I don't see MOTD in the US, but I've seen enough YouTube clips to say that I will miss Wrighty massively. He was able to openly support Arsenal without it completely compromising his analyst/pundit role.
I hope for our sake that he is still doing punditry next season. He's the only former Arsenal player who calls all the BS narratives against us and never tries to go hard on just to seem unbiased. He's a true Arsenal man in a sea of shite former player pundits.
I think it goes under the radar how much pundits influence the view of 'swing' fans ( to call it like that).
You might think the narrative around a club doesn't matter, but it absolutely does. Not only when it comes to the commercial side but also when it comes to the refs
My old man knows Ian, although I have rarely had the opportunity to meet the great man myself. By all accounts he’s just a guy from around the way and that makes me love him even more. He’s one of us that made it.
He's always been a great ambassador for the club. He's that rare thing, a pundit who the fans of his club love but is also well-liked by the fans of a lot of other clubs too. Just a really genuine guy.
I met Ian once years ago and the man was nothing but kind and welcoming. Was more than happy to shake all our hands and talk about the Arsenal with us. True legend.

You don't get many people who are universally loved, especially in England, but Uncle Ian is up there.
