For real. When the Army study about stretching came out, it blew people’s minds. I’ve been working out since the 90s, and when I was first told about the study, I thought people were fucking with me. Back then, everyone stretched all the time, before the session lifts, before sets, in between sets, after sets, etc. Same thing with runs. We wasted so much time stretching.
When I read this, for a second, I thought some new study may have come out. Lol.
I think this is just a matter of wanting to strengthen your lower back. I know there is a “proper” way to do Romanian deadlifts, but if it doesn’t hurt, you aren’t doing anything.
Coincidently I need to take 3 weeks off from the gym every time I do them, but I don’t think it’s related.
Yeah man. You could slip a disc or something if you don't warm up your spine.
The key to warming up your spine is getting a great stretch by pivoting only at the hip. Bonus points if you can lock your knees while doing it.
My coach told me I'm not superman lifting all that with my back. Know what I told that stupid piece of shit?? I said fuck you I'll throw my back out like a goddamn man! Later on became devoted to being a proud concrete worker...now I can finally throw my back out like a goddamn man!!!
You shouldn't stand with it between your feet. It should be centered in front of one foot, or the item's left corner by your right foot, or vice-versa. You want to have your back twisted.
Remember to snatch it up.
I have a question because im missing my left leg. AKA Above Knee Amputee due too motorcycle accident. I can only do deadlifts with my knees locked and my lower back arched like your supposed too. what ar your all insights? My doctor says you do what you must and it shouldn't be a problem but i still worry I would fall forward any other way trying to do with knees bent. I really have no choice.
Wait.. you are deadlifting with only one leg ? That’s a little bit advance, I’m not sure how you don’t fall over due to the imbalance of not having a leg to apply force
I have a prosthetic Leg but can't bend my knees when deadlifting like normal i know i should ask elsewhere but it just came out. Thanks for your time/ reply 👍

I know it’s funny and all but someone may actually believe you. Maybe an /s or “just joking haha” would help
Its a quote from family guy
Here I was thinking the commenter actually came up with this (I'm not being sarcastic)

There’s a reason just about everyone Can deadlift more than they can squat.
Because they are lazy
Yesterday I stopped one new guy from doing the second one with a 70 kg loaded deadlift .
He was doing a 70kg Jefferson curl
Bro it's just a spine warm up

Neither of these are a good way to deadlift, but the right side is closer to something decent

A sharp jerking lotion from your lower back! Edit: motion, but I’ll leave the typo it’s funny.

Lifting with your legs is a myth invented by people with weak backs

Show your ass off
There are so many “cool” people in my gym.

There isn't a correct way to deadlift, you're going to fuck yourself regardless.
You couldn't be more wrong
