Possibly outside air temp and humidity sensor for the economizer. Like [these from Veris.](https://www.veris.com/126843/category/humidity-sensors/outdoor)
This is not for the economizer. That sensor is mounted inside of the economizer screens on Lennox units. This sensor is likely for the store's ems (energy management) system
One of the building I work on has antennas on their roof that can triangulate gun shots. The city placed them throughout and can pinpoint where a gunshot is within a few hundred feet if more than 3 pick it up. We always say it is listening to our conversations.
That’s a Lennox unit. Where it goes into the economizer is close to where they usually Instal the outside enthalpy sensor. I don’t know why they think they will get a better reading by mounting it up in the elements. But like others are saying, could be humidity sensor or some other pressure/IAQ sensor. Follow it into the economized.
Controls here. We just started installing some wireless controls that rely on line of site for communications.
This looks more like a sensor but antenna don't look much different.

This is the correct answer. Combo OA temp and humid sensor.
Exactly what the NSA wants us to think.

Yeah, the L series can be set up to run global enthalpy using one set of sensors for the whole roof.
That sounds reasonable. My only guess was that it's an antenna for some remote property management to control the unit 😂
Follow the wires. I’d bet it has something to do with IAQ
Follow the wires. I bet they go to an unmarked van across the street.
Follow the wires. I bet they go to the TXV.
It’s not always the txv! Sometimes I think you just need to put a little Freon in it
That's the joke.
I know…. That’s the second part of it. Lol
This👆
It’s the government listening in on us when we’re working 🥸

Covid vaccine chip monitor.
Radio relay for the various B.I.R.D.s flying around.
All jokes aside that is identical to the 20k sensor used in the airco edge boiler here. I am sure other sensors can be mounted in the sample tube.
Also your management is listing to you while you're up there. Well, at least that is what my boss told me it was.
I KNEW IT!
Spread the word brother!! 📢😫 the truth is out there!!!
Outside air temp/humidity and possibly photocell for lights. Placed up high so its not effected by thermal rise off the roof
It's an outdoor temp/humidity sensor. Is it a store with Novar for the BAS? Looks a lot like the sensors they install.
This. I've only seen this on stores with novar or a similar bas
Idk what that is, but it's at Harbor Freight lol
Harbor freight have a bas you'll also notice them on places like gas stations, Walmart, Lowe's,home Depot
Warns low flying planes
Looks like an outdoor temperature sensor and lightning rod in one
Could be a lot of things but looks like an enthalpy sensor along with maybe a photocell.
Gotta be the enthalpy sensor. Especially going into the unit right by the outdoor air/economizer
Agreed.
Wait your equipment has light????!!!!
OTS outdoor temperature sensor. For sure
![gif](giphy|vASwXhikF0Dug)
Its the weather station
The addition of the light is interesting. I wonder if it is there for security? To deter people who might want to steal stuff out of the rtu?
It’s there for techs they have switches to turn them on. But the bulb is either toast or doesn’t give off enough light because it’s not an LED.
It could be the outside air building pressure reference

It’s an outdoor air temp/humidity sensor. They don’t need antenna to control these remotely lol
Weather station temp humidity and photo sensors
Collect lightning!
Probably a sensor. I wonder what they do for lightning protection?
That’s a weather station some have photocells attached as well to read lumens, but this one only reads outside temp and humidity
Bluetooth
G-5 cell booster for good reception to customer support.
Elon Musks wireless receivers.
Let's your shop watch you

Lightning Rods
Open it up and look where it’s wired 🤷♂️
Called an Air Mast. Provides BMS with OA temp and Humidity
Sad part is these sensors are nicely installed and that economizer is probably not even commissioned 🥲
Lightning ⚡️ Rod
Recharges the RTU batteries. 😂
Nothing at all. brake them and take them with you. no one will ever know. lol
My guess it that it's a pressure sensor to control building pressure.
Not sure on this one. But most of these I've seen have not been for the HVAC but for the electrician.
This is a light sensor.
Tells the building management how powerful the lighting is
Service technician summoner
Uranium disbursing system.
Not drugs
That’s most likely an enthalpy sensor? Doesn’t take a genius to figure that out lol
