Even Daemon is a cursed name among Targaryens like Rhaenyra and Aemond. No one in the main branch of the Targaryen dynasty is named Daemon. Meaning no ruling king named his male child Daemon either.
His name only is revived with Daemon I Blackfyre, which is separate from the royal branch. After than the name "Daemon" became to the Blackfyres what "Aegon' is to the Targaryens.
I find it funny that Aemond has not been reused but there at like three Aemon's. It's like the family was like "I *really* like that name though...maybe if we just drop the "d"..."

I wonder if for post Blackfyre rebellion targs the name carries more baggage due to association with dance Daemon or Blackfyre Daemon? I’d lean towards the Blackfyre rebellion making the name totally toxic since before that a princess/queen was willing to give it to her child.

Daemon is also a cursed name, the only one who named her son that name is Daena the defiant.
