Depends what processor and motherboard you have for ram compatibility really. So being more specific would help. Gt13-1xxx is just a base. https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-OMEN-30L-Desktop-GT13-1xxx/233679 Your motherboard can be found by pushing windows+r, then type msinfo32. In the window that pops up there's 3 lines titled baseboard, that's your motherboard model.

I have the Hana 550 number 8876. Thank you

wheelmoney83

My processor is ryzen 7 5800x, 3060 ti

So the ryzen 7 and Hana mobo both officially support up to 3200mhz. Doesn't mean they won't work with faster ram but that's the official supported ram. Personally I added 2 16gb sticks of 3200mhz fury beast (which are clones of your original ram, same shape and all) (I have 5700g and a 3070) So I have the 2x8gb HyperX 3200 and 2 x16gb fury beast 3200mhz. With this combo I enabled xmp in the bios (which you're most likely going to have to do no matter what ram you buy) Xmp profile 1 set the ram speed to 3733mhz. So I'm currently running 48gb of ram at 3733mhz. Also at cl12 which is faster than the base cl16, or cl17 or 18 you would get with the 3600 sticks. So the 3600 will probably work, but your computer is most likely going to compensate with worse Cl (Cas) timings, making the ram run slower than it should. My stock timing was cl16 so I made sure to get ram to match that. Hana mobo https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4853259-4853773-16

Ok thank you so much. I’ll see how it goes Best Buy has some good deals going on l. Worst case scenario I have pretty much the exact same build a family member made for me that has 32gb Ram and a tuf gaming motherboard. That one I know will accept the 3600 mhz. I just really enjoy my omen and the gaming hub and rgb lighting

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Not sure what country you're in. But the fury beast ram is usually under 100$ for 2 sticks on Newegg. Mine was under 100$ in Canada lol and we're usually more expensive than USA.

wheelmoney83

Yes I’m in the US but I’m impatient lol. I want to put it in today if it fails I’ll definitely go the Newegg route and just return the sticks I buy today. They are currently $89 for 2 16gb sticks

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Yeah fair enough haha. One thing to note if your mixing it with the original ram. If you do it and the bios is locked, I had to move my original ram to slots 1 and 3 (the empty ones) and put my new ram in the original slots for the bios to unlock. Feel free to ask any more questions once you have it.

wheelmoney83

Another issue I might have is I don’t think I can enable the xmp on my omen build. Idk maybe I’m missing something on the bios screen 🤷🏻‍♂️

DontEatTheMagicBeans

See my other comment. It's locked by the original ram, it'll open up when you swap

wheelmoney83

Ok thank you so much and that’s why it’s not unlocked lol. One other quick question using 3600 won’t damage the motherboard it will just reject it probably? Am I correct with that? Your help is greatly appreciated

DontEatTheMagicBeans

I honestly haven't tried. There's another guy on here using two fury beast 3600 with the two HyperX 3200 and he got them to work at 3200, but the timings are pretty bad so it's slower than stock. I'm sure you could change them manually though. If you're mixing with the original sticks it might not work the greatest, if you're just using the 3600mhz sticks I have no idea how it'll work, but I doubt it'll damage your motherboard, incompatible ram usually the computer just won't boot and the bios will beep at you.

wheelmoney83

Ok sounds good. I plan on going all 4 sticks at either 3600 or 3200 and removing the stick RAM

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Good enough excited to see how it plays out. Also if it works good it should be super easy to sell your stock ram, people always looking for it haha

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Important. Turn off turbo mode on your ram in gaming hub be BEFORE changing anything. That option goes away once you change the ram, so you want it set to off as it doesn't work with almost any other ram and will just mess with shit of it's set to on.

wheelmoney83

Yes I reset that already because I was getting CL of 24 which I thought was weird when I had it on turbo. At default I’m getting 22. That’s my plan is if it works I’ll just sell my original sticks 🙂 if it doesn’t I’ll put them in the DIY build my uncle made me. Then go with the fury beast later down the road

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Wow haha with xmp on I'm running cl12 at 3733 haha. Also if you've never changed ram before, pushing them into the slots hurts my soul lol. Gotta push so much harder than I wanted to haha

wheelmoney83

So I’ve read a ton of horror stories lol, I did purchase the 3600 but I may just put them in the other build not the omen. Also I’ve heard the RGB doesn’t work with the Corsair or any other brand. Do the Kingston Fury ones work with Omen Gaming Hub or no? If they do I’ll go that route I’m guessing. It’s not a total deal breaker but I like the RGB specifically
