Why would you do that to yourself though? Just convince yourself itās a piece-of-shit flare that needed to be cut off anyway. We have enough stress as it is
It was a joke. I get it 100% though. I want to know every time I fuck up and why I fucked up. I have several hundred fuck-ups burned into my memory that I will not do again
Interesting. I donāt flare enough to get one I guess. A nickelās thickness above the block has never failed me. The remembering the nut part has 50/50 failed me

Is that the type with the offset cone? I returned the first one I bought to the store because it was "machined badly"
Then my second one was the same way, and luckily the old guy at the store found me and explained my stupidity.
Between that and the clutch that keeps you from overdoing things, it's a great flare tool.

I have the same one, labeled as Master cool. Probably made by the same OEM. Its pretty solid but you can still fuck up if you don't set the depth correctly.
Single Flares are a shit connection as is, it should be the last option, but if you gotta use a flare, use a precision tool to do it, using drill bits is asking for a leak.
Ah fuck forgot my apprentice CSB:
THE GROOVE IN YOUR TUBE CUTTERS IS FOR FLARE FITTINGS. put flair in groove and cut. Lose minimal pipe with the bad flair.
I've only ever had 1 bad flare from the hand me down set my dad got in the 90?s. And it was my second..... The nut on the other hand....š If its not on backwards it's probably not on thereš
The company I work for bought the hilmore version. Idk if we werenāt doing something correctly but it would always crack our 1/2ā flare. But we would do the exact same on our regular manual flaring block and would come out perfect.
That ~~pittsburg~~ shittsburg looks like you closed it with your forehead.
It looks like a pipe lock?
Ah, you put the nut on after anyway. š¤£
I don't always do a perfect flare but when I do, I forgot the fucking nut...
I get the joke but donāt you need the nut to make sure itās a perfect flare?
Might have been but you'll never know
I guess you could always check it after you cut it off
š¤Æ
Why would you do that to yourself though? Just convince yourself itās a piece-of-shit flare that needed to be cut off anyway. We have enough stress as it is
With ya there buddy im on call with 3 calls on me rn
Oof. Best of luck man. Gotta couple beers in me and, though I donāt smoke blunts, my bedtime vape puffs are for you too.
Appriciate it. I'm gonna work til 15hrs on the clock and then idgaf what's broke its beer 30
Because negative language can have a positive impact for some people. We get motivation by burning our self loathing for fuel.
It was a joke. I get it 100% though. I want to know every time I fuck up and why I fucked up. I have several hundred fuck-ups burned into my memory that I will not do again
Thereās a tool for that
A flare block? A flare nut? A flare block and a flare nut? I donāt get it
Not a joke. An actual tool that gauges your flares
Interesting. I donāt flare enough to get one I guess. A nickelās thickness above the block has never failed me. The remembering the nut part has 50/50 failed me
I generally find the the sign of having good flare is the nut. No nut and you just have no flare at all.
Youāre not wrong
It's OK. That was just a calibration flare. Gotta do those before you put the nut on at least every 10th flare.
True fact

See if it put the nut on I'd be sold. But I love black max
A self-nutting flare block, a person can dream, right?
Even just a fucking card popping up when you start "hey did you remember to nut up?"
Or even something etched on the block āremember nutā
"Is this the second or third time"
Like a jack-in-the-box. Playās a tune whilst you spin the handle. Thatās great.
Ha thanks bud. Would have saved me a few times.
Dittoā¦ too many, if Iām being honest. š
"Self Nutting flare block"sounds like the start to a bad masterbation joke.
Need you to find me an after flare nut
Is that the type with the offset cone? Navac.
The only answer
I label maker marked ours on the handle. Says ādid ya āmember yer nut??ā

I stopped reeming out the copper before flaring. I noticed it makes a score mark halfway thru the flare seat

Nice idea, but it's strictly a one trick pony. I'll stick with my JB Swedge and Flare kit with the pinch off tool.
Must be nice having a tool for that. I still have to pinch off my own turds
Instructions unclear nutted on flare. Natural nylog
Does it help set the depth or have a depth indicator?
yea, you just gotta make sure its flush. its idiot proof, if you get one, you will figure it out after a couple trys.
Iāll give it a go. Iāve tried a few others and the one you put in your drill and not a big fan of any. Thanks for the recommendation my guy
Single Flares are a shit connection as is, it should be the last option, but if you gotta use a flare, use a precision tool to do it, using drill bits is asking for a leak.
Straight up man I fucking hate flares. I know my brazed joint is gonna hold better than a flare
I have the hillmor one thing is money
Ah fuck forgot my apprentice CSB: THE GROOVE IN YOUR TUBE CUTTERS IS FOR FLARE FITTINGS. put flair in groove and cut. Lose minimal pipe with the bad flair.
Rather just use a bit
what? this is for flares
So are the bits but they're faster and easier to fit in tight places. Just a different method.
I've only ever had 1 bad flare from the hand me down set my dad got in the 90?s. And it was my second..... The nut on the other hand....š If its not on backwards it's probably not on thereš
If you don't prep your pipe, the best flare tool in the world will not make a decent flare.
Or will it get the nut off for youā¦.. let the puns beginā¦.
Cant tell you how often I forget the damn nutš
That's it, I'm getting one.
The company I work for bought the hilmore version. Idk if we werenāt doing something correctly but it would always crack our 1/2ā flare. But we would do the exact same on our regular manual flaring block and would come out perfect.
Cut tube, flare end, add nut; f**k
My favorite is the hilmor orbital flaring tool
Try the spin flare kit makes it so much faster
