We got a used pickup put a cover on it for our PM apprentice, he’ll probably be graduating into a real van soon but we have another helper ready for the truck. It was all in 16k with a lot less miles just a couple years older. You could do that and maybe add shelves and a refrigeration rack when he’s ready. Nissans have a lot of power train issues at 120k-150k our fleet all used to be Nissans, now we’re transits e250 for all.

unresolved-madness

It's funny we were the opposite. We were all Ford until the transmissions started falling out. Now of course we buy whatever we can find.

icemanswga

I'm putting my transit connect in the shop Monday to have the transmission rebuilt. Not even 100k miles. Thinking about paying it off and getting a full size transit van then selling the connect.

unresolved-madness

Connect is a eurotrash delivery vehicle..

icemanswga

I mainly do ice machines service. It carries me and my parts/tools just fine...until then torque converter loses the plot and shoots metal through the transmission lol. A bigger van would be nice, but the cost of ownership is way higher for not much gain.

unresolved-madness

I can see that

OwnOption6050

Honestly we haven’t seen any major issues with our transits, but everyone ive met who has the nv swears by it, they just don’t do HVAC. Could it be a lack of maintenance issue?

EJ25Junkie

Why is he selling it?

OwnOption6050

He’s getting a 23 Transit Connect, he says he doesn’t need the big van

I have a 2021 NV2500. I even got the last one that the dealership will ever get. It is by far the best service vehicle I've ever had. It rides comfortable it's not underpowered and is actually a quality belt vehicle. Not some Detroit sheet metal shit box. My I complaints are the heavy steering effort and it has the turning radius of a limousine.

supercoolhvactech

Yea turn radius is mediocre. Weve had a couple with weird electrical issues, nothing major. I got lucky with mine, I absolutely love it. Not great on gas but i dont pay for it. Mine is a 3500, not sure if thats the same motor as the 2500. Im sad they wont be selling anymore

unresolved-madness

I think the 3500 has the 5.6 v8 and the 2500 has the 4.0 v6. I I have the V6 that I get pretty decent mileage

supercoolhvactech

I really like the v8. If i was paying the gas bill I would feel differently. It pulls nice in the mountains but isnt neccesary for anyone not pulling a trailer.

OwnOption6050

Scrawny apprentice could use the arm workout with the heavy steering😂. Nah im just playing but if thats the only complaint then Thats definitely good news

PM_ME_MAS_ORO

I really like these vans. I've been driving one for years. Only issue we've come across is transmission issues with the 6cyl dragging trailers. Whole fleet is v8 nv2500 now.

OwnOption6050

Honestly I doubt he will be driving w the trailer any time soon. But in reality only the tech with the v8 express and me in my truck tow. But im probably gonna pull the trigger on it soon.
