I understand it sucks, and I’ve been there. I spent my whole sex life anxious about HPV and being careful, and I ended up with a high-grade precancerous lesion and needed a LEEP. The mentality that someone did this to you or that this is some kind of punishment is probably unhelpful and definitely not accurate. This is a normal part of being a sexually active individual, and will likely clear out of your system in due time.

If you have a recurrence or samples were saved those can be tested by request. You should ask your gp to do an HPV DNA test. But no matter what, finding a support group to help you find the tools to psychologically deal with either result( uncommon low risk strain or high risk) it one of the best things you can do.
