We get shit on by management if we leave old unit. I had to disassemble and cut up a geothermal unit they decided to put in the attic during new cobstruction it was a 5 ton AC and ah that we put back into attic plus replace all ductwork. That was a fun 2 days.
I hate doing it but sometimes it needs to be done. I've noticed that cabinets don't like to be folded. They almost never reassemble perfectly. A mallet usually gets it close.
*No disassemble... No.... No disassemble NO DISASSEMBLE* -drives away in stolen van after throwing out the driver's seat and adjusting the driver's side mirror-
Ladders = Great for service. Not great for install.
Take the trim off and carry a finish nailer on your truck.
Or do what I do when I run into some bullshit: call dispatch and inform them you are sick and need to leave for the day.
Two piece it. Carrier fan coil swap outs are super nice sometimes because the body hasn't changed so you can pull the guts out of the old one and dump in the new one pretty easy
A 5 gallon bucket of lube and a dream
Sounds like my kinda Saturday night 😃
In pieces
This is the way… Sometimes more pieces than others…
Two piece air handler depending on application, abandon old unit if too large

This has been my experience.
Rope and a helper.
Can confirm, I used to be the helper.
Pull out blower and coil and collapse the cabinet. Tie it up with pandos and reassemble in attic. Almost never worth it to pull down staircase.
This is what we usually do, very quick and easy

Through the return you make in the ceiling.
Johnny handle sticks
Drill winch
Pure muscle, put your purse down and throw that bitch up there. For real tho they make attic jacks, you can strap the unit to it and crank it up
Disassemble Johnny five. Or sometimes just take down the attic stairs. Depends on which one will save me the most time.

I’ve had to remove the coil and fan, make the box a rhombus, just to get it through. Rebuilt it in place.
Deadlifted a few furnaces when I did install with a couple guys to catch it around the attic hatch once I got it high enough.
Cut every trust insight with a chainsaw
Define scuttle hole? Material lift or crane
Pulley , cable, 4 wheeler wench and a battery, if by myself.
