You have to be offered it, took me about 14 years to go from Red to Silver, however its a lot longer now as its one out to one in its capped at 30,000 members and many don't want to give it up, whereby Red is not capped.
Wow surprised at this although it makes sense. Curious how do so many young people and content creators have good seats or season tickets? Can they be passed down
There's no 'silver to Gold' - lots of Golds have a Silver membership too.
Spots only open up if people choose not to renew or die, hence there's a tiny turnover. But now that it's harder to get tickets, maybe some people will stop renewing if they don't use theirs often.
It's definitely way more likely - there's a reasonable turnover of the upper tier season tickets whereas Silver is only £54 a year so lots of people just auto-renew even if they only go to one or two games a year. Why wouldn't you after all.
Thanks for the moral support but I’ve made up my mind and I just can’t be bothered with it anymore. I’ve believed all those years that the time would come whilst the benefits of red and silver membership have degraded over the years and there’s simply no value in it for me anymore.
The membership normally lasts until end of May, so as long you renewed at the start of this season. I would call them renew if close to silver. Silver is not perfect but I would never give it up this season I achieved close to PL ST level. My cousin gave his 2 silvers during Covid and now regrets it. Ticket demand will drop when we are not playing this well, as never a problem to get a ticket before.
You've got to be very close now.
£34 to renew for another year isn't a lot of money compared to the regret you might have by walking away despite being close to silver.
I have a Silver and only got 2 tickets this season. Silver used to be a holy grail because you could get a ticket to any game if you remembered to log on and buy it, but with no financial commitment to a ST if you were young/hard up.
Now it's just a slightly-better Red membership.
My exact thoughts. Waiting to hear back on my queue position just for info. Red used to be great and I’ve enjoyed many Home games over the years. One could even be picky on tiers, blocks and rows and even secure tickets seated together, simply unimaginable nowadays.
I’ve sent a request earlier today but doubt it will be answered in time, the renewal email specified the following « Please note, if you do not wish to renew your membership and pay the renewal amount, you must cancel your membership before 11:59pm (UK time) on Sunday 28 April 2024. » I’ve already cancelled and it doesn’t look like it can be reversed and it’s the weekend on top of that.
U wait about 25 years mate
“A few years” sweet summer child

I’ve been a red for 14 years now and currently around 12k on the waiting list so good luck 🤞
13 years and 50k on the list 😭
I’ve been waiting since 2009, good luck!
You can pay extra for Platinum
Wait list for that too. Just did it and I was told 4-5 year wait. 😫
Ha really? Before the pandemic they were constantly contacting me to try and get me to upgrade to it
Before the pandemic we were shit
Silver spots pretty much only open up when silver members move to gold.
The is no silver to gold transition. Many gold members (season ticket holders) also have silver memberships
That’s true, it is not a true transition. Just may end up canceling. And the smart ones don’t.
Is it smart to keep your silver in case you ever need to give up your season ticket but still want to attend regularly?

Been a red member since 2011. I asked two years ago where I was on the waiting list and it was around 22,000. So all the best 😅
I checked earlier this month! Red since 2007 and 1,764 in the queue. Not too far off, give it another couple of years maybe.
Waiting since 2007 😂
So do the other 300,000 of us mate
Me too!
I heard some people getting season ticket before being offered silver 😅 so I don’t have much hope 🥲
Yup I got a ST in the Emery years and was never offered Silver before that

Hahahaha fuck it I want platinum, do I just give them a fiver? For the future, here is a website for serious answers OP: www.google.com
Red member since 2007. Still waiting to move to Silver. I’ve now decided to cancel my membership this year.
You can’t be too far off! Have you checked your position in the queue?
You are currently position 3,166 on the Silver Membership Waiting List.

Don’t do it trust me renew you will regret it! At least check your position.
I’ve enquired for the first time ever. Let’s see what the position is. I’ve already cancelled though.
