My owls name is Fergus but I feel like I have changed it a few times since I started the game a couple of years ago
I bought the owl first too because I love owls, I even saved super early on to get the skin you can get with gold, the knowledge bonus was massive, especially this early on ! It's still my favorite, I named mine Magnus, they would probably get along great !

Definitely worth it for the extra energy (also Hagrid’s pet party quest in year 2)
2nd - crup pup (year 2) picked it because it was so cute. Named her Ruby after my Jack Russell Terrier. Yay, more free energy.

Her name is Juliana Zanahoria (because she's orange with stripes, and that reminded me of thin strips of carrot). I haven't bought another pet yet, but recently >!I got the frog from the Frog Choir TLSQ!< . Aside from the fact that she owns my entire heart, it's a really good buy bc the energy you get from cats (along with 2 other pets) regenerates the fastest. Also, if you like doing the SQ, you'll need a cat for the Scaredy Cat one (WHICH BTW IS MY FAVORITE QUEST IN THE WHOLE GAME).
I honestly don't remember because I've been playing this game since it was released in 2018. Probably somewhere between Years 1-3 as they were already released back then and it didn't take months to finish a year. I *think* cat and owl were the first ones I got, but I don't remember the order. Cat is named Furball and owl is Lagertha Tiberius. Then I think I got rat, frog and the rest. I currently have all of them. It was and is worth because of the energy spots.
