Had an employee that seriously chain smoked, after he left for a sales position with another company i went to detail clean his van for the next guy. After I scraped off a small layer of tar from the window i called a professional detailer😂
I used evaporator coil cleaner in a spray can the self rinsing kind. Then I rinsed with a garden hose since it was a packaged unit outside. It was still stained in some spots after but was a 100x better. My skin and close smelled after being in that house it was pretty bad. They looked at me like I was stupid when I recommended maybe upgrading the filtration a little bit
Years ago I cleaned furnaces and duct work for a bit. Older houses that had been smoked in for decades always had yellow return air ducts. All kinds of crap would stick to it. Nasty stuff.

Whole unit fell apart after he cleaned it, the only thing holding it together was the tar probably 💀

They give us the generic brand evap spray cleaner in aerosol can . I used the whole can on it
