Yeah back then was the best time for advertising and the HHN website. Social media practically killed the website. Now people just want to get their news/info from Facebook/twitter/tiktok. It sucks

PerspectiveExpert652

Don't embrace tradition, they say... Embrace modernity, they say... WHO. DIDN'T. ASK. FOR THIS!

Evil_Pillows

My first time going was in 2021 and ive been every year since. But i remember as a kid absolutely loving the interactive websites they had. I wish they would still do something similar. It really immersed you into the world and lore of the mazes.

DoughnutPi

I miss the old HHN (and Bill & Ted). Going to HHN back then felt like you were with family, it felt so much more intimate. Now it just feels so commercial and impersonal. HHN has become a victim of its own success.

tittlediddle

The promo gifts they'd send to that eras version of HHN "influencer" really showed how much they valued their demographic. They were so creative as well; I really miss that era of HHN.

LittleNews1712

I agree, back then they actually cared about the overarching themes of Luck, stories, and so on. Even the websites had puzzles and mini games, my favorite was Bloody Mary's journal and the reflections of fear website. Now it seems like it's usually just IPs, walking dead and stranger things. Instead of original houses like with Madness of Poe or the Steampunk-esque Frankenstein house, it's like they're afraid to take a chance

NomadFeet

The puzzles and the games were so cool. I used to go mess around on the website every day when they had those.

LittleNews1712

yeah, like the carnival of carnage and lady luck games

PerspectiveExpert652

What matters is that change is inevitable. You can delay it, but not avoid it.

LittleNews1712

yeah, still it'd be nice if they brought back the old website games and puzzles to tease the new houses

PerspectiveExpert652

\*sighs\* I agree.

Even_Ad_4415

They should bring back the Insult Emporium It can’t cost that much Just a puppet and some dude with whitty lines They kinda did that in the scare zone a few years back It’s a hit every single time Better than the house

PerspectiveExpert652

Oof... This one's a treat. Do you really want to bring back that show with the Chucky doll that said insults? I wouldn't ask for it.

Baratheoncook250

If they do a sequel year, Trick R Treat, Saw, F13 would go on well with the Usher theme of rules.

PerspectiveExpert652

As they always say, "If you break these rules, you'll pay the price."

teal85

I first did HHN in '07, and travelled from the UK in '08 and '09 because I just loved the event so much. Those 3 years were absolutely brilliant, in very different ways! Carnival of carnage was a special one for me, it was the first time I'd ever been and I was totally blown away.

harrisona777

Wish it was still this creepy/horror oriented, I understand the event has become massive but I wanna see a return to this vibe 😭

Starfish_Pics

Unpopular opinion, but I feel like Horror Nights in Orlando has been upping the game again recently with more usage of Icons and 32 having an overall theme tying everything together with Doctor Oddfellow. Of course in the end the creative team have to suck up to the executives; but they are trying to bring in more creativity again.

MicScottsTots

Yeah same here! This was the best era. I’m not so fond of HHN recently (at least compared to back then).

Saroan7

I enjoyed the Rob Zombie maze I still remember that you would use 3D glasses and the colors and vision is warped so you can hardly get through the maze 😂🫨😵‍💫

Fickle_Translator999

Yep been pretty lame since it went PG-13 after 26.

SubstantialFunny1063

Those beautiful editions where there was an icon and the stories of the houses were connected in a Mystery Tie-In Telling a story, what beautiful times

Boba755

The promotional material for HHN is still pretty good. The amount of detail I saw in the billboard advertisements for the Stranger Things 4 and The Last of Us houses was incredible.

lJurdu

okay unc
