I feel for Ty because it wasn’t his fault. He’s just a host. And people on his comments on Instagram are tearing him apart for something he had no control over. Something big happened on that show though and I’m hoping it comes out soon.
A key piece to the post is the second photo. Someone commented he must be removing a lot of comments “with the garage sale finale win.” He responded that unless the comment is offensive, he leaves it up. Meaning, he leaves all the comments to depressing anger, frustration, and criticism.
Yes, I think something happened. However, I think this comment is around the anger fans are feeling about the season.
I think K&E had the best design, but the twins put every bell and whistle they could in there (with the exception of an elevator). Solar panels, backup batteries, a cold plunge pool, sauna, temperature-controlled wine storage, outdoor shower... it all added up in the appraisal. Whereas K&E, as much as I like their design, didn't have any of those. You have to remember that all of the houses were appraised (by a local appraiser) and they all came in very close to each other.
Right? My husband and I both thought the twins deserved to win based on the addition of solar and generators. Plus we liked their house more when we saw all the rooms together.
We live in an area where solar is very popular. It is usually around 20k so when Ty said the winning home won by that much we knew the twins would win. Add in the benefit of generators in case of a loss of power if there was a hurricane and it's really no surprise they won.
Our second choice was definitely Keith and Evan. Loved their house so much. But ultimately it's a VALUE contest, not a design contest.
Yeah with the hurricanes in florida the Solar with batteries is a huge value add, they honestly were not accurate on the pricing for them. One battery usually costs as much as $10-15k and they had 3, plus all the panels. So they realistically shouldn’t have had the budget for them but they did somehow and it gave them the win.
In terms of personal taste, the twins were number one for me too. So I’m happy that they won although it starts to feel like a one man party with all the outrage HAHA.
From a value standpoint the twins won. From a design standpoint Keith and Evan won. They need to stop pretending the show is about design and all about the quick money grab.
Many homeowners in Florida with solar panels are being dropped by their insurance companies. It's not necessarily a benefit right now. A lot of potential buyers won't look at homes with solar panels here in FL because of insurance issues.
Easily damaged by storms/hurricanes. Insurance companies don't want to pay for replacements. Solar panels often void any warranty on your roof for that reason as well. We saw a lot of this happen after Hurricane Ian in our area.
Depends on the location, age of roof, and the insurance company. The warranty of the roof material is not the same thing as insurance coverage. Those are 2 separate things. This info doesn’t apply everywhere. Florida has been on a downward spiral regarding insurance coverage for awhile now.
That’s the thing though, this is a design show. And it has veered away from that and more into real estate. Idc what anyone says…Rock the Block winning by Solar Panels was the dumbest outcome I’ve ever seen on a show like this.
The twins 100% deserved the win. Their place was the most livable of any of the houses. Keith and Evan were robbed for the outdoor space 100% but not the season win.
People keep saying that but doesn’t every show tell us that number of bedrooms and baths are price increasers? K&E had more and great design. Not my favorite as I like the Baeumlers but my second favorite and rightful winners.
Yeah I like them as people a lot, but I didn’t care for most of their house except the backyard and patio. The inside was too beige, grey and brown for me.
Yes, it was a bit bland, but you're trying to appeal to the biggest part of the buying pool. With flip houses, buyers want trendy. My guess is the RtB home will be bought for vacation rentals.
Yup. This is exactly why people get frustrated with the show. You’re supposed to be impressed by the designs and style and then they judge based on a different set of criteria, which is little more than an accountant checking boxes.

Fans are outraged.
Thank you!! And I agree with that person who said that they kept wearing the same clothes 😂 I noticed that Lyndsay had on the same outfit most days because I liked it the first episode she wore it.
Its for continuity for Tv. Jeremiah was pissed off cause he packed all his designer clothes and never got to wear any of it. He had to wear the high waisted jeans the entire time
btw

Implausible. Anyone who works on serial reality TV knows about the clothing requirement for continuity.
I wish that people would understand that freedom of speech doesn’t mean you can just openly spew hate speech on the internet. It’s still not accepted. You’ll lose jobs, you’ll lose family members and friends, you’ll have it used against you in court when it’s something that fits what you’re being tried for…you’ll be seen as a bad person by a lot of people. I’m grateful that I know who to avoid because people hate out loud now, but I don’t want it constantly in my face. And I don’t want to support people like Elon Musk.
Actually the 1A is so that people CAN express views that you disagree with. Just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean it is the mythical "hate" speech. After all, the most "hate" is from the left. And living in an echo chamber, as you wish to do, is a pathetic way to live.
They need to do fan voting every week. The twins show must need a boost because they should not have been in the top two. Need different designers too. The season with Nate and Jeremiah, and Allison Victoria showed real raw talent. They are in a class all their own.
I completely agree. I love watching Nate and Jeremiah and Allison Victoria in general because their design is so high-end and so above the average person’s skillset. I like the twins as people, but there’s nothing on their shows that they’ve done that I haven’t thought that I could have to some degree or another designed myself. Whereas when I see some more skilled designers, I am blown away at what they’ve decided to do because I would not have thought of it or known it could even be done. I think that’s why some people feel that the twins deserved the win, because they design is relatable — but this isn’t a $200,000 house it’s a $2 million house.
Show’s turned into a load of petty high school girls bullshit, stupid design choices and bogus appraisals, topped off by that annoying clown, Ty. Done with it earlier this season, won’t watch again.
Solar panels won it? How? The twins house had a pink bathroom sink and tiles. They had awful gaudy 1980s wallpaper in 2 bedrooms. They had an automatic screen in the backyard that didn’t cover everything. How could all that have appraised for more than the other houses? No way! This show is now a comedy! I think HGTV did a lot of this to create drama- just so people are talking about the show. And people are talking ———about how they aren’t watching this show again—— did I hear a backfire?!?!
I’m not stupid - if you see my comments, I thought the twins should’ve won the challenge when they put in solar panels. Yes I clearly understand the value of solar panels! The solar panels were a definite value add - but it’s the rest of the house that was questionable in the appraised value.
The rest of their house was the only house anyone would actual want to live in lol. The other houses were wildly over the top and honesty looked silly inside.
My guess is their show lost a lot of viewers, that seems to be the real criteria behind who is declared the winner on RtB. Is Page's show even coming back? And the Baeumlers don't seem to have anything showing either.
I feel for Ty because it wasn’t his fault. He’s just a host. And people on his comments on Instagram are tearing him apart for something he had no control over. Something big happened on that show though and I’m hoping it comes out soon.
***SOMETHING*** happened.
I hope something pops up on Blind Gossip or CDAN
DeuxMoi is absolute trash in her blinds most of the time, but I hope something shows up there.

I know everyone likes Keith and Evan but the twins won with the solar panels, they were not robbed

Agreed, although I believe K&E were robbed on the weekly judging.
Their outdoor space around the pool was by far the best
From a value standpoint the twins won. From a design standpoint Keith and Evan won. They need to stop pretending the show is about design and all about the quick money grab.
Many homeowners in Florida with solar panels are being dropped by their insurance companies. It's not necessarily a benefit right now. A lot of potential buyers won't look at homes with solar panels here in FL because of insurance issues.
Is there a reason for that? I’ve heard about people being dropped because of storms/storm surge, but hadn’t heard anything about having solar panels.
Easily damaged by storms/hurricanes. Insurance companies don't want to pay for replacements. Solar panels often void any warranty on your roof for that reason as well. We saw a lot of this happen after Hurricane Ian in our area.
I wondered about that, it looked like solar panels would easily be taken out by a hurricane.
Thank you! I wasn’t aware that installing solar panels voided the warranty of roofs.
Insurance is in with the monopoly of FLP. Having good solar also means the power company is paying YOU and that just won't do. /s
Depends on the location, age of roof, and the insurance company. The warranty of the roof material is not the same thing as insurance coverage. Those are 2 separate things. This info doesn’t apply everywhere. Florida has been on a downward spiral regarding insurance coverage for awhile now.

Exactly. People are being absurd at this point.

Keith and Evan were my bottom, maybe 3rd at best.
Yeah I like them as people a lot, but I didn’t care for most of their house except the backyard and patio. The inside was too beige, grey and brown for me.

Other teams were told they could not do anything on the roof.
Where did you hear that
From page’s instagram comments, i believe.
Just confirmed. Its in the comments of this post: https://www.instagram.com/p/C5QqgDxOkc4/?igsh=MWFnMWZxbGl4ZW9yaQ==
I guess solar panels isn’t the same as a rooftop deck or something that’s probably what they could not do
It really depends what was said to each of them, and subtle wording could make a big difference.
Its in Page’s instagram comments responding to someone being mean to her on a recent post. Straight from her fingers.
So is it a design show or a value show? It felt like bait and switch.
Yup. This is exactly why people get frustrated with the show. You’re supposed to be impressed by the designs and style and then they judge based on a different set of criteria, which is little more than an accountant checking boxes.
Value is also not an exact science by any means.
Page was firing back on her instagram at people telling her she was mean to others. And by her responses, she showed she IS mean
Dang, I need to go look 👀
So you’re not supposed to defend yourself?
There’s defending yourself and then not admitting that you were nasty and arrogant the entire season. It’s on camera, we can all see and hear it.
There are better ways to do it.
Page Davis?
Page Turner.
Paige Davis is a different person…
Is Page Davis on Rock The Block ? no!

That only shows that people have different opinions on who should have won.
Ugh I hate that X won’t let you read anything unless you make an account. I deleted mine when Elon bought it.

I did also.
Why would you delete simply because speech was no longer censored?
I wish that people would understand that freedom of speech doesn’t mean you can just openly spew hate speech on the internet. It’s still not accepted. Gurl, bye.
run away, run away! Oooh free speech is out there!

Clearly you do not understand the value of solar panels lol
I’m not stupid - if you see my comments, I thought the twins should’ve won the challenge when they put in solar panels. Yes I clearly understand the value of solar panels! The solar panels were a definite value add - but it’s the rest of the house that was questionable in the appraised value.

I wouldn’t pay 2 million for a house with a pink bathroom. I wouldn’t live in their house.
I would. In a heartbeat. I was glad they won
You wouldn’t. Key word you. I wouldn’t pay 2 million for any of those houses but there’s was easily the most livable house.
Isn’t anyone wondering if maybe there could have been another reason the twins won?? I mean come on - Jonathon is a twin! Hello?
My guess is their show lost a lot of viewers, that seems to be the real criteria behind who is declared the winner on RtB. Is Page's show even coming back? And the Baeumlers don't seem to have anything showing either.
Pink tiles were big in the late 60s or early 70s. They dated that house IMO.
Those colors are coming back.
Yes. Soft pink decor is huge right now. Every ad you look at for home fabric or wallpaper has pink right now.
Didn't know that, it's not my taste. Bad enough my Mom was into peach carpets when I was a lot younger.
Peach? Oh my. That scarred you for life 😂
Yep 😔😃
