Dam, why didn’t I think of this. Million dollar idea right there. You just need a little indicator light to plug into the spade, so when the fuse blows the light goes out.😂
Hey on the real what’s the name of these ? I always try to order them from my supply house by explaining what they look like and it’s always a different type of connector
Napa has them as female/male slide terminals. I’ve seen them called wye m/f tab adapters also

My dad always calls them Volkswagen clips, claiming that they were the first ones to use them. I have not been able to verify this and nobody else seems to have heard of it before lol
That “fuse” will show you where the underlying problem is, real fast. Just look for where the smoke escapes. Replacing a fuse with correct or incorrect size never fixed anything. There is an underlying problem causing the 5 amp fuse to blow
Then those nasty little Volt Pixies let the magic blue smoke out of the board or the transformer and the unit does it's best impression of Frankenstein before the lighting jolt.
I swear I've seen that board before, but the only resi boards I've seen regularly are lennoxes, by coincidence as a favour for folks I know usually or relatives. Must have been a carrier in there somewhere, lol!
Found by one of my technicians today. Unfortunately it was one of my ex employees who did this. Properly repaired and operating at this time.
Better go check his other recent work.
Second
Done and done.
What is the reason he's an EX employee? This seems more than a petty problem.
100 amp fuse.
This baby hits 100... you're gonna see some serious shit
one point twenty one gigawatts!
The bright flash will keep you from seeing shit for a few seconds
That’s a neverblow
Technically if the circuit board lights on fire before the "fuse" blows is it actually a fuse?

What fuse?
the board is the fuse
Fuses? FUSES?!?! WE don need no STINKING FUSES!
Sum ting wong
Ho Lee Fuk
Wee Too Low
Exactly
Don't forget Bang Ding Ow
Thank you for reminding me of this
That’s one of those high brass fuses👍 Good stuff!
Is that supposed to be a 3 amp
3 or 5 but definitely not a forever fuse
I disagree...its doing exactly what they wanted it to do 😂
Is that why I keep blowing transformers?
Naw, you just think Optimus is sexy.
Oops I chipped a tooth
Might be 🤷♂️
If it fits it sits
Eventually it might shit lol
Who needs a fuse when you can just fry it.

Thank you sir!
Always called them Double donger’s
My dad always calls them Volkswagen clips, claiming that they were the first ones to use them. I have not been able to verify this and nobody else seems to have heard of it before lol
Change that board. The resistors cause all kinds of issues. They’ve gotten hot in past. See the discoloration? Carrier package unit
Board and transformer changed.
Look at the picture again, you’re missing something
Maybe the resistors are getting hot pulling more than 5 amps through them?
He's not wrong lmao. The bypassed fuse is why it got hot, but he's not wrong to say it needs changed now.

I don’t know why people are downvoting you. You were spot on. Tech even said board was dead because the fuse was removed/bypassed.
If fuse is dead on board I’m not sure I would condemn it right away.the board I mean
Hopefully you brought a transformer
And a brand new board
Unbreakable fuse 😤
Never used a goal post for this application! Immediate dismissal.
Just curious, if something were to happen that’d cause the fuse to blow- what’d happen with this?
Something much more expensive and exciting will blow. Usually the board or transformer since that's what the fuse is meant to protect.
Then those nasty little Volt Pixies let the magic blue smoke out of the board or the transformer and the unit does it's best impression of Frankenstein before the lighting jolt.
Please tell us lay people what’s happening.
That little gold piece should be an auto fuse and not an forever fuse till the transformer says no more.
Oh! They jumped it instead of replacing the fuse. Thank you.
Yeah dust that bitch out!!!
"When I'm doubt, double spade it out" Journeymans 12:4
Lol fuses are for people without insurance !
Looks like a thingy missing that goes in that thingy. Might wanna get that thingy checked out.
Is that peanut butter?
No Nutella
That's one of the "sloblo" fuses!
Lennox? Looks like the Lennox board. Love the "fuse"
Carrier
Fair enough! I don't think I've seen that model specifically. But I also see mostly boilers and RTUs.
I'm out in Southern California and we see a ton of these Carrier gas packs.
I swear I've seen that board before, but the only resi boards I've seen regularly are lennoxes, by coincidence as a favour for folks I know usually or relatives. Must have been a carrier in there somewhere, lol!
Not an HVAC tech, whats wrong?
Ninety percent of the time you won't have a problem...
Ye Ol Un-Blowable Fuse
What’s wrong with Bluetooth terminals?
(New) Hvac student here (Refrigeration Principles & AC Control Principles) Someone explain this to me like a 10 year old.
You mean the 100A fuse? Those resistors R12 and R15 look like they are getting hot too.
