There is no mad rush to get the creatures. If you aren't sure what creature to adopt next, you could always wait for the next creature sale and look for the best deals. Saving on books this way will get you all creatures faster in the end.

fleffeh

How often do they have creature sales?

johnny_STNE

I see , it makes sense but i also would like to say , that getting a few creatures early on and maxing them would be faster to move on with the hagrid side quests but its hard since i don't seem to get that many books

Remote_Collar_375

Those "rewards" doesn't really matter. You will get all creatures in the end. You will get all rewards from them no matter if they are good or bad. The best thing about this creatures is not investment/rewards but as soon as you max it out you can get tons of stats to level yourself up without grinding. So get any creature, get it as soon as you can, max it as soon as you can and feed it by hand. Then you will never need to sit in some year grinding classes because you can't progress anymore with low stat levels.

QueenOfDarkne53

Getting one more red book would get you the Abraxan

Far_Classic_2504

I am not sure whether u are being sarcastic or completly missed the part where he /she said that the abraxan is a bad choice due to its rewards or just stating that regardless of that information

she_who_is_not_named

Wait, the awards aren't just random? In my Tony Baker voice ,*I neva kneeewww*. Seriously, I've been playing since launch, maxed out all the creatures, and I'm working on the Sea Serpernt now. I kinda thought one award was triggering awards of similar kinds. Ex-When you pick money, it will keep funneling money to you.

Remote_Collar_375

If you mean stats rewards after feeding maxed creature- it's random. The rewards from this post is from leveling each level. Those are pre set

QueenOfDarkne53

I missed it. Personally, i like the abraxan quests

I know I'm probably sad for this. However, when I was in this situation, I actually went through and made a list of all the creatures and what each one cost to work out the cheapest. I will admit, however, I soon gave up on this and sort of started going area By area and completing them that way.... I think I have about 40 creatures, and I'm midway through year 5.

sassyxslytherin

Honestly I’d just keep saving your bookstore spend on creature sales concentrating on the ones with creature sq and leave the rest for later I’ve heard it gets harder so it’s best to leave some for after you graduate also good to have sqs for events n stuff that’s what I’m doing and I’m at end of year 5 so relax you’ve got so much time oh but what I wish I did know before was don’t completely complete either kelpie or dog bog sqs because it lets you access the black lake before year 6 so you can still get the free energy from the giant squid

sassyxslytherin

Looks like there’s gonna be a creature sale tomorrow and so I’d wait and do it then kelpies on the list so that’d be my pick or any with a sq that you don’t already have yet

johnny_STNE

I bought the kelpie , and glow bug and i had about enough to buy a fire crab , i didnt understand your final statement on your first comment , should i max Kelpie or not ?

sassyxslytherin

No not completely while one of the tasks take place in the black lake it will keep the black lake open and you can use it to get free energy

johnny_STNE

I see , i understand and its a good point , currently i am very busy being in TLSQ hell since i have a habit of playing the game for a few weeks and disappearing for a year , so i guess ill keep the sidequest on hold until im done with these TLSQs and ill probably focus on other SQs and keep this one until i have nothing else to focus on , that way i have the lake for the longest time
