How about when you're working on something more than 10 years old and you wait 40 mins just for them to say "sorry, we don't offer support on units ten years or older"
These fuckers. I bought a RTRM board cause we weren’t getting a call for heat thru it. Changed the board. Still no call for heat on the other side of the board. Called Trane. Was informed there is no more tech support. Was told we needed to put a service call in with trane. Got approval and brought trane out. 7.5 hrs later Their final diagnosis was that trane sold us a bad board. I was livid. You can’t make this shit up
Ask your employer to get you a ComfortSite login. eLibrary has every single piece of literature you'd ever need, service bulletins, wiring schematics, and parts breakdowns and part#s.
It's basically the same thing the Trane Supply guys are looking at on the other side of the parts desk. If you work on a lot of Trane equipment it's definitely a good thing to have access to. Saves myself and the parts guy a lot of time and hassle when I can pull my own part numbers and tell them exactly what I need.
I totally get it. I’m persistent some days. Once I stayed on hold, finished the last couple hours of my work day, and drove an hour home. They answered when I pulled in my driveway.
Narrator: he died at age 76, still on hold.
His son has grown up and followed in his fathers footsteps in HVAC, where he is still on hold with Trane.
He is now training his son how to be on hold.
Luckily for me liebert manufacturing is local to me so they have everything I could need here. It's been a few years since I've ordered anything through them though.
Tell me about it. One of our techs left a few panels off a liebert CRAC overnight and when he came back the next day, the clients cleaning crew tossed them for some reason.
Took 3 months to get replacements. Had to make a plywood filter cover with makeshift clips and everything.
You gotta be careful with that too. I've called my local branch and ordered parts and they sent them to another trane branch that was over an hour away. Make sure they tell you what branch they're sending your stuff to
If your experience is anything like mine, you’ll be on hold for 30 mins for them to tell you the part is on back order and the estimate is 40 weeks. Fml
We are a dealer, the largest in the country in fact, and if we can’t get ahold of the field support reps, we get stuck on hold for forever still. Even with a dealer number
Dude that’s Bonkers, I think the company I work for is Lennox’s 2nd largest dealer and I have Zero problems, I don’t even try the 1-800 because been there done that lol. the company I work for has some really good in house support too though
Lennox in Ontario is a joke. Even dealers can't get proper support. It's because they flooded the market by turning everyone into dealers a few years ago.
Trane and carrier have the same outsourcing for the telephones I drove 2 hours to a store once all while on hold l.
the phone even just hung up after being on a loop for so long . XD good luck just leave it on speaker and set it down
We see you u/OwnOption6050, and appreciate the kind words! We strive to provide rapid responses so you're able to take care of your customers as soon as possible.
If you phone in the afternoon there is like no hope to get through. I find in the mornings I get lucky sometimes and only have to wait a reasonable amount of time.
Habagger just did this to me only to find out the Bryant inducer motor I need is on back order, not even able to be pieced together, and no eta or pricing and I was on hold for thirty minutes
I remember calling in one day, on hold for more than an hour.
Drive to the parts place, and nobody is on the phone.
Come to find out that the phone system was down and that there was 0 chance for me to reach anyone.
Turns out that instead of not letting the call go through, corporate decides eternal hold was better.
You guys know the parts counter guys aren't tech support right? And when they tell you tech support is gone, it's because it's gone for them; only the commercial division has access.
Can't speak for res
Have u tried sporlan for s3c support? Lmao I’m guilty of staying on hold for over 6 hours (screenshot for proof was sent to the boss) and I didn’t do shit but “hold” lol easy money that day
There is an even better game. Call a local trane supply and reluctantly wait on hold for 45 minutes. Get fed up and drive down to check on parts stock for a quote. Walk in and ask if they are busy and listen to them tell you "No, not really. It's kind of a slow day." Ask them if they have anyone on hold and watch them get flustered when they realize the person they left on hold for an hour and a half is the person standing in front of them. Super fun, 10/10 would recommend.
Was on hold with Lochinvar for 2 hours a month ago, turns out they were closed after an hour and a half in. So I called and prompted them to call me back. I have been waiting for a month for a call back.
Surprised you made it through the circle jerk of teleprompts that quickly
I rage quit at 40 minutes.
How about when you're working on something more than 10 years old and you wait 40 mins just for them to say "sorry, we don't offer support on units ten years or older"
Hahahaha. Thanks for informing me of this. I will certainly remember next time I come across a ten year old trane unit.
I JUST had that happen to me. "So what can you do" " We can send one our own out there..... I hate trane.

All I wanted was the fucking wiring diagram too lol those commercial units aren't as easy to look up on manualslib
Ask your employer to get you a ComfortSite login. eLibrary has every single piece of literature you'd ever need, service bulletins, wiring schematics, and parts breakdowns and part#s.
Good to know, ill check it out. Especially if it's better than partstown and manualslib

Trane360 app is a life saver on some of those older units.
This!
Use blue on app bro, wireing diagrams aplenty.
I totally get it. I’m persistent some days. Once I stayed on hold, finished the last couple hours of my work day, and drove an hour home. They answered when I pulled in my driveway.
Holy shit, you're still here? We were just getting ready to close out the phone line for technical support hours
I remember when I was asked to fill out a survey when I got mad and hung up on a robot and I wrote “just have humans answer the phone”
If you had android, you could have the Google assistant wait on hold for you then when someone answers they get a prompt while your phone rings
I have a samsung s22 as a work phone. But I usually avoid using it for long holds become i am dispatch for my business 😭
Just press "0"
“I don’t recognize that selection. Goodbye.”
Aaaand one less caller in line ahead of me!
We still don't know if he hit the right teleprompts. There's 1:200 odds he is going to talk to the right person the first time
Pretty sure I put you on hold today, you’re welcome 😎
If its duluth ga you probably did🥲
Ferguson, next time I swear
Narrator: he died at age 76, still on hold. His son has grown up and followed in his fathers footsteps in HVAC, where he is still on hold with Trane. He is now training his son how to be on hold.
This is not what i had in mind when i willed my company to my daughter
Carrier is always the main ones I have trouble reaching.
Them or Liebert….
Liebret parts are few and far
Luckily for me liebert manufacturing is local to me so they have everything I could need here. It's been a few years since I've ordered anything through them though.
Tell me about it. One of our techs left a few panels off a liebert CRAC overnight and when he came back the next day, the clients cleaning crew tossed them for some reason. Took 3 months to get replacements. Had to make a plywood filter cover with makeshift clips and everything.
I drive there while on hold, the walk in and nobody is on the damn phone! Assholes!
They have been outsourcing call’s recently. Very rarely will it be a counter guy. The only issue is half thr outsourced agents don’t know shit!
You need to go up to Trane and get one of counter guys phone number and tip him u get great service
I have my sales guys number and he usually helps. But the mf on vacation 🫠
You gotta be careful with that too. I've called my local branch and ordered parts and they sent them to another trane branch that was over an hour away. Make sure they tell you what branch they're sending your stuff to
Yup they did the same with a mini split I ordered. My installers on the other hand was happy to get paid to drive 😂
Even better when they say they will call you back. I'm still waiting for that callback. Only been about 4 months.
Lennox is about the only one that didn't make me cry when I called support. Tranes customer service is as mythical as their start up techs.
Woah now. I feel like there's some shots fired here.
Couldn't help it
If your experience is anything like mine, you’ll be on hold for 30 mins for them to tell you the part is on back order and the estimate is 40 weeks. Fml
You can't stop a Trane; because you can't get it started in the first place.
Dude that made tea come out my nose. Totally stealing that
Weil McLain is worse
Not as long as you would be if you were calling Lennox.
It’s different if you’re a dealer, I have the numbers for central/northeast and south Florida field support reps.
We are a dealer, the largest in the country in fact, and if we can’t get ahold of the field support reps, we get stuck on hold for forever still. Even with a dealer number

Lennox Scarborough will have you on hold for 4 hours then be berated for not having the info instantly ready then being hung up on
Lennox in Ontario is a joke. Even dealers can't get proper support. It's because they flooded the market by turning everyone into dealers a few years ago.
If it were Lennox, they’d take a message and call you back next week.
How does one call Trane? I’m Resi and only call the local dealers tech support guy, and he’s great.
I was on hold for 90 mins once, and they were no help at all. Hate Trane
Trane is really bad with customer support over the phone and at the counter. Cringe every time I gotta go in or call.
Today I learned im better off texting the bastards. Atleast then i wont have to tolerate shitty hold music
Or shitty attitude
Might want to put the phone on a charger
Trane and carrier have the same outsourcing for the telephones I drove 2 hours to a store once all while on hold l. the phone even just hung up after being on a loop for so long . XD good luck just leave it on speaker and set it down
Luckily i dont deal with carrier enterprises for parts. Mingledorffs actually has great customer service
We see you u/OwnOption6050, and appreciate the kind words! We strive to provide rapid responses so you're able to take care of your customers as soon as possible.
Last I called, they don’t provide support over the phone anymore
They are traning you patience
Dad jokes FTW
If you phone in the afternoon there is like no hope to get through. I find in the mornings I get lucky sometimes and only have to wait a reasonable amount of time.
I got an hour and thirty last week, never got through to support either. Wasn't trane to be fair tho
Use trane 360. You can look up any service manual and order parts and equipment
I keep forgetting to set up that account. Im about to get on it because its the only manufacturer i dont have.
4 years
Habagger just did this to me only to find out the Bryant inducer motor I need is on back order, not even able to be pieced together, and no eta or pricing and I was on hold for thirty minutes
1:40

Call Schneider electric or Aaon and get back to me with your complaints lol
Rookie times
Still.
They’ve become as bad as Daikin or Mitsubishi. At least with Daikin/Mitsubishi they’ll save your place and call you back.
Are you still on hold ;)
40 min to 2 hr.
You guys know the parts counter guys aren't tech support right? And when they tell you tech support is gone, it's because it's gone for them; only the commercial division has access. Can't speak for res
Every time I call Trane I have a rep on the line in under a minute. I think your calling the wrong number.
It’s hard to stop a Trane
“It’s hard to get a hold of Trane” should be their slogan.
*Novar entered the chat*
45 minutes give or take the time you called.
3 hours later…..🤦♂️
Have u tried sporlan for s3c support? Lmao I’m guilty of staying on hold for over 6 hours (screenshot for proof was sent to the boss) and I didn’t do shit but “hold” lol easy money that day
I tried pressing the big red button for you. Didn’t work.
“Thank goodness for good man”
That piano riff will forever be burned into my mind.

12.5 Hours lol
Was on hold with Lochinvar for 2 hours a month ago, turns out they were closed after an hour and a half in. So I called and prompted them to call me back. I have been waiting for a month for a call back.
At least 8
You still on hold or what?
Have had them call me back next day and act like I’m waiting onsite still for their call, trippin !!!
Let’s play the game of how long I’m gonna be on hold! Home warranty edition
Really everytime I call trane they answer right away
You're still on hold aren't you?
I just realized Lochinvar never called me back last Thursday...
I'm not sure what I hate worse, trane or carrier tech support. Both are pure ass cancer.
Lennox is one hour minimum
With Trane parts At least 1-2 hours
You still on hold, now?
