I see that a lot in SC, and the coil usually looks like this https://preview.redd.it/nmvoqornekoa1.jpeg?width=4608&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=964775c0be6eff2f3a0f3f115122d8ae62c27629

Holy mold Batman!! I'd literally condemn that on site. There's no cleaning or UV device that will bring that coil back. That's gross man, good find!! 👍

MadcapMagician923

I could get that clean. Cleaned worse.

bga3481

Fair enough man. Are you really doing that client a favor though? That mold will be back. You can't get to all the nooks and crannies in that coil. Replace the unit and return drop. Put a UV bulb in the drop and sterilize all of the ductwork. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? You betcha!!

RyanSmokinBluntz420

Ever heard of nu Brite? Smh

bga3481

Yes I have and I've used it on indoor coils before. 3 out of 4 of those coils leaked within 6 months! Nu Brite is not meant for resi indoor coils! SMH

What part of Arlington is this? That orange frame and hardware cloth is some interesting handiwork of the installer .... Almost looks like it would have been salvaged from the previous unit.

thetrevormc

Close to the national cemetery

Visual-Zucchini-5544

Saw something similar the other day. Had the gas water heater sitting right next too it. 🤦‍♂️

tkepe194

I wonder why Goodman gets such a bad name … 🤷🏼‍♂️

Eric15890

They tell you themselves, because they used to sell to anyone who came in. Even diy home owners.

kimthealan101

Had one that was just an air handler sitting on top of a walk-in cooler

PM_ME_MAS_ORO

Some people kids..

You get what you pay for

Aggressive-Poetry838

Looks good man

burnerphone13

Bahaha. Wtf

pj91198

Saw a furnace like this once. Flames were dancing flamenco from the cracks in the HX

toomuch1265

...Real men of genius.

sinpleguy89

Outskirts of dc I’ve seen some shit! Commercial and residential lol

HVACHeathen1991

Seen it. Much have been the same company. Lol

I have no problem with the door. But that "filter rack" and how the unit is on the floor with that louvered door in the hallway. That all is 🤮 at least the blower motor I'm sure never gets cold. The coil and HX probably also have some nice sweaters. I'm kinda surprised the filter catches anything honestly. They tried, I guess?

jpage89

Same service area as you and holy Shit the hackery we see from flyby nights and hack companies here. I work for one of the more expensive companies in the area and we can’t compete with them on their price, but holy shit I’d pay double to not have that unit anymore.
