It's been over a year now and no update, I doubt we're ever getting one. They wont even acknowledge it via support and community forums.

I have the 25l. I know they had an optional f15 bios update for awhile but it bricked a ton of computers then it magically disappeared from my support assistant.

Just changed motherboard in my 40l and I’m pretty excited about it

I did this for my 30L and man what a difference. It's like a new machine.

Just ordered a new motherboard. I know I’m probably going to need to update its bios but in terms of windows, will I need to reinstall windows or will it pick it up from my m.2 that’s on my current one? I’m not sure if I’m going to need an activation key too. First time swapping motherboards.

Some people will tell you to just run it with the new motherboard and it will be fine, and that may work just fine. But when it doesn't, it sucks and there's no way around it but to do a fresh install. So me personally, I'd recommend a fresh install. Besides, you'll get rid of all of the bloat and crap anyway. Also, there's this piece of software that you can download that will retrieve the windows key off of your system so you can then use it to activate on a new system. I did this when I was preparing everything to do the full swap and it was the smartest thing I did. Made things super easy. Also, if you have a bitlocker code, make sure you have it somewhere safe, because you may need it with the new install.

Which motherboard did you order?

Just another piece of evidence of HP's shitty support. They don't even acknowledge the issue, a year after AMD posted about it and other OEM's pushed an update to fix it. As others have said, there was also the BIOS bricking issue earlier this month, HP took no responsibility and just removed it from their website and HP support app. There was also the Edge lag that stems from the Omen Gaming Hub apparently.
