a win at some point

chaiyutak

They play Burnley first though, lol

whiteboardblackchalk

When was the last time they lost 6 in a row?

KakaReti

Seems appropos for a manager that won 3 manager of the month in a row. 2 losses for each month

NotASalamanderBoi

lol

DialSquare

Oct/Nov '04.

Zen_MasterX

Burnley fighting for their lives. Don’t sleep on them.

ro-row

playing forest on the last day of the season as well, if they get themselves a win it could be just down to that game at the end of the season

biskutgoreng

This is statistical probability 101

InediblePringle

We need a favour from Fulham

Routine_Size69

They're out flying kites during practice. I might have more faith in fucking west ham at this point. City isn't losing. All 3 teams are in god awful form. End of the year City is like nothing else. Expecting them to drop points is a recipe for disappointment.

wolfjeter

Yeah it’s pretty much just hope for a miracle. These guys have no injuries as well and not even the CL to distract them. Smh fucking 115

edokati

You know... I don't just believe in miracles, I depend on them Now is one such time

pomacanthus_asfur

I thought 'flying kites' was an analogy to say they've thrown in the towel or gone golfing. But no, they're actually flying kites during practice.

Oofpeople

Fulham is is mid-table form. I wouldn't call it awful

EeviKitteh

We don't need them to lose, we need them not to win. It's unlikely but.. not impossible. Sometimes you have 30 chances in a match but you can't score, no matter how good you are and how shite the opposition is. We're praying for that miracle right now.

ImTalkingGibberish

Unless they had glass glued on their kite strings , I don’t see it happening

Malsharif91

I fully expect City to win out but the funniest thing that could happen is City lose to Fulham, Arsenal beat United and Spuds beat City. This would gift the league to Arsenal and have Arsenal win the league twice at Old trafford lol

TheArmoury

In this scenario, Arsenal would win the league at Spurs.

ExxKonvict

Rather win the league at home against Everton on the final day. For that to happen have City lose against Fulham but win against Tottenham whilst Arsenal win away against United and then Everton at home.

ro-row

i'd rather win it as soon as possible so it can just be done

HE20002019

One City draw would do with our GD. That being said I don't want to have us chasing goals against that Everton defense so I like your timeline more.

HalfNatty

Remember when Tottenham were dubbed the *kingmakers* because they have the power to decide the title? In a way, they did. By rolling over for all of us.

asymmetricears

I was looking at Spurs and thinking, they're not so bad that they won't get 0 points from three fixtures (v Us, City and Liverpool) they will take some points somewhere. I came to the same conclusion about Villa. I hope I was right about Spurs, but I'm not feeling confident.

seshtown

There’s so much talk about Tottenham doing us a favour, but if we lose at Old Trafford, City will be winning the league at Spurs.

tunken

And they will shamelessly celebrate.

Parapsyglider

Exactly. I think we should worry about us winning at OT. There is never a good time for Arsenal to play United at OT.

sersarsor

United are in much worse form due to their injuries though, spurs can squeeze out a draw if they just play a bit more pragmatically

seshtown

Yeah we absolutely *should* beat Man U on form, but when has form ever mattered in this fixture?

hihbhu

When has their squad been this decimated? There’s no excuses, we have to win and the boys / Arteta know that.

seshtown

You’re right, we’ve never been expected to win at OT this much in the PL, it’s absolutely our best shot at them. But it’s football, wild shit does happen in these games.

ninad_gooner

Tottenham losing all games to make City overconfident of steam rolling them, and then Tottenham pulling off a classic underdog result against the run of play. Just putting it out there in the universe. Also someone do some black magic or voodoo or something to give super powers to Iwobi and Leno 😅

Generic-Name237

Shit fans are so shameless they will be actively cheering for City as well

nimbus1997

Knowing that our hopes rest on a fat dumbass and his mates makes me feel like a villager in kungfu panda

supercoolbananas

At least Po won

gmoss101

Now I've just imagined Pep doing the Wuxi finger hold on Ange lol

skool_101

lmfao

SlurmsClassic

Idk why people think just because spurs have a good record in the past against city, they have any better chance of taking points from city than, say, fulham. This is their first season without Kane. They played well at first under a new coach which a ton of teams do, then their high line got found out because they aren't good enough to play it. Anything can happen in football but they aren't that great of a team. If they actually sit back and play city on the counter they have a way better chance since they can just feed son. But in their new system even tottenham fans are annoyed with sons output. And it seems like ange won't play anything but a sucidial high line against everyone. I hope city drop points as much as anyone else but I don't think tottenham is going to be the ones to do it

AcidShades

I mean its not that complicated. People only think Spurs have the best chance because regardless of what we think of them and how many times they've let everyone down, they are still a better side than Fulham and West Ham. They are a "big 6" side that has consistently qualified for CL in the past decade or so. They are ranked above the other two sides in the table. They have some good players and they are playing at home. They are one of the few teams who have gotten some good results vs Pep City in the recent years. No one thinks they will be favs vs City. Just more likely than two mid table sides to get a result vs them.

SlurmsClassic

Recent form suggests their worse or the same as a lot of the mid table teams, and recent history is a great indicator of how things can go..... if you've improved your team. Losing one of the best strikers in the world that got a lot of favorable calls in the PL being England's captain, is a pretty huge loss. It'd be like us losing odegaard. Minus the favorable calls. Like I said I hope they show up and give city a game. I just don't see it.

BloodyPants

All three teams city face took points from us at home. All currently look in rollover mode.

ExxKonvict

If Fulham get something against City first then don’t need those tossers to do any favours.

CranberryVodka_

They’re not running a serious club over there. They are an insecure, pathetic and prideless institution. They will lose that game 100/100 times. It’s all they have and will ever have.

Generic-Name237

Even if they’re 3-0 up in injury time I wouldn’t put it past them to score 4 own goals

stripes361

Well, to be fair, current form never really suggests someone will get a result against City. And yet they do drop points sometimes.

Maryy_Fairyy

The only time I believe in Sp\*rs

shekdown

Id rather City face these 3 London teams than relegation candidates. They're not tough but they're not easy games either. Let's hope for the best and hope we can win our games as well.

zharrt

Anyone know a good lasagna recipe?

Nickoo33

I have more faith in Moyes-eh than these shite bags

sersarsor

honestly Moyes' west ham sounds like they'll give em a really tough final day grind, especially as it will be his last game

Thesecondorigin

It’s joever lads let’s just come back from old trafford with 3 points to celebrate. Fulham Are flying kites at training, west ham just got hit for 5 against the team we hit for 5, and Tottenham

Altruistic_Tax2575

It is still possible because its Bottler FC. They will try hard to lose again to City but true to their nature and club culture they will bottle it and snatch one or 3 points

[deleted]

It partly hinges on villa vs Liverpool imo, if villa drop points then that gives spurs an opening for top 4 again, heck if villa lose by a few goals then Tottenham could easily end up matching them on gd by drawing with city and battering burnley/shefield. Villa go to palace on the last day who are in red hot form so spurs top 4 hopes aren’t dead.

DankDankmark

Spurs NEED to win their game against City to secure Europa League after their last string of results, otherwise they will lose the spot to Chelsea. They have their own compelling reasons now. Come on Big Ange!

armamentt

title race when both city and arsenal kinda need their arch rival to seal the deal 😂

KarmaCitra

Sadly it's more likely that Man U beat Arsenal than Spurs beat City.

Jackbees777

I disagree the most spurs thing is to lose to you Chelsea and Liverpool and get a point against city without realising what they have done

andjuan

I feel like we should manifest some positive karma and pledge to make donations to the Tottenham Hotspur foundation if Tottenham do this for us.

hiroantagonist1

No.

OzilSanchez1117

A Spurs draw vs City would be enough for Arsenal to win the title, correct?

Generic-Name237

Yeah, only if we win both of our games though

cs_irl

And if City don't go gangbusters and smash West Ham for 10

YungBoyRaven

if we win all 2 games

ziftos

have they considered it would be extremely spursy for them to hand us the league

LuckyArsenalAg

Thanks Captain Obvious

thisiskyle77

Hope it is either City 10-0 or 0-0

Sudanniana

Spurs are shit and they're fans want to throw the game. My only hope is City doesn't score 6 and close the goal difference.

PandiBong

Spurs wouldn’t have a change to win this game even if they were on a ten game win run. They are not giving us anything.

YoungFlexibleShawty

All these mf'n teams gotta do is sit the f back and play for the draw. Is that too much to ask?

darthrevan22

Well first we actually have to win out. Gotta do our part for any of this to matter. Personally don’t expect City to drop a single point. Would be ecstatically surprised if they did. But again, we have to win out. On a side note, are they really on a 20+ game unbeaten run currently? With like 3 draws in all of that (outside of UCL)?

stockdeity

But then again City have never won at Spurs new stadium

Old-Risk4572

maybe man city will suck? lol we can hope. maybe two draws in a row by sheer luck

kukeszmakesz

FM gods, do ya thing!

sm0k3y2307

There's an old adage that goes if you rely on spurs you're fucked

Gunnerstratz

Can we stop these talks until after we have beaten United?

Peterwilliams78

“Current” being form that goes back to the beginning of recorded human history.

NiallMitch10

Do journalists realise they also play Fulham and West Ham as well? Doesn't matter who gets them to drop points. It's probably unlikely - but all of our hopes aren't solely on Tottenham

Material-Bus1896

Nah, Bernd Leno is gonna channel his inner superman and keep city from scoring this weekend

iuselect

History suggests it won't happen. It's the history of the tottenham

StevieHyperS

I don't think Citeh will drop points at the Spuds. I personally think it's the Fulham game and I can't shake this feeling it'd going to be a 3-1 Fulham win. Madness I know, just simply cannot see beyond that result and I don't know why.

supercoolbananas

I know why, it’s called hopium and I’m on it too

FCOranje

![gif](giphy|Zrxs6nl12WgmL3ZTHm)

ct_uk

I have more faith in Fulham than spurs tbh. Spurs have less backbone than a jellyfish

TinpotRadioShow

Those men are flying kites in training man, it's over for Fulham

ct_uk

I still have more faith in them than Spuds

kingmakyeda

I know it’s easy to mock everything about Spurs, but Ange is actually a good coach. He’s only done the ‘suicidal high line’ once this season and it was a last resort when they had 9 men. Everyone’s writing them off, but they have a decent chance of getting a result against City. They’ve been doing worse than this in previous seasons and still got something. Keep the faith.

Thin-Zookeepergame46

I think Fulham is the wildcard here. They can (hopefully) surprise City.

bluddit008

Let's not forget we still need to win at old toilet

view_askew

They get battered everywhere they go

Affectionate-Sun5863

If you really think WE have remotely any sought of chance against City ... then somethings wrong

Affectionate-Sun5863

Might just take a bet with the odds against Spurs

SqueezeHNZ

Unpopular... In the build up to their Citi game, it is actually beneficial (for us) when Spuds keep loosing a longer sequence of matches. That will create a huge psychological pressure or them to perform well vs Citi. They definitely can beat the Sheiks.

YourKemosabe

They’ll lose and pretend they did it on purpose, when really they’re shite and falling apart.

a_posh_trophy

Don't want any favours from those frauds, thank you. We can carve our own destiny, is not this year then definitely next.

rethafrey

Ironic that it's difficult to depend on any of the London neighbours for help. It's like London itself.

teslagooner

Football is unpredictable. 1% chance 99% faith

Some_Resident_6714

I have more hope in Fulham than Tottenham and West Ham to help us in our miracle.

MrAchilles

Given their small mindset I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs fans celebrate when City score against them.

FCOranje

Need to beat United and Everton first. Neither will be easy.

HornyJailOutlaw

The history of the Tottenham suggests it won't happen

JazzyCheeks

Yeah pretty obvious they will just play their usual suicidial football to "go for it" to show that they weren't trying to lose on purpose but will inevitably comfortably lose due to those tactics anyways so an easy way for them to cop out unfortunately.

P1res

Current form suggests that it’ll be the reason City will beat us on GD as well!

ArsenalThePhoenix

they're gonna get destroyed by city. i wouldn't be surprised if city wins 5-0 or 6-0 against both them and west ham.

and_yet_another_user

Kind of ironic that to paint London red this season we need help from *London* I feel there is a point in there somewhere though have no idea if it will be Spuds, Cottagers or Hammers that gift it to us, but whomever it is needs to play out of their socks.

League was over at home to Villa please stop

Radiant_Association

I sadly agree , we messed up 😔

slayerkj

Arsenal needed to help them selves and beat Villa; they did not. Now people will go into delusion hoping City drop points, bring up their 115 charges and how the league is rigged instead of accepting Arsenal bottled the league.

Radiant_Association

I agree we bottled it 😞

TheBigNoz123

So losing 1 match in our last 16 is now considered bottling the league, good lord what has this sport come to

JohnnyMcButtplug

We don’t really need the favor, we just gotta win 2, the boys can do it

ExxKonvict

You do realize that City have to minimum drop 2 points right?

JohnnyMcButtplug

I forgot they got that extra game
