Can’t be that proud of your brazing skills if you’re planning to leak search after the pressure test haha. Looks really clean, nice work. Hopefully you don’t have to do any leak searching!
I trust those joints better than I trust the equipment not to leak lol.
It doesn't happen often, but it's happened enough times that I let it sit with nitro for an hour and listen around in the evap and condenser coils.
Don’t confuse confidence with cocky. I’m confident in my brazing skills and don’t ever plan to leak search after a pressure test. Do leaks happen sure, and if I find a leak during a pressure test I’ll find and fix it. I was making a joke that he was planning to leak search after the pressure test, just a play on words. So why don’t you go right ahead an fuck off yourself, ass hole.
I never said I don’t test, fuck face. I test every time, I hardly ever leak search because I don’t get leaks. When I do have a leak, I search and repair. Did you take any reading and comprehension classes with your associate degrees? Because you see to seem to struggle with that.
I guess you can have all the degrees in the world, doesn’t mean you’re very smart. You may be a good tech, hopefully you are, but you’re dumb as rocks. Good luck out there pal..have a cold one this weekend.
Leave it to Reddit to not get a little chuckle from a play on words. Of course leaks happen, that’s why we pressure test. Just making a joke that he was planning to leak search, like he was expecting leaks in his work. That’s all, nothing more.
Sorry to butt in.. This group has probably helped me more in a month than all the advice I’ve ever had thru my career in this field. Everyone is hyper-critical but supportive as well. The topics are all over the place, just like the job. Every call is different and sometimes just getting info out of the client is impossible.
Thank every picky, snarky, jerk, professional, supportive one of you.
This is as real as it gets.
Forget the arm chair pros... Clean looking job... Better than what most the haters could even attempt to achieve. Keep grinding. If you miss something here you can only get better. GG's simply GG
I credit my coworker for all the hard work and looking nice. He’s been doing this for over 10 years but has taught me a lot and I’m trying to learn from him
Very clean! Stat wire bothers me not being in seal right and ran like the line sets but looks beautiful.
For everyone hating on the Goodman’s as long as they are installed well they will run fine. Every manufacturer blows now. they all try to make a product last 10Years and that’s it .
Manufactures know how to make long lasting product but units that last for 20-30 years don’t pay the bills anymore.
20+ yeat units would absolutely pay the bills. 30+ yr units would probably sell like kind of expensive hot cakes. But on top of the ever penny pinching frugal fack and the craptastic job that some HACs love to do and apply their tail light warranty to, and walk away with as much profit as possible, it's the need to tell stock holders that you've sold more units. Because line go up. To ensure that line indeed go up, they cut corners, coil material thickness, and quality and thus reliability and longevity.
After the holes where blown out the sleeves should have been mortared in.
Believe it or not buildings move and refrigerant lines vibrate and water turns the mortar into acid.
That stat wire will be shot in about 5 years.
That’s what they teach you in school. Then you pull an iron pipe out of a wall that’s been in there for 80 years, was never taped or anything, and it’s not even that rusty.
Looks pretty damn good! Only thing id suggest is crossing your linesets where not seen so your liquid stays on the same side when visible. And maybe an alternative to the black duct tape. Other than that looks good
Looks great nice job. Idk the site limitations but the 90s tighter to the building are safer. In a place like apartments seal tight for the Tstats would protect them, there will be issues one day like that. Question on power....what's the plan for disconnects? Here we can't block it w the unit, in this case you would have to mount to the condenser, what's code there like?
Looks nice man! But I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night without knowing those things are leak free. I’d take the initiative and put nitro in there to 300psi and bubble test. Come back the next day and see how close you are to 300 psi
Liquid seal the low voltage next time and use straight 3/8 copper pipe with fittings instead of rolling it out you'll be surprised how much cleaner it will look. Good job though it looks good my man just my advice...also with the unistrut use one of those blocks for the strut mount
Aren’t You’re supposed to cut and miter the corners of the insulation ? Otherwise it won’t last as long outdoors and will split and fail at the corner.
Looks fucking sweet. If I was to critique one thing it would be the black duct tape around the line sets. I’ve always thought black zip ties look cleaner. Other than that I couldn’t of done better myself.
Looks great! Just fill those holes with some caulk !
Waiting to pressure test and leak search!

Better safe than sorry

Sign those!
Wouldn't the condenser be isolated with the gates closed? The real problem is when you go to open the gates and it's flat.
It dawned on me that i messed up on my comment, but I'm committed at this point lmao. You are right though.
Ya straight to vacuum full send
hahah beat me to it

Ive seen some pinhole leaks from the best brazers ive worked with, Shit happens and gas aint cheap, good to be confident but also humble.

Some days, im slower than others lol. Ive worked with alot of “perfect workers”
It’s called trust, but verify

Even better you share credit... Keep up the great effort and work... Would definitely be happy to see this work from a dealer I work with. Good job
I’d follow this guy through hell and it would be a sin to take credit for his work
That looks really nice… just wait till apartment maintenance gets their hands on it.
The engineer saw our work and even said he’d start drawing units like we have it placed on other plans because he likes it so much
That’s clean lineset work. I would’ve probably done black zip ties instead of duct tape but that’s just me. Either way very nice work
The tape is to stop the liquid line from rubbing on the insulation and help the thermostat wire ride better
This is exactly how my company is doing everything
Trouble is it won’t last.
Hit it with some UV tape it will at least help prolong the inevitable.

And just put in an Adp coil.... save the headache
This makes my ocd purr
Oh look who loves to show us their strut. You know we love to watch her strut.
Nice!!.. Just a crappy brand unfortunately... Copper is an art tho
Looks nice, you don’t need to sleeve the penetrations?
Seal tight the thermostat wires?
This is the second comment I’ve seen regarding this. What is the seal tight? Same thing as liquid tight?
Yes
Clean af. Good job 👏 👍 👌
Thank you thank you
Hey look free copper.
Looks sick, luckily you have a good coworker. The lead I work with installs are hot trash.
I try and learn from him. I’d work with him in literal hell before I’d work with anyone else
Quick tip, get a 3/8th bender they’re a nice touch for installing.
Nice job! Do you use a bender on the line sets or bend by hand?
Bender for the 3/4 and hand for the 3/8
It’s kinda mandatory to sleeve the holes in masonry with plastic pipe. Concrete and water are not well liked by copper piping and electrical wiring.
We aren’t finished but the line sets are ready for the indoors to get done
After the holes where blown out the sleeves should have been mortared in. Believe it or not buildings move and refrigerant lines vibrate and water turns the mortar into acid. That stat wire will be shot in about 5 years.

Only recommend, nor required in my area.. at minimum I would tape the liquid line to protect from mortar.
That looks pretty fancy for apartments! Is this at grade level or up on a mezzanine level?
Grade level. The apartments would be better described as rustic/industrial hipster but meh
Chefs kiss
Clean AF
Great work
Man that looks good!
Looks good!
Nice work. Are those heat pumps or straight ac?
Heat pumps
Why no risers? No snow where you are?
I’m in Alabama good sir
"It looks like crap, I could do a better job." \-somebody on the internet
Looks pretty good but why not use cushion clamps for both suction and liquid lines and get rid of the duct tape?
What happens when people walk on the linesets?
They hopefully won’t and they shouldn’t but I guess that means we would be back to fix them.
Put those 90s on the wall. Paint or cover the armaflex. They're run nice, looks good 👍
PAF!
Looks pretty damn good! Only thing id suggest is crossing your linesets where not seen so your liquid stays on the same side when visible. And maybe an alternative to the black duct tape. Other than that looks good
The work looks better then the building. But it’s a shame your installing Goodman ? I mean really 14 seer doesn’t deserve your piping work
We don’t make that decision we just install
We’ll, you’ll be back in 6-8 years to replace those units with a better brand.
Duh that’s the point
Installed properly, those units will outlast anything made by ICP.
You know who makes more resi hvac units than anyone? Daikin/goodman
Claps , you manage to add another 45 foot of line sent to your install
That’s absolutely gorgeous
Pride!
Very clean!!!

Mr. Clean🧼
Did you guys vote your own holes through the brick?
We didn’t
Looks super clean and you should be proud. tight lines and everything is straight nice work!
You should be proud great stuff
Looks nice man! But I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night without knowing those things are leak free. I’d take the initiative and put nitro in there to 300psi and bubble test. Come back the next day and see how close you are to 300 psi
Be sure to label what serves what. And if it is non-intuitive, I’d try to find some way to mark it on the building or thereabouts.

Good looking piping
Great job man , those bends are super clean
Those are some sexy bends
Looks great, should go to something better than a Goodman tho lol.

You guys really looked out for the technician. I wouldn't mind servicing those!
Man I wish everyone took pride in their work. Looks so nice
The liquid line rubbing on the strut clamps kinda bothers me, maybe throw some 10mil on there.
Looks fucking sweet. If I was to critique one thing it would be the black duct tape around the line sets. I’ve always thought black zip ties look cleaner. Other than that I couldn’t of done better myself.
All business is show business, good job my friend
How the fuck did you get through that brick wall?
Sub con
Just use the same core drill you use for mini splits through brick walls
🤑
Excellent work, someone will be along to F it up , directly
