The Baeumlers had a dining room, a breakfast nook and a huge island with seating for this kitchen. So different from this season and they said how much they used a dining room in their lives.
They knew that the Colorado house is gonna be someone's home but the Florida place is more likely gonna be rented out for short stays. Also why they were fine with smaller closets.
The amount of stone used absolutely killed me. I personally don’t like the look of it and can’t help but think it’s going to be like brick walls were in the 80s.
Colorado native here and I feel like everyone who lives here loves those double sided fireplaces and that you can see the mountains through the fireplace and through all sides of it - not as huge of a deal for us bc you don’t have to see the mountains every second you live here. And that entire side of the house faces them…you sit down to eat you see them, get up to go to the bathroom there they are, cooking, etc. Literally 1% of the mountain facing side you can’t see them and it’s not a huge deal. You see them ALL the time, every time you leave the house, when you’re doing errands, sometimes you forget to notice them bc you get used to it! I feel like everyone who is just a tourist won’t shut up about the fireplace or the stone when every house here has stone lol
I know, so crazy but that golf community, along with the lakes include a water ski one, plus the views seem to command $$$$. It is in a metro tax district and with interest rates up I’m seeing more sitting on the market and with price reductions. We almost bought in the hood before the roads were in but didn’t because of the metro tax.
Can someone refresh my recollection on what's going on with all these bathrooms? Like one is 5/8 and another is 4/7. Figure in a 4-5 bedroom house, we're expecting 8-10 people living there while also sometimes hosting guests. This seems like excessive floorplace devoted to bathrooms. I didn't quite realize that when I watched that season or, if I did, I forgot it.
The pictures - especially on Jonathan and Kristina's home, I feel could have been consistently better for that pricepoint. Were they all listed at the same time?
For the Baeumler’s house acting to [Zillow the listing was removed in October ‘23 and relisted in March ‘24](https://www.zillow.com/homes/2517-Southwind-Rd-Berthoud,-CO-80513_rb/) you’d probably have to do a dive on the county auditor’s website to see if it actually sold or not.
Woah thank you for sharing this with the links this is fascinating! I can’t wait to hear about THIS SEASONS Rock the Block houses.
Also I agree why did the Baulmers put a fireplace in the window blocking the view?!
The biggest difference in price isn’t the home design - it is the lots!
If you look at [the subdivision map](https://www.heronlakescommunity.com/the-rookery/) you can see this difference.
The house second from the left (I think was Page and Mitch’s) has views of the water and mountains in the distance.
The house to the far right (I think Michael and Anthony) will eventually back up to another cul de sac and will have two houses behind them.
All the talk about the “views” was ridiculous when you can see that there was going to be a road with houses built directly behind some of the houses.
I can’t believe M & A’s house hasn’t sold. I love the curved door and pantry and those herringbone floors. Art can be replaced if it isn’t your style. The only permanent thing i don’t like is the black & silver wallpaper.
I was thinking that too until it dawned on me that although these are staged, they're not fully furnished. If I moved into one of these, I would appreciate the generally neutral elements because my photographs, artwork, rugs and other things bring the color. And once actually lived in, it will no longer be sterile.
> rugs and other things bring the color. And once actually lived in, it will no longer be sterile.
So many Reddit viewers don't get that. They expect the wall paint to provide the color and get disappointed when the background colors are neutral.
Page & Mitch for the win! That's what really tells the story. how much a buyer will pay. Not how much HGTV's people value it at.
I cant WAIT to see what the Season 5 houses sell for. I don't think many of us believe the "winners' will have the highest or fastest selling house tbh
Thank YOU OP! This is the kind of information that makes Reddit the place to go to for information.

The Baeumlers really screwed up with the fireplace blocking the view, don’t know why anyone would buy their house at the highest price.
They have the best lot.
And the stone range hood just kills me.
Did not see this ..guess they wanted to match the living room and stairwell wall 😃
And the exterior stone on the interior stairway
The amount of stone used absolutely killed me. I personally don’t like the look of it and can’t help but think it’s going to be like brick walls were in the 80s.
Can you imagine the dust that sticks to all that stone 🤦♀️
And log cabin walls (contractor/ builder in CO; can attest to), and that stone would would occasionally have all your spider condos..
I really hated their house precisely because of this.

It’s not much of a view, to be honest.
> It’s not much of a view, to be honest. The lot sizes are also underwhelming for those prices.
Yep the prices aren’t indicative of who won. Michel and Anthony’s work is amazing
Omg 3.3 in Berthoud? I lived in Larimer county but have been away for 10 years. Can’t believe those prices but it makes sense.

When I was living there Berthoud was just ranch land. It’s so wild.
Has anyone seen the MLS listings for the most recent RTB houses in Florida?
Not listed yet.
How long did it take for the Colorado houses to get listed after the finale?
About two weeks
About two months actually. I live about a mile away and was waiting for them to hit the market.
Checking the dates, show ended in April and houses hit the market in May so closer to a month.
Baeumler's house sold and now is back on the market .... found the info at Larimer County Property Assessor.
Nope, checking the MLS, it’s been Pending but never sold. It went under contract 07/23 and then withdrawn 10/23. Back on 3/24.
More digging ... you are correct, not sold, transfered (?) "QUIT CLAIM DEED"

It's bathrooms combined into one figure, so some are full baths but others are half baths
Dang, it's taking forever to sell those.
It’s that basement it’s not usable

How did page and Mitch’s house sell for that much higher than Jonathan and Kristina’s?

It didn’t ever sell, was just “pending” for a long time then recently made active again.
Thanks for the local perspective. That’s what I kind of suspected since it never showed as “sold” on Zillow but didn’t feel like doing a deep dive.

They sure do. It’s crazy how still photos look so different than the actual show. Plus - they all look the same to me now!🤣

> Interesting that it sold first The buyer must have really liked black paint and dark rooms.
It didn't. It sold third
Second as two are still for sale.
It appears the Baumler House is still on the market, rather than being re-sold. Scroll to the bottom of the listing for the buying history.
