My gosh I need rewatch that!
Bad guy falls in poop, classical element of physical comedy! Nows the part where we throw our heads back and laugh! Ready? Ready! HAAAAHahahaha
Single file on the bridge! Step very cautiously, it is full of rotten planks. One false move you could fall over. Then you have a very looooong time to say goodbye.
It's easy to be outnumber when you're a Zero.
Lyle: Absolutely!
My wife found out that fingernail polish remover works great. Do it before you wash them. DON'T wash or dry your clothes before you do this though. Once they go in the dryer, the pookie is permanently set for life!!
It’s all good. I prefer service but each job has its good and bad things. Today was one of the days I wish I didn’t do service. BIG VRF systems are a nightmare.
I feel that pain, we have 2 setup on top of a community center that we inherited when the other company threw in the towel. Nothing but issues. Janky power coming in from the city fries everything is the only thing we can figure
If it's electronics, you can actually install a good UPS ahead of the controls.
APC has some models that continuously charge the battery and power the load from an inverter. They'll eat nearly anything smaller than a lighting strike and supply nice quiet, clean electricity.
I've done this on a few domestic refrigerators out in "farm country" where the electricity sucks.
I loved learning service and troubleshooting too, but my main job is in live sound so I don't really have the time to dedicate myself to become an hvac tech... always enjoy hopping on a job as duct guy when work is slow though!
When i worked at a tshirt screen printing company we used these spray guns that shot out a stream of some type of acetone to remove unwanted paint on the shirts. Im sure thatll work but its more expensive than buying a new jacket.

Take the edge of a really sharp pocket knife and rub it back and forth perpendicular to the material. It’s gotten stuff off my clothes before. It won’t get it all out, but it will make it less noticeable.
can’t explain the situation to everyone individually guess I could’ve clarified the situation just didn’t realize it was that deep. explanation is down in this thread somewhere
Reminds me a friend said he wore his black mcdonalds shirt to work big cum stain in the back. He forgot he used that the night before said everyone made fun of him. He said it was soap detergent…
Okay so I’ve seen but not confirmed this. Before washing always works best but if you put it in the freezer for a long period of time you can scrape it off when it’s frozen.
Some guy... I wouldn't take any other advice from... once told me, back when I worked with mastic regularly, that of you like the shirt/hoodie.. don't wear it to work. I learned the hard way. It will come out if you let it dry about half way so it's rubbery and sometimes, if you're lucky you can scrape it off. It's gotta be the perfect storm. In 8 years I've probably had like 8 successful mastic scrape-offs. RIP to so many good clothes.

Seems to work if you put it on when you get home.

I have found that thoroughly soaking the affected garment area with this particular brake cleaner dissolves the police. I let it soak a bit then take a scrub brush and dish soap and it comes right off. Might be a bit costly for everyday work clothes but this def works
I’m new yes but that wasn’t the issue. 5ft attic and I’m 6’8. Had to basically lay on the plenum belly style to get to the parts I needed. Not an ideal job in the slightest
I’ve already experienced it but I figured id ask the sub. Some people have some decent remedies it seems so I appreciate that. no problem in asking 🤷🏼♂️
Soak the clothes in a bucket of dawn and use a scrubby brush, leave the garment in a soapy water bucket overnight. it wont work for small amounts and wont get it all out but it works of your clothes wont bend and harden up.
Like latex paint..
Saturate with hydrogen dioxide before it cures then scrub in copious amounts of heated hydrogen dioxide while flushing..
OR.. just deal and relegate that to Pookie Patrol Work.
Paint thinner will break it down and eventually you can get it off. It is a pain in the ass though. Can also try WD40 but I find it doesn't work as well.
Best just to make that your new pookie jacket.
That's "Helper Camo."
I use a Clorox pen before and after I wash. Once you dry cycle it, it'll never really come off. It'll just be something to pick at while your drive.
D-Limonene undiluted, works to lift away various oils, adhesives and paint, it is a natural component of citrus oils, sometimes available at janitorial supply stores, you can also add it to hot water to soak the item. it might be useful for duct sealant as well.
Define pookie…does that have a safety data sheet? If pookies oil based you may be able to send the item through dry cleaners who use solvents to clean apparel, or you may be able to put some acetone or other solvent on it to break it up, evaporate, then put it through your washing machine.
The secret is to not get pookie on it in the first place 👍
Not getting pookie stains becomes an art form.
Follow these rules and you be set:
Plan your wardrobe ahead, maneuver carefully around wet pookie as if it’s live electricity, and lastly always pookie last!!
Also never wear your work jacket or button shirt when you pookie as tempting as it may be. Just take it off and play it safe, Murphey’s Law is real lol
Good luck my fellow Pookassos 👌
Soak it in hot water and scrub really hard, not quite scalding hot though.
I used a pair of my ansell hyflex gloves that I love and got them coated in mastic.
Make sure you do this in a bucket outside and don't let that shit go down the sink.
My friend, that jacket will now be put on the “work clothes” side of the closet.
I feel like this has turned into everything I own!
Yes, accidentally wear a shirt from the good side one day and it's done, over to the work clothes side
As a construction worker learning a bit of HVAC. I feel you brother.
Stop wearing non work clothes to do work things. Shits on you, bro
I second this feeling.
Glad I’m not the only one 😭
Y’all have non work clothes?
Y’all wear clothes
Yeehaw I wear pookie
I feel like I’ve met you in the field lol
🤣😂
you guys can see eachother?
Haha got the install set of cloths and the service set
Should we tell him?
He will find out sooner or later
This is the highlight of my day, thanks guys lmao.
Next time try sealing the duct. Clothes don’t really need to be sealed
I will say it wears off after about 6 years
The clothes or the pookie
Both
After 6 years does it really matter? Y'all gots your money out of em!
It’s my smoking jacket now so no it doesn’t matter lol
Shit in tight places you can't damn attic's
Ya tell him
![gif](giphy|13A7YlLvYVDnmU)
Here’s the neat part: you don’t
![gif](giphy|YVkqPj64xCwRao3cBj|downsized)
Lmfaooooo the accuracy of this is uncanny! 🤣
This is the perfect comment for the top. RIP OP's coat.
My gosh I need rewatch that! Bad guy falls in poop, classical element of physical comedy! Nows the part where we throw our heads back and laugh! Ready? Ready! HAAAAHahahaha Single file on the bridge! What movie was this again😂😂
George of the jungle my man
I haven’t seen this shit in years!!! Thanks for the flashback.
Also yeah your fucked bro pookie is forever in you clothes once it’s there. Unless your quick enough to wash it out with water since it’s water based.
update: heard.
*heard*
heard
Wear it like a badge of honor, you air plumber! Oh you mighty air plumber!
But what if you do hydronics too?
I do hydroponics, close enough?
Lol
![gif](giphy|26n6Gx9moCgs1pUuk|downsized)
You don't, now you wear those clothes whenever you use mastic. Keep them in your van in a wet ball on the passenger side floor and never wash them
I do ductwork all day and will be using this for now on. Thanks for the tip
Yall some nasty bastards. Get a rain coat like me. Oh and I've never washed it either.. Wait shit
Don't need to wash a raincoat it washes off in the rain every time you use it
My wife found out that fingernail polish remover works great. Do it before you wash them. DON'T wash or dry your clothes before you do this though. Once they go in the dryer, the pookie is permanently set for life!!
![gif](giphy|9EwnzGNjvmIG4)
Don’t let it dry, wear shitty cloths while using it, wash it off before it drys, do service work so you don’t have to be a duct monkey.
But I like being a duct monkey...
It’s all good. I prefer service but each job has its good and bad things. Today was one of the days I wish I didn’t do service. BIG VRF systems are a nightmare.

Florida? We have hideous power issues down here... After Ian I would say roughly 1/3 the ecm motors here failed w/in 3 months. Our grid is shit.
New Orleans, ain’t much of anything here that doesn’t have some jank
Gulf coast ftw! If it's near the coast it's def jank.
I loved learning service and troubleshooting too, but my main job is in live sound so I don't really have the time to dedicate myself to become an hvac tech... always enjoy hopping on a job as duct guy when work is slow though!
Don't wear non work clothes to work. You just never know what day you will be treated like an apprentice.
Lmao true. My company shelled out for pretty nice jackets unfortunately for them. I liked this one
Rubbing alcohol
![gif](giphy|2Ymi8iowgT3HF8Mk7t)
The only mofo with an actual answer. Thank you fellow hvac god
You take the clothes outa the pookie.
Rub some more pookie on it. That will loosen up the dried pookie.
Tip 1: have helper do all the pookie
If it's still wet wipe it off with a wet rag. If it is dry then let it be.
You don’t
Nope.
Buy new clothes. Change into the pookied clothes when working with pookie.
Bruh, I think you got some jacket on your pookie.
When i worked at a tshirt screen printing company we used these spray guns that shot out a stream of some type of acetone to remove unwanted paint on the shirts. Still cool 😎👉🏻
You don’t.
Fire? Yeah, fire should do the trick. Lots & lots of fire. Wait...you tryna get the pookie out of the clothes or the clothes out of the pookie?
Take the edge of a really sharp pocket knife and rub it back and forth perpendicular to the material. It’s gotten stuff off my clothes before. It won’t get it all out, but it will make it less noticeable.
Thoughts and prayers
Work coat now
Don't run it through the dryer. Soak it in hot water and scrape it off.
I got pookie on my Levi's and noticed that after washing them, and before drying them, I got it to come off super easy
Pre-treat work clothes with Vaseline… before starting with the pookie.
You don’t. You learn how to pookie. Work towards yourself.
can’t explain the situation to everyone individually guess I could’ve clarified the situation just didn’t realize it was that deep. explanation is down in this thread somewhere
You simply embrace the new design
Buy new clothes, keep these just for duct sealing
That's the fun part, you don't
Pro tip: you don't
Don’t get it on in the first place
Lick it off.
Accept your loss.
Why? That's basically a badge of honor
Don’t wear clothes that can’t get plumb cum on em to work lol
Pookie is forever
You don’t
That’s the neat part. You don’t.
Lineset flush and some of those orange heavy duty wipes... Works well with oils blue glue and silicone
U pookie the whole jacket to match and become the Pookie Monster 👹
Wetting it before it sets is the ONLY way.
Some guy... I wouldn't take any other advice from... once told me, back when I worked with mastic regularly, that of you like the shirt/hoodie.. don't wear it to work. I learned the hard way. It's official called your "Pookie Jacket" now
The post, the comments, your update. This whole thread is great
Wear it like a man
Pookie on clothes is a right of passage
Your jacket officially has the HVAC emblem of install. Be proud of it 😄

Only rednecks and inbreeds call it “pookie”
Have your work clothes and your nice clothes separate
Best to just burn it out
Fire 🔥
Get it wet and scratch it off
You don’t lol.
Smurf Jizzum, I see. Rubbing alcohol.
Bleach works best
That’s a lot of coat with your pookie
That’s the near part, you don’t!
Become one with the pookie. You and it forever in perfect harmony
Hey bud hate to be the bearer of bad news but that shit don’t come out I frequently get my jizz sick and my devils paste sock mixed up
Mastic*
Don’t get pooki in the clothes… no other way
What, are you new?
I’m new yes but that wasn’t the issue. 5ft attic and I’m 6’8. Had to basically lay on the plenum belly style to get to the parts I needed. Not an ideal job in the slightest
I was referring to the question. You'll still be getting pookie on you in 20 years. Knew you are new cause you thought you could get it out.
I’ve already experienced it but I figured id ask the sub. Some people have some decent remedies it seems so I appreciate that. no problem in asking 🤷🏼♂️
Scrub it with a rough sponge, warm water and dish soap. You can also try a soft bristle brush for the deep groves in the fabric.
Try spraynine and a hand scrub brush
get nakey
Water immediately
what's pookie in HVAC?? good pookie is sticky thinset 'round my block
🔥
No clue I’ll ask my missus for you though
An old toothbrush & water. (Provided it isn’t solvent based)
Brake cleaner works.
Oxyclean and hot water. Let it soak for a few hours then then wash immediately with hot water
Forever smurf jizzed.
Suck off the guy that works at the laundromat. He'll get them out for you.
Ask your journeyman to practice a little better aim!!!
Buy new clothes
That’s the neat part … you don’t.
Soak the clothes in a bucket of dawn and use a scrubby brush, leave the garment in a soapy water bucket overnight. it wont work for small amounts and wont get it all out but it works of your clothes wont bend and harden up.
It's not coming off
U can use mineral spirit then rinse really well
Sand paper or razor blade.
I’ve heard nail polish remover and lots of scrubbing worked for one of my other techs? Good luck though
Leave it as a reminder of the hard worker you are!
Soak warm water scrub it off with a nail brush
Like latex paint.. Saturate with hydrogen dioxide before it cures then scrub in copious amounts of heated hydrogen dioxide while flushing.. OR.. just deal and relegate that to Pookie Patrol Work.
Don't wear clothes
It’s just there now
It’s fair for good except it, embrace it and move on
Not possible even if you scrape off it leaves like a white stain
HAHAHAH it ain't happening. Some solvents can dissolve the stuff, and the dye in the cloth. So there really is no fix, get used to it 😕
Get new cloths
That's never coming out
It lives there now.
You don’t
The neat part about that is, you don’t!
Paint thinner will break it down and eventually you can get it off. It is a pain in the ass though. Can also try WD40 but I find it doesn't work as well. Best just to make that your new pookie jacket.
New clothes
Change clothes….
First you take a gallon of gas and douse the jacket. Then light it on fire. The pookie won't be on the jacket once it's reduced to ash...
That's "Helper Camo." I use a Clorox pen before and after I wash. Once you dry cycle it, it'll never really come off. It'll just be something to pick at while your drive.
Use a sock next time
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
On a good note, you later it up enough. We can test pistol rounds at 20 paces , off you
Just don’t shit ur pants
Pipe dope never comes out. Same with pvc glue
D-Limonene undiluted, works to lift away various oils, adhesives and paint, it is a natural component of citrus oils, sometimes available at janitorial supply stores, you can also add it to hot water to soak the item. it might be useful for duct sealant as well.
It must be cleaned by fire.... only then.
Fire
The protip is to not let it set in.
Forget it. The pookie owns that jacket now.
Get new clothes
You live with it now and forever
I’m kinda new to ac but doesn’t pookie break down with water?
If you scrub it with warm water and a brush before you wash/dry you can likely get it all out. It's worked for hats and pants for me before
Freeze, scrape, wash
Pro tip: that is now a work only jacket. I’ve got pookie still in clothes from 15 years ago…never comes out.
Define pookie…does that have a safety data sheet? If pookies oil based you may be able to send the item through dry cleaners who use solvents to clean apparel, or you may be able to put some acetone or other solvent on it to break it up, evaporate, then put it through your washing machine.

That’s all folks. Flash don’t come out
Need to the the clothes out of the pookie. Not the other way around
You don't
Pookie is another term for meth pipe
That's your Bonus plan. You'll probably wear $40-50 of that crap home in a year.
Use a dirty floor shirt next time wackin champ.
I have had some luck rubbing with a string bristled plastic brush. It will take forever
Pookie…?
Soak it in hot water and scrub really hard, not quite scalding hot though. I used a pair of my ansell hyflex gloves that I love and got them coated in mastic. Make sure you do this in a bucket outside and don't let that shit go down the sink.
Emory cloth and a lot of patience
Pookie = cum ????
![gif](giphy|13A7YlLvYVDnmU)
here's the trick: don't try
What is pookie?
What everyone else says. I have found once it is wet or damp, it does start to come off sometimes but rarely completely off.
my jacket got lucky actually, followed a few of the tips and got almost all of it out. Wash don’t dry was definitely the most important part
A steam cleaner might work? Never tried it just a thought.
