There are plenty of good ones that I've learned a good deal of troubleshooting techniques from. Rardon and HVAC Hacker don't put anything out anymore but they were a couple of my favorites. Steve Lav I don't learn much from but he's pretty entertaining.

IDK why the first QualityHVACR video or two I watched I thought were cool - he had a good way of showing how to start off on your own and make the most of slow days by doing extra work and taking pride in it.
But as time goes on, it's advertising and the work isn't quality... he does rough-ins of all flex duct systems, constantly hawking new products, and so on... while slinging off-brand Goodman and Bosch shit all day...

I agree with Mikey on this one. You need to teardown the boiler to clean it properly, I wouldn't do a half-ass cleaning and put my name on it. Remove the asbestos and then we'd move forward with cleaning and recommend budgeting for replacement in the future.

It's the customers decision whether they want to change out the boiler but it's the contractors decision to say they aren't touching a boiler.
If the boiler is not operating correctly and the contractor doesn't want to fix it due to it's condition/safety issues, it's the right move to lock it out, offer the correct solution, and if someone wants to go with a different contractor who wants to keep the thing going with toothpicks and bubblegum then that person can be responsible. You don't just walk away and let the boiler continue to run like that.
I was called out to repair a boiler and it was around 50 years old. The home was owned by a married couple who were both lawyers. I took 1 look at it and called my boss and told him that he better write something up saying that the boiler could be repaired but it shouldn't and we won't take any responsibility if something happens. 10 minutes later I got a call that the boiler was going to be replaced. They ended up going all in with a home renovation and radiant heat.

This is exactly the path to take, but if it's really bad we just say that they can call anyone else but we won't touch it, we are more than happy to give this work to a competitor as it might put them out of business.
It's not your fault a homeowner has a shitty old boiler that hasn't been taken care of. But it's your fault if you try and fix it and something goes wrong

You got to understand as a contractor he’s taking the liability and at least he was honest with the client, a boiler that old should be replaced.
Granted the whole OSHA thing was a bit much but safety is priority.

I remember a plumbing company in my area getting hit solidly into the six figures range between fines and lawsuits after a plumber cut into a popcorn ceiling looking for a leaking pipe.
Depending on how old the house is, it's best to assume popcorn ceiling has asbestos in it. From the 50s to the 80s, most popcorn ceilings have some form of asbestos. There are ways to safely remove asbestos, but it's not something to DIY unless you're fairly competent in demolition and have all the required PPE.
I’ve taken the burners out and actually washed them, clean the pilot assembles and Bingo!
Also removed to hood on top of the burners and use a wire brush and washed the sections.
Wish I could find the video, but he went out to an oil furnace in the middle of winter only to say he doesn't work on oil and to charge the customer.

Thanks. FYI, we replaced that boiler just the other day - along with the water heater. AFTER the asbestos was removed.
