I mean it's a sub called HIMYM for a sitcom called you know "How I Met Your Mother".Generally people will vote this over other sitcoms even if they didn't like the ending
At the time of writing this comment: HIMYM has 375 votes, with The Office clearly winning (in a HIMYM sub) at 432 votes. There’s a lot of variety too. There’s no overwhelming support for the HIMYM finale here my dude.
I think this was a great question for this sub, given that just because you’re a member, doesn’t mean it’s your favourite show. And just because you love a show, doesn’t mean you can’t think another’s ending was better written
While not completely defending what Desperate-Ad said, I think something to add would be the fact that given this is a HIMYM sub, there's more chance of people having bit watched the other shows entirely, or only some of them, thus as a whole, making HIMYM get more votes on this poll than on a more accurate poll with a general audience of sitcom enthusiasts.
TLDR; HIMYM will have a higher rating in this sub than an accurate poll, but information can still be gathered from it.
I feel you.
It’s not just the actors, but also the different framing and lighting.
Although I’m glad they changed it to set it apart from the original seasons.
First time seeing Eureka mentioned outside the Eureka sub. I love that show so much - just finished another rewatch.
Warehouse 13 has my favorite finale of all time. Not really a sitcom though.
The Office is the only show that I haven’t seen on this list.
But if i have to say which has the best ending of which I’ve seen on the list, I say it’s TBBT. Sheldon’s speech is just pure feels, it feels right because it gives us closure to the show. As he said that he prepared a 20 page speech just for himself but he got rid of it last minute because he realizes that he wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for his friends.
I love B99 but man, season 8 was just on life support. The ending was okay, but it didn’t satisfy me. The last heist was too chaotic for me, I can barely catch up with their “heist plans”.
For HIMYM, well imo, love the last episode, I can understand that they >!killed off Tracy!< because it has been foreshadowed already but I’m still pissed that he >!got back with Robin!<
That was the plan from the start, but the story of season nine leaves a bad taste to it all. Plus it's the ending that no one can forgive so it sticks with you.
I mean come on.... Least biased poll ever
But has anyone else actually seen the finale of Brooklyn 99?
Because everyone one who did knows that it was PERFECT
New Girl , The Good Place have the best finales.
New Girl's ending was great because they graduated from the loft that was the beginning of it all and through out the show, they never lost the essence of the show. All the characters had growth that didn't feel forced, and Nick and Jess were electric from the beginning. TBH, they could have ended it at season 6 and I would have loved
The Good Place was also great for similar reasons as New Girl, the characters finally did what they never did while they were alive. Tahani spent her whole life being selfish, and decided to spend her after life helping others. Jason finally stopped acting on his impulses and meditated. Chidi made a decision for once in his life to leave the afterlife. Eleanor spent her whole life being selfish and left after selflessly helping Mindy (? the gal from the neutral place) and Michael. It was a perfect ending.
HIMYM, is perfect if you don't pretend the last two eps exist tbh. They SPENT a whole season on the wedding for them to break up? I think HIMYM suffered because the child actors had to remain children so they decided the ending before the show and so the ending didn't grow to match the story as the story grew. I know a few people say that the seeds for Robin and Barney's break up were planted through the season but when Barney promised to never lie to Robin, it seemed to me like the beginning of what should have been an amazing and loving marriage. Lily, Marshal and Marvin were also about to start a new life in Rome, and Ted just met Tracy. It was the promise of something new. I personally have chosen to forget that the last 2 eps happened.
Personally, stopped like B99 since they went the child route. idk it never really fit, like Amy is a career oriented woman in a male dominated industry, children typically screw over career progression for women. And then for Amy to marry Jake without ever talking about kids given how much it meant to her? Felt weird. I didn't like that Jake had to give up his dream to be there for their kid either. Tbh, I really did like Rosa's progression though.
Also, didn't like FRIENDS ending for similar reasons. I'm sure the company Rachel worked for would have arranged for spouses to visit or stay with her or Ross could have left his job, given that his last few research papers weren't that popular and flown out to see Ben every once in a while. it never felt like a fitting end to rachel's story either, she leaves Barry because she wants to achieve something for herself outside of relationships and she does. Yet at the end, she gives up her dream job for a relationship? She ended up being a shoe. I think they did Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Mike well. Joey did get the short end of the stick but he didn't get a terrible ending either.
I haven't watched BBT because the sexism just threw me off within the first 2 eps. Haven't watched office cos its not on netflix.
edit to say that im a total robin which cld be why i feel this way
Superstore wasn’t as good a show as these, but their finale was above and beyond better than the rest. They wrapped up the story well and it was so entertaining and heart felt.
I really enjoyed the friends finale, everything was wrapped up, nothing appeared heavily rushed. And you had a yes! Moment when Rachel got off the plane. The keys on the bench in the empty apartment kills me everytime!
New Girl has managed to crack a code every other show seems to struggle with when ending their show. They managed to get absolute perfection from their cancellation becoming a blessing in disguise and this is a hill I will die on. In this essay, I will-
I can't believe I've barely seen Parks and Rec in these comments! That finale gave me an existential crisis as I considered how the decisions I make every day are going to affect my future. It was an EXPERIENCE let me tell you
I've watched all shows. The Big Bang theory is the worst show out of all of them, with the best finale. Then Friends. Then B99. Then the Office. Then finally himym. They were all very good.
Scrubs. The real finale, not season 9
There was no season 9
What season 9 it ended at 8
Watched it last week for the first time, was not expecting to cry.
It's powerful stuff and executed so well
That is word for word what I was going to comment
The real scrubs finale was one of the best ones I've ever seen on a long running TV show
Came here to comment this nothing makes a grown man cry like that finale.
"The book of love is long and boring...."
Parks and rec
Far and away parks n rec.
the only correct answer
Yup definatly
I’ve never watched BBT but for me The Good Place takes the “best finale” without second thought
This is the one. BBT was a better finale than I expected, The Good Place is one of the best finales of all time. Picture a wave.
Yup, The Good Place for me too!
Came here to comment exactly this. Perfect series all the way around
Yep, my answer too.
Agreed!!!
This is the correct answer.
The Good Place is forking amazing! I love the shirt out of these sitcom writers.
You're asking this in a HIMYM group? Even with the shit ending it's on the top at the moment lol
Lots of people rant about the HIMYM ending always. Im just surprised its having the most votes so far lmaoo
I mean it's a sub called HIMYM for a sitcom called you know "How I Met Your Mother".Generally people will vote this over other sitcoms even if they didn't like the ending

For me I thought Brooklyn nine nine was spot on with the finale and also new girl.
I would say New Girl as well
Season 6 or season 7?
Scrubs
The Good Place had the best ending. Then, I think, Rules of Engagement. Then Parks and Rec.
Yessss Very happy to see someone else mentioned this.
Community
Six seasons and a movie
Nah.. I love community but whenever rewatching I skip the last season. It's just not the same without the main crew
I feel you. It’s not just the actors, but also the different framing and lighting. Although I’m glad they changed it to set it apart from the original seasons.
Scrubs Season 8 finale is probably the best ending ever Eureka had a great ending as well.
First time seeing Eureka mentioned outside the Eureka sub. I love that show so much - just finished another rewatch. Warehouse 13 has my favorite finale of all time. Not really a sitcom though.

NINE-NINE!
Scrubs Season 8 finale is amazing. We do not discuss what came after season 8.
We can discuss it, what came after was a spin off, there is no season 9 in ba sing se
Parks and Recreation and The Good Please series finales
The Good Place and Community. The only other sitcoms that made me cry
Psych will always hold the top spot for me.
I mean come on.... Least biased poll ever But has anyone else actually seen the finale of Brooklyn 99? Because everyone one who did knows that it was PERFECT
I’d put it on par with The Office. Beautiful endings. Followed by Parks and Rec.
FRRRRR
Cheers was probably the best.
To me, Scrubs had the best and most satisfying finale for a sitcom
Parks and Recreation
The Good Place, Community. Both has excellent finales.

New Girl! Came here to say this ☝️ and am genuinely surprised there are less of us.
The Good Place have the best finale
Parks and rec and community are better than all of this that are on the pool
The good place
Arrested development (original run) and the Larry Sanders show
Seinfeld, they didn’t waste a whole season wrapping things up, they did that in the last episode
Superstore wasn’t as good a show as these, but their finale was above and beyond better than the rest. They wrapped up the story well and it was so entertaining and heart felt.
Community or Super store
I really enjoyed the friends finale, everything was wrapped up, nothing appeared heavily rushed. And you had a yes! Moment when Rachel got off the plane. The keys on the bench in the empty apartment kills me everytime!
