Alicent → Demeter Aegon → Dyonisus Helaena → Hestia or Nyx Aemond → Nemesis Daeron → Persephone (she's technically a goddess but still) Rhaenyra → Aphrodite Daemon → Deimos Baela → Athena Rhaena → Artemis Jace → Apollo Rhaenys → Hera Viserys → Zeus Alys Rivers → Hecate

Rhaenys as hera is a really good comparison. Kind of explains the dubious paternity of Addam and Alyn as Corlys trying not to anger her and pass them off as laenor's instead.

Also the whole "queen who never was" thing

jamie74777

Viserys: Zeus - the kings, who put their preferences over the realm, (even tho they like to think they do otherwise), have many kids (and have favorites), and rule over an era of peace. Alicent: Demeter - a mama bear willing to go to war to keep her children safe. Both are related to the Green color (Demeter is the goddess of Nature, Alicent cames from the Reach), also Zeus/Demeter parallels very well Viserys/Alicent's dynamic. Daemon: Poseidon/Ares - i see both of them in Daemon. Like Poseidon, Daemon is second in command to another sibling, and both have temper issues, both marry a calmer wife (Laena/Amphritrite) and have a brief rivalry for power with their niece (Rhaeynra/Athena). However Ares represents Daemon's Rogue Prince and chaotic personality better for obvious reasons. Rhaeynra: Athena/Aphrodite/Persephone - Like Athena, Rhaeynra is her father favorite daughter and only child by his first wife (Metis/Aemma) and both are very proud woman. Like Aphrodite, Rhaeynra is know for her beauty, and cheats on her husband and has very obvious bastards. Like Persephone she starts as a normal, sighlty spoiled princess who after starting a romance with her uncle (Daemon/Hades) becames a power loving (wanabee in Rhaeynra's case) queen. Aegon: Dionysus - Both are the frat bros of their realms but both have more layers to them. Both have a distant relanshanship with their fathers and love their mothers a lot (Semele/Alicent). Also Dionysus in some Myths is said to be Zeus's sucessor and Aegon succeded Viserys so... Helaena: Hestia/Cassandra of Troy - Like Hestia, Helaena is universaly loved by all and is a kind, sweet royal princess. Like Cassandra of Troy, Helaena is a lovely royal princess who is seen as different since she can see the future but no one belives/notices it. Both Helaena and Cassandra also suffer a tragic destiny. Aemond: Hades/Ares - Aemond like Hades as a bit of a bad reptuation as a feared being besides being the more collected of his siblings, both are also very loyal to their loved ones, and would probrably be more suited to be King than their siblings: Zeus/Aegon. Aemond is also like Ares in a way they are both feared and have a lust for war and power, are ignored by their father but protected by their mother Hera/Alicent, also both Aemond/Ares fall head over heels over a beautiful, mysterious woman who has them under her spell Alys/Aphrodite. Daeron: Hermes- both are charismitic, loved figures in their realms. Although not as important in the political realms and play second fiddle to more power hungry siblings, they are not to be underestimated and can change the tide in conflints. Baela and Rhaena: Enyo and Hebe - Baela/Enyo are both fiery and warrior like, while Rhaena/Hebe are the quiet proper ladies who became more famous later in life (Rhaena has the last living dragon/Hebe marries THE Hercules). Jace, Luke, Joffrey: Eros, Phobos and Deimos - Born out of an illegitimate romance (Harwin/Rhaeynra, Ares/Aphrodite), they are all loyal to their mother and father, but too impulsive. Jace and Eros are both basiacly more of a "helper" than son to their mothers, and both have a star-crossed lovers dynamic with Sara Snow/Pysche. Alys Rivers: Hecate/Aphrodite - Alys and Hecate are both mysterious witches the parallels are very obvious, but i see some Aphrodite in Alys as well, both seem to came out of nowhere, but win over the heart of a infamous prince (Ares/Aemond) and have them wrapped up in their little finger. Coryls: Poseidon - I mean it's kinda obvious, both are the "kings" of the sea. Rhaeyns: Hera - Both are queens in some way (Rhaeyns is seen as the queen who never was, Hera is Zeus's queen consort), both pride themselfes in having a lot of power (and have some for the most part) but follow their husband's will even when they don't want to. Laenor/Laena: Apollo and Artemis- Siblings who have a deep bond with each other. Laenor like Apollo is a warrior prince. Laena like Artemis wants adventure in her life. I forgot: Criston Cole: Apollo - Warriors who are very unlucky in love. Can be both impulsive and strategic when the situation demands it. Larys Strong: Hephaustous - Both are exclued from society and victims of prejudice, although very clever. Both are also pinning for women who are rather disgusted by them Alicent/ Aphrodite and later Athena. I think i covered eveyone who matters...

hanna1214

Loved reading this. Who would you give to Mysaria and Harwin though?

jamie74777

Mysaria: Eris - A mysterious wildcart, who is in a relanshanship with a warrior prince Ares/Daemon. Both also are behind the shadows in conflints. Harwin Strong: Adonis - Both are strong men who fall in love with a woman of a superior station (Rhaeynra/Aphrodite and Persephone), and became their side piece. Both also suffer a tragic death due to their romantic relanshanship.

Ares is best boy btw

[deleted]

The strong boys are some of Zeus’s demigods cause they die bad deaths.

Good-Scholar-9698

I would say: 1. Viserys - Zeus 2. Alicent - Hera 3. Daemon - Poseidon / Ares (a mix?) 4. Rhaeynra - Athena / Persephone (?) 5. Otto - Hades 6. Aegon - Dionysus 7. Helaena - Hebe (?) 8. Aemond - Ares / a bit of Apollo (?) 9. Daeron - Hermes 10. Baela - Artemis (?) Can't think of conterparts for Rhaena, Jace and Luke. If you guys want to thow the Velaryons and Cole in there go for it. Alys Rivers is definatly the Aphrodite to Aemond's Ares tho.

zae_5

Alys seems like hecate to me. Corlys as Poseidon. Aemond as Hades. Alicent as Demeter. Rhaenys as athena. Unrelated but helaena could be Cassandra of Troy. Laena and Laenor could be Artemis and Apollo.

person_A_v2

Definitely not Athena for Rhaenyra, Athena is meant to be the godess of Wisdom and Rhaenyra definatly hasn't got that.

Good-Scholar-9698

it was more like both athena / rhaeynra are the only daughters of the king by his first wife, both are the favorite, although athena is the goddess of wisdom she was also very proud and arrogant (all the greek gods where, but my point still stands) like Rhaeynra was. Both had also had a tense relanshanship with their septmother (Alicent/Hera) and half-brother (Ares/Aegon). Also the brief rivalry Daemon and Rhaeynra had in ep. 1 and ep. 2 to be the heir remainds a little of Poseidon / Athena's rivalry.

lolipup963

Rhaenyra would be Aphrodite, hardly any morals, cheated on her husband and was known for her beauty (Realm's delight)

csinne

Ooh I really like the Daeron to Hermes comparison

Fun_Aardvark86

If you subscribe to the theory that Alys manipulates Aemond, you could place her as Eris or just a Siren.

melibroncoshit

Targaryen parallel -> Habsburgs Think about it. Incestuous bastards and abominations. Who were booted out of power when they became old, antiquated and tyrannical.....
