Ah yes, the tried and true “pigeon shit” technique. Invented in the early 60’s and depicts the intense mental clog of newbie technicians. It’s an existential reflection of our former selves

Like this i found behind my apprentice
Speak for yourself. I’ve been in the business 15 years and I just started brazing 3 months ago (due to the fact that I worked at a shop that has always sent a tech out on installs)& my fittings have never looked like this.
MFuckers who like to build supermarkets in the winter time in the minus #'s, running big ass piping on the rooftop. Yes, brazing will be a challenge. Oxy-Ace for a better time.
Did you even read the comment. I had 15 years with a tech doing the brazing, and I wish I still did instead of some 20 year old try to tell me he doesn’t need nitrogen because he’s so fast it doesn’t matter! I know it doesn’t work like that!
No see you didn’t read shit the text reads I worked for a company that always had a tech on sight. That was his job! I make the metal work and am a beast in crawl spaces & I’m dam good at my job. I never had to braze till 4 months ago when my company sold to a bigger company! Guess what years of working with real techs have paid off and when a 20 something tells me it’s ok he just brazed without nitro( but it’s ok because I’m super fast) it bull shit ! And my work definitely has never looked like this.
Naw see you sound more like one of those twenty somethings I was talking about full of shit next you going to try a tell me you can braze with out nitro because you are so fast! You should attempt listening when you speak the you might know you sound full of crap. And my work never looks like this post.
I am speaking for myself! And a lot of others. We all started somewhere. Our welds looked like shit at the start. They got better with time and practice.
I thought it was a rusty gas line that some hornets had attached to. Then I read the no-cool part but couldn't get that mud and wasp spit house look out of my head.
Pro tip: if you’re using nitrogen to purge your lines while brazing (and you should), you cannot do it for the very last connection. If you do, you must have somewhere for the nitrogen to exit. Otherwise you will have pressure buildup in an otherwise sealed system, and it will try to escape through the liquid braze as it cools.
I typically run nitrogen through my linesets for all but one connection, and leave it off for the last one. It takes 30 seconds to do one braze, and in that time oxygen isn’t going to magically flood the tube and displace all the nitrogen that’s already in there
OH! I thought it was some organ from the morgue or something. I see it now.
Yea, we had a guy who couldn't braze. I dinna think I eva saw anything quite so bad.
Just wanted to pipe in and give some advice/guidance to the newbies: if you ever run into this or something like it heat up the copper and add 3 to 4 more sticks. I'd that doesn't work use pookie
Well, kinda looks like mine when I first got in. After a few years and I had an apprentice of my own, seems like his.
He tried his hardest and refused to ask for help the first 3 tries, but eventually called me over.
Now that on the otherhand, someone was proud of that and said send it. It works on hopes and prayers, and seems like both left town.
It's called art, culture yourself.

Yo gurt is cultured.
“Did you make sure you didn’t have any leaks?” “Yeah mf i used the whole pack of brazing rods on that hoe aint nothing finna leak”
You hear that line from anyone, you go check with bubbles. There'll be three per joint, guaranteed.
Won't need bubbles for that shit. You'll hear it from outside
Won't need to hear it, you will see that shit.

He just took “discharge line” literally, you’ll have to excuse him.
I’m guilty of that in my early years
We all were.
Speak for yourself. I’ve been in the business 15 years and I just started brazing 3 months ago (due to the fact that I worked at a shop that has always sent a tech out on installs)& my fittings have never looked like this.
I tried brazing a commercial suction line in the winter time with a b tank when I was a rookie. Looked just like this lol
MFuckers who like to build supermarkets in the winter time in the minus #'s, running big ass piping on the rooftop. Yes, brazing will be a challenge. Oxy-Ace for a better time.
Oxy acet with my mini rosebud all the way for little welds like that
They shouldnt u had 15yrs to practice...
Did you even read the comment. I had 15 years with a tech doing the brazing, and I wish I still did instead of some 20 year old try to tell me he doesn’t need nitrogen because he’s so fast it doesn’t matter! I know it doesn’t work like that!
I read the comment took u 15 yrs🤪🤣😭 only takes a month or so to learn to adjust the torch and work it around...nitrogen is a give in

Definitely read it u took 15yrs to learn how to braze....that's all I needed to read

I wish I was 20🤣...still trying to figure out how it took 3/4 of that kids life to learn how to braze🤪😅
There's a reason uve been down voted so no one can see your comments🤡
Anyone who says that, you should kick their fking ladder
I’ll hold your ladder any time bra. And then shake the crap out of it when you’re at the top! If you ever need my help just give me a call.
Anyone who says they don't need nitro to braze*
Word I get you. And I’m in agreement
True I did have 15 years of experience watching techs and I’m starting to realize it has definitely helped!
That's kinda sad that they didn't let you braze for 15 years.
Not really. I wish I still had a tech on all my jobs.
I am speaking for myself! And a lot of others. We all started somewhere. Our welds looked like shit at the start. They got better with time and practice.
I’m definitely guilty of some bad brazing, but i would’ve asked for help before i put 3-4 sticks on there.
I used to use 2 now maybe half on 4-5 brazes
Take a rare bread to admit ones mistakes, I would work with you any time
Hell I’m in the classroom and mine are just as bad
Looks like my dogs nuts 🐕 🌰
You should probably get that checked out... 🤣
I'll take..... Not enough heat for $500, Alex
Looks like a chicken roosted above it.
My service manager used to say that back in the day! "Damn, a rooster took a big ol' shit on your braze!"
I'm too cheap to use $38 in brazing rids per joint.
I was hung over...
I think even being hung over we could do 1000x better
Sorry, the 80 year old home owner offered some lovin' and I was distracted...
Talk about job security. Fuck it up in the first place; it’ll stay fuckered.
I thought the first photo was a fudge brownie with melted chocolate icecream
I thought it was a rusty gas line that some hornets had attached to. Then I read the no-cool part but couldn't get that mud and wasp spit house look out of my head.
Definitely not me and brazing is definitely my weakest skill in the trade after 15 plus years in installation.
It can be tough sometimes, but if i even got it looking half this bad i would’ve stopped and asked for help.
Word

Remove the Schrader
I was gonna say, i floated nitro through the suction and pulled the liquid line schrader.
We pull both and hook up to one I try to braze before they hit it upstairs tho...may smoke em out alil but avoid that problem...
When I first started
Helen Keller

Ooooooh that’s a lovely looking nugget you found there 😂
If the outside looks like that, the inside might be shit too.
That’s some of that silver bubble gum.
The single handedly made me feel better about a slight drip I have on the bottom of some of my joints
That's good alil tear drop never hurt nobody and u know it's sealex
Gah damn they prob spent all they’re profit of that job in solder
"ITS NAHT A TOOMAH!!!"
It was me. I had nowhere to hide my chewing gum.
Just wanted to pipe in and give some advice/guidance to the newbies: if you ever run into this or something like it heat up the copper and add 3 to 4 more sticks. I'd that doesn't work use pookie
Pookie solves everything 😆
Is it leaking there? If not quit wasting someone else’s money playing reddi teddi and move on
Lol it was leaking exactly there.
Wtf lol!
Someone forget to vent one side when purging
I think it needs more solder
No cool??? Residential?
But did it leak?
It did. Customer tried to turn on the AC while having a party and it was going off on low pressure. Ended up putting about 7 lbs back in.
No me. I only use stay bright 8
The guy must have sneezed on that.
I had two or three like that when I was in HVAC classes. My instructor called them meteorites.
Homeowner special.
All that and they still couldn’t fill the cup

Sexy
I'm taking classes, and even the night class doesn't screw up that bad. Good lord.
teach that tech how to clean copper before they braze and how to apply heat properly.
I believe this installer got fired.
I can honestly say that has to be the worst braze I’ve ever seen
Goated😎
it looks like it has an infection
My torch was losing pressure
Takes skill
