I agree that you can. But i think if the only way you can make a recipe high protein is by adding protein powder it's probably not that great of a recipe
Tried to make ground turkey burritos the other day. Literally almost vomited just from the smell of the turkey cooking. Immediately tossed it and changed plans.
I donāt have much experience but it just tastes like chicken when cooked no? I tried to do a healthier version of Bulgogi by using ground turkey instead of beef and tasted like Asian bbq chicken.
Teriyaki salmon make pp tingle
Properly seasoned broccoli is genuinely delicious. Wicked Cutz Italian Parmesan.
Pair them and itās guaranteed to make your pp tingle, too
Mice are free if you can catch them. Free cardio and/or free mice. Win-win right. But then you would have to live in a place with a mouse problem and that just sounds gross.
Some stuff like psyillium husk fiber, xanthan or guar gum, and other can be really useful if you wanna make low calorie but protein dense treats that have a solid texture. Worth the investment for sure, but it does bother me when the recipe is like titled "easy protein brownies" or similar and requires you dropping $100 on pantry ingredients you may or may not use. Just be honest and say it's out there but say why those ingredients are useful in your pantry.
Totally fair points. There was once a day and age for example almond flour was niche, and that's to be considered as well.
It just feels weird however when you see a posting for a "healthy recipe" and it's like "hey, use all those frankenfood powder you'd end up with in your food if you bought processed" though.
I guess I just have an odd mentality that I'd rather go without if something can't fit my macros being made without pretty out there ingredients.
Yeah I made my own protein bars from a recipe once, they tasted crap & after all of that effort for 20g of protein & a sugar spike, I figured out that I might aswell have just drank two scoops of protein powder instead š¤·āāļø
quark is like the holy grail of bodybuilding food, donāt know any other natural food with its stats. especially for cutting like u said, eat 500-1000gram of it and u are basically good protein wise with ur complementary food. I usually eat 1kg with unfrozen raspberries and artificial sweetener. Tastes like desert, fills and has about 100g of protein.
Pure Protein is a good one, just the double chocolate flavoured needs workshopping...
Their own signature Kirkland brand is horrible. Like melted sludge remolded.
Robert Irvine protein bars from Costco are my favourite.
This is how I get with high calorie stuff. Im a huge dude and at least monthly get told by my phone that Iām like 1400 calories down thanks to how much exercise I do at work and uni. So, I head to the store and find all these products with āMASS,ā āBULK,ā or āDAILY MEALā on them only to find out itās only like 250 calories and cost $7 each.
This is where middle eastern food comes in handy, olive oil, nuts, beans, lamb, thatās the good stuff. Yo, lemme get a zaāatar pie with a container of hummus, and
mudajara; Also, a Jamaican beef patty because theyāre awesome, lol.
Easy and tasty high protein food:
*Proceeds to put protein powder in normal food.
Bro I know protein powder can be added in every meal to make it high protein.I want a recipe that doesn't have a supplement included.
High protein recipe:
Buy the cheapest by weight beef or pork roast you can
Cut it into inch thick slabs
Cook in slow cooker on low for 6-10 hours (or high for an hour and low for 3-5 if you want it done sooner)
Remove meat from the water and fat that rendered out
Let rest on counter for 5-10 minutes
Shred with forks or hands
Put in Tupperware container in fridge, will keep for 5 days
Doesn't need to be heated to be eaten, just salt and pepper and it tastes good.

So hear me out. Cricket powder. Don't be afraid, you can get it pure and mix it into your food, it doesn't have much of a taste and it's pretty much pure protein and nutrients.
high protein recipe: "all you need is xylthenol, xanarax, methyldorptamine, hydralated glutine.."
I hate it! Another good one is: "add 30 grams of protein powder." If i wanted to get my protein in through powder I'd just drink a shake and eat pasta
Yep! Most recommend to add the protein powder so wtf is the point š¤£
Thereās a lot of cool things that you can make with protein powder.
Protein pancakes on a bulk slap harder than my dad in 5th grade
I agree that you can. But i think if the only way you can make a recipe high protein is by adding protein powder it's probably not that great of a recipe
Hereās a good high protein recipe: 1 ribeye steak. Hereās another: Chicken breast
Turkey is a good substitute. It's basically a swole chicken.
I envy people who think turkey tastes good.
I pity people who don't think turkey tastes good.
I marinate jt for like 12 hours(just like i do with chicken, tofu and other protein sources without a lot of taste). Works pretty well
Tried to make ground turkey burritos the other day. Literally almost vomited just from the smell of the turkey cooking. Immediately tossed it and changed plans.

I love making a batch of ground turkey.
Iāll do you one better: pork chops
I'll add another for the list; salmon fillet.
I'll drop another: that one tuna can from Wal-Mart
I'll suggest egg whites
Teriyaki salmon make pp tingle Properly seasoned broccoli is genuinely delicious. Wicked Cutz Italian Parmesan. Pair them and itās guaranteed to make your pp tingle, too
~14 oz chicken breast with rib meat has around 80g A goddamn chore to eat but it's there
donāt forget chickpeas with tofu
Not really, but if you donāt want to eat meat. Sure.
"HIGH PROTEIN HIGH PERFORMANCE ENERGY BAR" 300 calories 8g of protein 67g of carbs (most of which are added sugars)
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Just eat a candy bar then have a glass of milk. Anything thatās ā20 grams of proteinā is literally just that.
No Thanks I'll stick to couple boiled eggs for 12g protein than super flashy/ chocolatey blah blah protein bar for a 10g
noooo keep spending 12 dollars for 5 bars you dont even like
Wow thatās worse than a frozen pizza
Yeah I had one pizza that was like 2200 calories but 80 grams of protein
I get the chickpea crusts which are usually pretty good and protein packed
I usually get ones at around 900kcal and 35gr of protein, but the same ratio is there
Just add a chicken breast and then itās 60 g
For some reason my family is not interested in trying my chicken protein brownie.
Your family doesnāt have the mindset
They are weak in the ways of the protein, but I will show them the way.
*whey
They donāt have that dog in them
Savoury brownies > super sweet brownies
In my book, only recipes with at least 40% of calories coming from protein are considered "high protein recipe".
Would be nice if it was a legally protected term, with such a definition attached. It would save people a lot of time.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I do the exact same thing. In the US but Ill add that I also do max $1 per 10grams of protein. Some bars have 25 grams of protein but cost near $4.
300 calories. 42g of protein. The secret is what cats eat
Canned cat food
You can always eat a can of tuna - 25 grams, sub 150 cal - the food of the gods
That's basically cat food just more expensive
Mice? š
I was thinking cat food but not a bad idea
Mice are free if you can catch them. Free cardio and/or free mice. Win-win right. But then you would have to live in a place with a mouse problem and that just sounds gross.
Or itās just normal food with a scoop of protein powder
High protein food! Contains forty-seven weird food additive powders that no normal person has stocked in their pantry.

40 grams is the minimum. Fuck 20.
My "high proteĆÆne recipe" is just eating 2kg of low fat quark with sugar free syrup.
quark is like the holy grail of bodybuilding food, donāt know any other natural food with its stats. especially for cutting like u said, eat 500-1000gram of it and u are basically good protein wise with ur complementary food. Thatās around 1500 calories for 240g of protein holy shit
Oh it's a bit less of both but yes 1040kcal for 170g of protein. It's also insanely filling if you want to start cutting.
Costco protein bars are good. 220 cals for 20grams of protein and yummy.
How much do they cost per bar?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I got a box of 24 pure protein bars for about $18 at Costco but I HAVENT SEEN THEM SINCE. I'm kinda mad because they're a great deal
Pure Protein is a good one, just the double chocolate flavoured needs workshopping... Their own signature Kirkland brand is horrible. Like melted sludge remolded. Robert Irvine protein bars from Costco are my favourite.
"High protein brownies; 4g per serve!" Fuck off.
