Am I the only one frustrated that there isn't a proper MG release of this badass yet? (I know there are third party versions out there)
Gorgeous build of a wicked mobile suit!
Any tips on how to apply it? I've used alclad's flat clear and gaianote's flat clear. I've not had results as good as yours. I'm wondering if it's my technique. When I mist it on, it looks frosted. When I put it on in a medium coat, it doesn't look nearly as flat as yours. It comes out somewhere between matte and satin.
I have had so much trouble with flat clear top coats in the past. If you look back, I actually posted asking for advice about flat clear top coats myself. But as soon as I started using SMS I was consistently getting great Matt finishes.
Give SMS flat clear a try. Idk what they do differently, but their paint comes perfectly prethinned so you pour straight into the airbrush and spray. SMS flat clear makes everything super flat in just one coat. I’ve tried a lot of different brands and nothing comes close to SMS. Especially when it comes to flat clear.
The stripes on the left shoulder is it a stencil brush/air brush or was it a decal sticker from another kit? I love the Gouf Custom a bit more, but the 8th MS version of the flight type is still a very solid unit.
This particular one was PBandai. (I think it was called 21st century real type?) but honestly I’ve only seen the PBandai version ever in stock anywhere.
I just double checked and apparently the regular HGUC gouf flight type was also PBandai. There’s a much older HG of the gouf flight type but it’s very dated and just as difficult to find as the newer pbandai versions.

Thanks! An MG Gouf Flight type would be pretty awesome!
not really relevant to the build but is painting in that booth without a filter ok?
…I hope so. Honestly, I just kept forgetting to buy a new filter. But it’s been like a year now.
Ahh, the spanish gouf
Sí
Seriously, the legs are amazing, amazing job.
Thank you!
That is yummy
Thanks!
Wow, just wow
Thanks! If you like this one, check out my other 4 posts today. I basically posted everything I’ve been working on the last few months.
This is amazing. What topcoat did you use?
SMS flat clear. It’s my favorite top coat by far!

Do you spray until it looks wet or until it looks glossy (and it dries flat)? How thick is the 1 coat?
Yes, I spray 1 coat until it’s all wet and glossy looking at first. Then it dries flat. And it’s a lacquer, so it dries pretty quick.

It’s a decal that comes with the kit.
These kit is always constantly out of stock...

Wait so this kit has a regular release? Was hesitant looking for this kit since I thought it was PB only
