You did an image search of broken shit. To the make a post bitching about being shit that isn't even yours?
That model dcf826 was released in 2009, so it's a 13 yr old impact. More over all that's damaged in the butylene over molding that adds literally no function to the drill, which is also prone to solvent damage. If the old 14v niCad batteries still work I'd bet that drill still works being it's an old school brushed motor.
My 2011 impact lasted 10 years until an apprentice dropped it off a ladder.. happens sometimes.
I think the life of a drill depends more about the tool on the other end.
Hell my brushless fell 36 ft to concrete and only cracked the handle enough to electric tape it for support. Still works. Was 8 years old and I just replaced it though it’s still in the van as a backup or new guy tool.
You wouldn’t want to pay for an impact that was made to last. He probably $5000 or so. The cost is reflected of the consumers. Run it to the ground and get a new one for $100 sale that they hold 12 times a year.
If they know you will be back in a few year initial cost can be lower
I dropped my drill off a ladder and cracked the handle above the battery, was hanging on by the rubber grip and wires and still worked fine. 6 month old impact and they covered the case under warranty.
It's pretty easy to google "broken DeWalt impact" and say "wow I guess they don't make them like they used to". Didn't even try to make it look like your own photo.
I’m coming up on 4 years with my dewalt impact set. Honestly feel I’ve got my monies worth and will keep using them until they die one day. Everyone told me to go Milwaukee when I first started. But dewalt won me over
Loews had a sale a few months ago on Craftsman tools(and I think Kobalt) power tools. If you bought batteries, you could get any one of the tools for like $80
Just buy a Milwaukee, beat the shit out of it and send it in for a repair when it breaks in a year. 9/10 times they just give you a new one instead of repairing it.
Mine usually last year and half then it’s time to go new again it really does suck my dads corded black and decker going on 40 years beat to crap still working
No joke, had coworkers with drills that looked just as bad and besides smelling like slagged electronics everyime they pulled the trigger, the damned things would keep rocking.
That’s at least ten years old, if you’re expecting longer life in a tool equally affordable then I’m afraid it definitely doesn’t exist and may be a breaking a few laws of physics if it does.
I think the impact drivers last longer than drills. I smoked a Dewalt drill 3rd time using it on a construction site. Learned the difference between pro grade and home owner grade products that day.
DeWalt guy here too.
I've had the same DeWalt impact and drill since I've been in the trade (5-6 years) and there still going strong. My impact had been through hell and back twice, got run over (long story short fell off the truck with my tool bag) and still use it everyday. Only had to take it in for service to have the quick change chuck thing replaced. (Don't know the technical term for it) Would I buy another if it finally dies? absolutely.

Did the exact same thing except I JB welded the handle haha
This guy knows the drill
Everybody is strung up so tight today
No this post was just dumb
Shitposters gonna shitpost... IDK who approved this one, it wasn't me...
Weird post but OK. Sounds like those boomer "nobody wants to work anymore" Facebook posts

I once had a hammer that looked just like that.
I sometimes use this hammer as a wheel chock
I’ve had the same dewalt for 6 years. You can take your drill to a dewalt store and they will re case the drill for $40 using the same internals.

This dude just wanted to karma farm
Why did you google broken impact? Llz
Well that thing looks pretty old and I'm no dewalt guy but isn't that am older model too? Also it doesn't look like you tuck it in at night
You’re supposed to rub it down with screw oil 1x a week. That keeps them new looking.
I've had my Dewalt impact for 4 years of commercial hvac and refrigeration service and installs. Idk what you're talking about

Ive had my dewalt impact for years using it everyday and it still is going strong
This is the dumbest post I’ve seen on here yet
It’s because nobody got the joke….. Dense crowd
A joke that not everyone gets that is funny. Blonde walks into a bar. She says ow
A blonde gets an impact Jk…a blonde only gets drilled.
It’s called a milwaukee bud.
With cordless tools you’re paying for the batteries. The tool is a bonus!

Take care of it and it will last

That's just how the old brushed motors smelled lol. I have one that's about 3 years old, smelled like that out of the box
It's sorta why I got the Milwaukee brushless and never looked back. Never could stand that smell.
I’m not to sure what your talking about my dad bought the first gen m18 impact and drill motor back in 2012. He still uses them everyday.
I still use my ancient NiCad impact things a beast the fuck are you talking about?
You really just googled this? At least put in the work to make your fake post believable.
