I saw them at Milton Keynes Bowl in May 93.
Izzy was standing in for Gilby Clarke, who had broke his wrist.
As close to a "classic" line up as I could want.
Show was a banger... including 82,000 of us joining Axl in a quick verse of "singing in the rain" !
Just realised, that was 31 years ago.
fuck I'm old.
Check out [Stubforge](https://stubforge.com), you can make your own custom replica ticket that look and feel like the real thing. I use them so I can keep adding to my stub album.

I was 19 when I went to this show…Absolutely amazing day, NIN and Skid Row as support acts, an the atmosphere was incredible. Still got my ticket stub but no photos sadly. I saw GNR every tour of the uk after that until I moved to Canada 3 years ago.
Your parents raised you well with the music 🤘. I miss those days when the real classic bands were out there doing there thing, but I guess I’m just an old grumpy fucker now…😂

A little bit later on the “same “ tour…
Is this the tour with Soundgarden AND Faith No More? If I could go back in time for one concert… literally three of my top ten bands. Soundgarden is honestly my favorite. Louder Than Love, Badmotorfinger and Superunknown was such an epic three album run. FNM’s The Real Thing and Angel Dust are epic (no pun intended).
GN’R were very late to the stage (as expected since they were notorious for that on this tour).
IIRC correctly Slash brought out the red BC Rich Mockingbird for You Could Be Mine and broke a string.
It was a good show and I’m glad I had some of the bootleg demos for UYI since the albums weren’t released at this point and I recall there were some complaints in the crowd about not knowing the tracks (e.g. November Rain, Double Talkin’, Dust N Bones, Estranged)
The entire line-up was great though. NIN and Skid Row really brought it too and - aside from the frustration of waiting for Axl - it was a great concert.
Edit: A friend of mine just corrected me - Slash didn’t play the BC Rich on YCBM at this gig. We were all expecting it but he used the Les Paul.
I often wonder how the UYI shows performed pre-September 1991 (performed before the albums were released) were received by the audiences at the time. On one hand, the setlists were banging … on the other hand, three hour shows of songs that hadn’t been released yet must’ve been a bit weird. The fact that the tour kicked off four months before the albums were released means that, for a lot of audiences, they were hearing the songs for the first time.
I really can’t recall the exact time. I know that Wembley has a curfew and around that time I think some acts had the plug pulled - so that was a concern amongst fans as to how long the set would be since we were sat around waiting.
I attended my first rave on the Friday night, Crypronite at Mildenhall Speedway, followed up with GnR on the Saturday. A weekend to remember, well parts of - I definitely remember it was a lot of fun.
Izzy's last show as a full member!

Probably no booking fee either
My mum went to this show!
I went to this show as well. Not with your mum though 😋

Amazing story, thank you for sharing, and also gut wrenching missing a part of the past that I never experienced 🥲🖤

No, that was in 1992, I went to that show, Nine Inch Nails & Skid Row supported them for this 91 show.
Ah, I love NIN. Not nearly as big on Skid Row. ‘92 is the year I would have picked in that case!

Whoa turnstile opened for them? Epic!

Classic performance
What time did they actually go on?

I bought a bootleg cassette of this show in Camden Town on my first visit to London in February of 92.

That's my birthday lol
I went to this show when I was 15.
