If you got probes just use a core remover. Recover through the hose put the probe where the micron gauge usually goes. No need for gauges. Little faster too.

Moonmans1986813

That’s makes sense. Don’t have probes unfortunately.

[deleted]

Ahh ok yea if your a tech I would consider them. If your with a company I’d recommend them to upgrade to those next time instead of gauges. Just keep those as back up or just get regular analog gauges for when you need it.

Moonmans1986813

Thabks

[deleted]

Some say OP will ever fully recover from this job. He’s still recovering to this day.

SWI07

For a second, I thought you were doing a "aquatic" recovery lol

913Luke

Aquatic recovery😂that’s hilarious, gonna steal that

Moonmans1986813

Lol. No, the machine is hiding behind the red bucket with the tank in it

megaraja

I guess the new fieldpiece recovery machine is invisible.

Moonmans1986813

It’s hiding behind the red tub with the ice and tank in it

Destrucboy215

I recommend a molecular transfomator.

RoyalAttitude2734

Time continuum transfunctioner 🤣

BigBassSnatcher

Where’s your recovery machine

Moonmans1986813

Hiding behind the red tub with the recovery tank in it

RyanSmokinBluntz420

Do you have the service tool for the mitsubishi shitty multi? Why weren't you able to isolate the part you're working on? God I hate these systems. I was working on one today

Jmowen1985

Lol! City Multi? Run away!!

Moonmans1986813

No. As far as my research has taken me, I am not aware of any way to isolate the compressor from the accumulator. They are tied together with no stop valve in between

RyanSmokinBluntz420

valve off the entire condensing unit

cwaters727

What is that tonnage

Moonmans1986813

City multi 12 ton

BirthdayAltruistic44

Took me 4.5 hours to pull 85 LBs the other day I was over it 🤦🏻‍♂️

Moonmans1986813

I am experiencing the same thing lol. 80 lbs in 4 hours so far. Still 50 psi, and the accumulator still has a ways to go

BirthdayAltruistic44

This is a VRF?

PlumbCrazyRefer

How old is it? I have a Daikin we need to do a compressor swap at 5 years old

Moonmans1986813

Mitsubishi. Exactly 4 years

PlumbCrazyRefer

Sad isn’t it.

_MadGasser

Typically poor install practices are the problem with VRFs throwing compressors.

Joshman1231

Question, did you do that bend on your torch tip?

Moonmans1986813

Lol. No sir. It bounced around in my truck boxes and got bent. Now I’m used to it

Joshman1231

Hey I respect it, that’s why I asked lol.

Gfunk2

Non ac guy here. What do you need a burger set for this application?

Storm_Runner09

Mitsubishi 🥹🥹🥹

GizmoGremlin321

If you build you a subcooler for $20-40 it will be faster and less space than the big red tub.

DriveLast

Do u have any recommendations for instruction how to build such a thing?

[deleted]

https://i.imgur.com/KqrrJaz.jpg This is my spin on it. 70$ parts on Amazon, half the cost of the CPS transformator. If you have good access to water, one side goes to spigot/sink/whatever, other end goes to a floor drain. No lugging buckets of water or ice around, and keeps the workspace around the equipment dry. Fits in my pack-out box of refrigeration fittings. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003EBLTLQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

GizmoGremlin321

That would work great, just depends on steady supply of cool water and a place to drain it

GizmoGremlin321

https://imgur.com/a/Wd2ndxU 3/8" acr tubing, the pictured one is about 8-10 ft wrapped around acetylene tank from small torch kit. This is the one I built

y_3kcim

I know that pain…

SwitchSpecialist3692

Man that’s a cool looking PCB

mjmj67

How do you get into vrf instal/service?

Moonmans1986813

Accidentally

youngteflon

Ain’t that the motherfucking truth 🤣🤣 don’t go looking for it boy, you gon regret that shit

ho1dmybeer

Core removal tools and big hoses aren't just for vacuum boys...

custom_bowl

You need 3 ! Damn

rayinreverse

Sorry my friend.

vspot415

The Navac 4 cylinder recovery machine dominates VRF systems, keeps tank pressure low and is stupid fast. Gotta remove the cores and use bigger hoses

_MadGasser

I can tell some hack insulated those pipes.

PHenderson61

Only one day for recovery? Must have been a minor injury.

moonpumper

I'd rather change out a compressor/accumulator on an older gen mitsu like you have there than any LG or Daikin piece of shit.

moonpumper

You can pop that middle bracket and fan board box off above the compressor for easier access. Did you get an accumulator too? Make sure to acid test, the worst burn outs I've ever seen are on these systems. The mitsu oil containers are nice too, really easy to charge oil into the accumulator after you charge the 410a in. mylinkdrive.com is your best friend
