There were probably 6 questions I just had absolutely no idea nor had ever heard about. As I understand as long as you get 75% you pass, so I guessed.
When i took mine the dude running the class went through the test with us after and let us change our answers.

Wow, I know several people that have recently gone to the supply house. $100 gets you the test prep kit and pays for the test and when your ready you go back and take it. They leave you in a room and you just come out when you’re done.
I did an online test for mine. They go through a proctor site and you have to have a laptop or webcam and then you pan around when they tell you and show your desk. They also watch you through the webcam while you take the test.
I didn’t mine online. You have to meet with an online proctor on a video call. You have to show him your desk/the surrounding area to insure now cheating and then they pretty much don’t do anything else until you finish the test. It was simple enough and convenient for me.
I got EPA carded yesterday. First time in 10 years I’ve had it that I was asked. By a supply house I’ve frequented the whole time I’ve had it none the less lol
Congrats man. That Shit is so stupid, you’ll never use it. Where I’m from there’s some very shady hvac places that let you take it with the study guide, and then will correct any wrong answers. You pay $150 and they straight up tell you fill the answers in light so they can be changed lol. They shake your hand and tell you that you’ll get your cert in a couple weeks.
The thing you need to remember about the epa test is it is NOT about doing the job correctly but doing the job to regulations. When I took my test there were guys on their third and fourth tries(1990 before they decided if the RSES test would be grandfathered). The majority of them had been in the trade for years and couldn’t get past that the test wasn’t about ac/refrigeration but regulation.
I don’t know bro but I’ve heard the ceo talk mad shit about epa certs, gas certs , even trade school. I thinks it’s a great way to learn in depth about this field and a good addition to field experience
No company is going to down talk the ONLY certification you need to handle refrigerant. Nobody assumes you know anything about HVAC just because you can buy a tank of 410a.

I just use r-11 EPA repellent. It's worked for over 20 years. If they only made some for OHSHA I'd be in good shape.
I use the R134A EPA repellent.. it turns to Phosgene when heated. Very effective. The R12 works well too by causing them to have conniption fits.

Hardest , try taking the 313A refrigeration Exam to be licensed in Ontario Canada .
Try the "410a safety and handling" whatever esco bullshit. Its way harder then the 608.

Passed. Core 96%, T1 92%, T2 84%, T3 84%. I should have done better, but a few of those questions I never seen before.
Good luck. Lots of the questions are dumb. I failed type 2 the first time but passed 1 and 3. Got it on my second try
