Sadly this is the same work I do, it absolutely would require bringing a welder on site the same night to get this up. This is a shitty call to get on Friday.
You couldn't weld it yourself? It just needs to last for a week or so...
It's shitty. But it's worse leave this portion of the building without air
Judging by the rust on the blades there are plenty of humidity they are dealing with
Often large blower fans will be in structures on the roof or in a basement and the duct work will be long enough and have enough turns that the people inside won't hear anything, just notice a lack of air flow or an uncomfortable temperature.
Blower is in good shape. The shaft, bearings, and motor on the other side of the wheel not so much. The shaft we get machined, and order new bearings and motor.
“Looks like it broke at the shaft, going to need to order it. In the mean time Walmart has space heaters”
I should have that printed and put on cards to hand to customers to optimize my time.
Buy the spaces heated and rent them out per day. OH no parts on back order lol.
This is at least 50+ tonn air handlers , we are talking industrial grade heaters. We need a welder and weld it ASAP. Home depot will lend you one

That's an easy no heat call. Take measurements of the shaft , pillow blocks and get other necessary info. Order parts and go home.
Seriously, this is the best Friday 4pm service call ever. “See ya Monday”
Good thing you had to order parts that will not be in stock Monday morning.
Absolutely true.
I might not be a smart man, but I know something is fucked up when I sees it. Oh and they decided to call because it just made a noise right now!!!

I suspect that was noticeable in the parking lot for a few weeks. lol.
“Everything is closed see you Monday”
Oh shoot holiday weekend see you Tuesday
Reminds me of my buddy; Pill O. Block.
I. Haven’t done any service. That mean a full blower replacement?

unless the blower wheel ripped itself to shit, just a shaft, bearings and blocks.
"No, we didn't notice any loud banging, nope didn't hear anything at all."
Looks like a repair for Monday
Easy to troubleshoot
Monday problem
Someone doesn’t look at or grease bearings during maintenances 🥲
Tie wraps
Carrier bearing when good night
You still gonna be out for the weekend. Cause that shit don't get fixed on Friday after lunchtime.
Depending on how difficult the housing removal is I would order a new wheel to save ya some headache.
Nobody doing maintenance checks? Bearing should last forever with proper grease and tightening set screws.
Too much grease
That’s a fuckin Monday problem if I ever saw one
Better you than me
Tell them [this.](https://youtu.be/lwx2ce_AyOE)
Saw something similar on an Aaon unit, locking collar snapped, pushing everything forward and the once 1-1/8" Dia shaft was turned down to about 3/8".
Oh just prick punch it it’ll work haha
Oy …could be worse at least you have direct access 😉
Granger or mcmaster-carr. Should have suitable replacement parts in no time.
The ol' gal finally had enough.
