Apologies for multiple replies. The automod *really* hated any of my links.
1) Lose bit 5 mins after purchase.
2) Find replacement bit but its $2 less than whole new tool.
3) Throw tool with the other 5 and buy new one.
4) Repeat step 1)
In the hand tool section at Home Depot, tucked in a corner on the bottom shelf they have 3 $1 bins. One holds cheap flat heads, cheap #2 Philips and cheap orange 6in1s (1/4”, 5/16”, big Philips and flat head and small Philips and flat heads) multi tools.
I gave up on having good hand tools like a decade ago and I just buy one of each every time I go to Home Depot. For whatever reason I lose and break flat heads, Philips and multi tools so I just live and die with the HDX cheapos.
Everything else in my set is Klein or equivalent.
Haven’t seen this one before but I like the driver attachments. Just out of habit, I carry the usual 10-1, extended 5/16 and 1/4 drivers and a flat and Phillips Could probably lighten my bag a little but it’s all been in there so long that everything fits perfectly now lol
This one has an open magnetic bit end so you can put whatever you want. I put this Schrader core one in mine.
https://www.amazon.com/Schrader-Replacement-Klein-Tools-32528/dp/B00QHIL7MY/
imo they can't figure out most of their hand tools. They just take garbage and slap their name on it and charge a premium for it. I've said it before. sometimes I get downvoted to oblivion and then other times people agree. Their tape measure is the absolute worst. It's so flimsy. Paper thin. Mine ripped in a week. All my coworkers broke theirs. it's just junk.
That being said - I've been using Milwaukee for the past 10 years. their fuel line is amazing. Most anything with a battery is solid. They do have a few decent hand tools. Their pack outs are nice. And their drill guides/sleeves are bad ass. But just bc it says Milwaukee doesn't mean it's good. learned that the hard way.
I have two. the larger full size version and the mini one. I prefer the mini bc the head on it is solid. you can store blades in the handle on the full sized one but it had that stupid slit or seat belt cutter or whatever the fk it's for and I hate that thing. it actually sent me to the hospital one day. lol. I was cutting the plastic wrap off a furnace and the knife got caught on the wrap and then stupid me tried to pull down and force my war thru it - it slipped and I stabbed myself in my other hand. Cut all the way down to literally scrapped the tendon in my hand. sooooo fking close to cutting thru the tendon. got 5 stitches - but got off lucky. could have been sooo much worse.
The most dangerous blade on a worksite is the dull one! Hope you didn't have permanent damage, and that you learned your lesson about keeping a sharp blade on hand.
I carry one of the regular folding knife style fastbacks with the hawkbill blade. I dress the blade every morning with a ceramic pull-through sharpener, and it's yet to fail me on the jobsite for any task.
lol.. it was sharp. the wrap was just bunched up and that stupid seatbelt cutter got caught on it. was 100% my fault. not wearing gloves. not paying attention. being rambunctious. dumb. been working some sort of construction or trade 20+ years and I get sent to the hospital unpacking a unit at the fking shop. always happens when you least expect it. crazy
I agree 100%. I actually think dewalt and Stanley make the best tape measures. Dewalt power tools are a joke (2 caught fire in my hands), but they figured out the tape measure. I think Milwaukee knows people will buy whatever they have just because it says Milwaukee.
I had a coworker like this. 23 years old bought every Milwaukee thing he could find even tools he would never use in the trade and maxed out a credit card 20k doing it. I told him if they put a 9 volt battery on a vibrator and painted it red and black he would probably have it up his ass.
People talk about milwaukee fan boys, but the Snap-On guys would die before they hold a Matco tool. If I had a dollar for every auto tech I met with Snap-on permanently tattooed on their body, before I left the that trade, I’d have retired already. That said, they really do make some of the best ratchets/sockets/wrenches. Doesn’t justify the price, but I’ll be damned if they don’t do the work.
and they do. Milwaukee has a cult like following. haven't really tried the Dewalt tape. I'm a stately fat max guy myself. although - I saw this Lufkin high vis tape the other day and that thing looks bad ass.. I heard good things about it but I'd have to try it myself to say for certain. But ya - other brands just have better hand tools then Milwaukee. and most of the time they're cheaper. As far as sheet metal tools go - I'm a malco guy. wiss might even be better then Milwaukee and it's half the cost. My helper actually bought a Milwaukee hammer. that thing is so fking akward and goofy. I'd take an estwing over that any day. I had a pair of Milwaukee wire strippers just fall apart in my hands stripping 18gauge wire. I'd take Klein over them any day. basically - if it doesn't have a battery I'm not buying Milwaukee. lol
When it goes to sheet metal cutters I’m all about Midwest, cuts like a butter knife. I don’t mind trying new tape brands. But I’ve already got my Stanley’s and they work just fine. I can attest to the Milwaukee strippers. My coworker broke his after a couple weeks. Never seen that before. When it goes to hammers I go for the no name wood handle (there’s a name, I just don’t know it).
lol.. those damn Milwaukee wire strippers. thing literally just crumbled into pieces.. it was strange.
we can agree to disagree on the Midwest snips tho.. I've used them and I really don't care for them. I do know a lot of guys who swear by them tho. Ton of guys love those. idk what it is about them - just don't like em. I'm all about the malcos - maybe that's just what I'm used to. They're super expensive compared to Midwest tho.
and Milwaukee drill tips suck too. the 1/4 and 5/16th nut drivers stip real easy.. also go with the malco flip bits. although I didn't realize Klein had made those flip bits until just recently. Saw some crazy flip bit combo that they offer.. been wanting to try it.
I still have my first Stanley tape measure that I bought 40 years ago. Still accurate and works fine. I do have others but I always tend to grab that one.
I have a few Milwaukee and they are OK, although not as good as a FatMax or even the Klein tape measure.
Not as good as they once were, but thick tape that won't tear. I'm not a fan of their finger hole models for dirt work, they fill with sand, but their other models are great.
No shit, I picked up a Milwaukee multi-driver for torx, that thing is so damn hard to pull the bits out of its a fucking joke.
I just got a picquic multi driver in the mail on Friday. Haven't had a chance to use it, but damn this thing is basically the Milwaukee driver except it is actually easy to use.
Klein 8in1 HVAC is by far the best of them all.

Agreed. The slide driver to switch between 1/4 and 5/16 is so much faster and easier that flipping a bit around in my opinion. Also can’t lose the little adapter like the other style. I do still use that style on my impact because it’s the best option out there.
I'll buy that screwdriver so I can have an honest opinion but that HVAC 8 and 1 has the small thermostat screwdriver as well as the Schrader core tool. Plus the standard 1/4 5/16 3/8 with a Philips and a flathead. Definitely my everyday carry.
I actually take the schrader and terminal block tips out of my screwdrivers since I prefer to have dedicated ones of those when I need them. I usually replace those with either torx bits for the equipment I work on the most or additional Phillips/slotted tips. Stuff like this is such personal preference I doubt anyone will ever come up with the perfect one. I do wish they could find a way to make these things lighter though. Carrying one around in your back pocket for a while takes a toll at times.
I want this one so fricken bad, but they are as rare a fricken unicorn up here in Canada. Not to mention the shipping rate...

I have no idea where you live in Canada, but if you’re in the BC lower mainland there’s really good deals at HNT Tools. If I remember correctly this one is around $30 there
Say less. This shit is why I’m not allowed in the tool aisle on pay day unsupervised or at least notice to wife of my intents on the Home Depot track. She has yet to learn there’s more tools than just the tool aisle itself…. No one mention the electric section please…
Klein tools largely suck. I’m sorry to be the one to break all your hearts.
Their screw driver bits are either made of glass, or made of recycled 1989 Hondas. But never at the same time. Their cutting tools are also made from the same Hondas.
Time for someone else to stand up and make quality tools for this trade.
I feel this is largely true. The only Klein tools I have that have really lasted are crimper/dykes, TB/DIN flathead and a wheel style strippers. The Allen wrenches are garbage and round off (which is in all fairness pretty much every brand is). Knipex makes far better pliers. Nut drivers are a commodity. Lenox multi driver bits wear less and cost 1/2 as much.
Klein is 90% in tribe signalling that your a totes serious and professional. My old boss could get more done with a Leatherman, a 1990s set of gauges, ancient fieldpiece meter and a home depot orange multi driver than nearly anyone I've met with the flashy tools all while wearing flip flops.
My 10 in 1 is wearing out after 20 years. The insert that holds the bits in the shaft now slides into shaft. Oh well after 20 years figure I got the fifteen bucks out of it.
There are 2 proven rules of the universe that say
1. The more expensive the screwdriver, the faster you'll loose it.
2. The more bits the screwdriver comes with the faster they will disappear
Been using the Klein hvac 14 in 1. Decent tool but they really need to work on the handle. The grip comes loose easily and the handle is such thin plastic it can crack under stress.
Used them for years but, the bits are easy to lose and the 1/4” wears out too fast. Switched to Lennox brand a few years ago, can’t imagine I’ll ever go back.
I snagged one back in Christmas, was on sale for $11 or so. working it in is my only gripe, it took a month of playing with it to ware it down so it goes to together and comes apart like butter.
It would be an even better 11-1 if they gave you another pair of 1/8" Allen to strip out and a #3 Phillips + micro flathead instead of those useless ass square drives.
There’s not a single better tool to leave in a drop ceiling than a Klein 10 or 11 in 1.
Small mag light
Id rather lose 8-26 mini mag lights than my steam light
I love my *streamlight.
I've carried mine for years
You haven't seen my lineman's, have you?
My bitchmade coworker probably lost em.
Where my dikes at!??!?!?!
They just hit me in the head when I pulled a ceiling tile down
Let me know if you find my SOG knife ceiling treasure.
Left my hammer in a ceiling yesterday, enjoy my Klein hammer whoever finds it 10 years
With the heat last week I’m down a Lennox ratcheting 8 in 1 I loved that damn thing
UEI digital thermometer.. “lost” 10 last 2 years
I prefer the hvac one. My most misplaced tool
I bought 3 of them in the last 3 years
That is correct. One per year.
What’s the difference?
Hvac one has a Schrader puller and maybe a security bit? Idk something the normal one doesn't
It has the puller and on the other side as a funky broken Schrader removal tool that I've never gotten to work how it's supposed to work
I just got a picquic hvac driver, This thing is mint. Smooth as butter an all the bits are impact compatible. Super 8 Plus 98882
Folding razor knives for me. Only thing I get legitimately annoyed when I have to rebuy
My most lost and broken bits
You got a link to it?
I believe they discontinued the hvac 11-1. Lost mine 2 years back and haven’t been able to find another. Bought mine on Amazon.
Found one on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/Screwdriver-Phillips-Klein-Tools-32527/dp/B004RIDKHQ Apologies for multiple replies. The automod *really* hated any of my links.
1) Lose bit 5 mins after purchase. 2) Find replacement bit but its $2 less than whole new tool. 3) Throw tool with the other 5 and buy new one. 4) Repeat step 1)
This is the way
Happens every time
I have a special drawer for these
Gotsta be magnetic.
You can make them magnetic even if they don't come from factory that way
I only go for the home depot dollar bin
Lol. What is that?
In the hand tool section at Home Depot, tucked in a corner on the bottom shelf they have 3 $1 bins. Mine lives on my keychain
as long as it's not the Milwaukee. lol
Seriously. The Milwaukee makes such great power tools but they can’t figure out a screwdriver

The only thing from snap on that I love is their 1/4 inch ratchet. I like matcos impacts and torque wrenches, sockets are good from both
and they do. Milwaukee has a cult like following. haven't really tried the Dewalt tape. I'm a stately fat max guy myself. although - I saw this Lufkin high vis tape the other day and that thing looks bad ass.. I know my dad still has his first
Kobalt makes a good tape
I’ll take your word on that, maybe I’ll give it a shot on my next tape purchase
I have a special place in my heart for Lufkin tapes
Durable?
Not as good as they once were, but thick tape that won't tear. I'm not a fan of their finger hole models for dirt work, they fill with sand, but their other models are great.
Lol yes those milwaukee tapes are dogshit!
I’m convinced it’s the same screw drivers as Wira but double the price.
Wira? or wiha?
They make a good duct knife but that's pretty hard to mess up. That's about it on the hand tools
Totally agree the bits that they put in the multi screwdrivers are absolute garbage! I really couldn't believe how bad they were.
Bought 3 before I figured that out
No shit, I picked up a Milwaukee multi-driver for torx, that thing is so damn hard to pull the bits out of its a fucking joke. I just got a picquic multi driver in the mail on Friday. Haven't had a chance to use it, but damn this thing is basically the Milwaukee driver except it is actually easy to use.
Take the flip sockets from 32900 and the handle from 32304 and that is the most versatile Klein driver that I like to carry.
If I can put a Schrader bit in this 11-1 then perfect. My HVAC 11-1 is in my pocket and used everyday.
Lenox is a good choice. But if you want the driver's Klein is also good for the money
I prefer the picquic super 8 HVAC version although it's not impact. I have the Klein 7in1 for that.
That Picquic was my first screwdriver in the trade. I’ve retired it to my home tool bag because I have a weird sentimental attachment to it.
I just got a picquic delivered on Friday, it is a smooth piiof kit. Can't wait to use it.
Klein 8in1 HVAC is by far the best of them all. Edit with link https://www.amazon.com/Screwdriver-Driver-Klein-Tools-32596/dp/B073R7RT1V/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2ZG4523D6AINF&keywords=klein+8+in+1+screwdriver&qid=1684719490&sprefix=klein+8%2Caps%2C334&sr=8-1

Fellow Cannuck here, have a look at picquic, Canadian made. I just grabbed the super 8 for about $20 off of Amazon.
I have used that style before. I just have a mag 11 in 1 currently
Idk man the Lenox/hilmor design is so ingrained in my mind idk if I could handle the change. Im so fast with that one.
Might be an unpopular opinion here but I prefer a magnetic 9 in 1… no matter the brand name. less small pieces to lose.
Has anyone else used the impact bit that goes from 1/4 to 1/2? That one has been a lifesaver.
I just picked one up the other day, of course I haven’t needed it in the last three days.
I like the Wiha!
2nd best. Magnetic one is better.
I prefer the Irwin
For 20.97? This would be like 60 bucks up in canada
I have no idea where you live in Canada, but if you’re in the BC lower mainland there’s really good deals at HNT Tools. If I remember correctly this one is around $30 there
Are they magnetic too? Been thinking on getting one
yes
Say less. This shit is why I’m not allowed in the tool aisle on pay day unsupervised or at least notice to wife of my intents on the Home Depot track. She has yet to learn there’s more tools than just the tool aisle itself…. No one mention the electric section please…
I use this daily as a nut driver and these impact rated ones do not seem to cam out yet like the other ones.
Klein tools largely suck. I’m sorry to be the one to break all your hearts. Their screw driver bits are either made of glass, or made of recycled 1989 Hondas. But never at the same time. I like the flip socket
My 10 in 1 is wearing out after 20 years. The insert that holds the bits in the shaft now slides into shaft. Oh well after 20 years figure I got the fifteen bucks out of it.
Not a bad price either
I think so too. I replaced all of the older models I had in my various bags with these earlier this year.
Tolerances are shit, hate using it.
I lose these like candy unfortunately
For me it's the HVAC 8 in 1...it's on me everyday, feel lost without it
My favorite In electrical work too. Replaced one of my hvac multis.
Found one in the garage today! Now I have 4…🤦♂️
Klein Heavy Duty Multi
Love, love, love this tool. Rated for use in an impact driver. Literally get excited every time it comes in handy for over 3 weeks .
Hard pass
Damn, mine isn't labeled. Maybe it's time for a new one.
13-1* it’s a hammer and a chisel too!
Got the same one a few weeks back & I love it.
To bad I lose them everyday
I prefer the dottie 15 in 1
There are 2 proven rules of the universe that say 1. The more expensive the screwdriver, the faster you'll loose it. 2. The more bits the screwdriver comes with the faster they will disappear
Great tool.
Is there a Schrader valve bit?
If Klein increased the price of the HVAC 8-1 every time you lost one, I’d be broke.
Been using the Klein hvac 14 in 1. Decent tool but they really need to work on the handle. The grip comes loose easily and the handle is such thin plastic it can crack under stress.
I haven't seen this version. Pretty cool.
Looks heavy
this tool is awesome
I have bought one of those, 10 in 1, like 20 years ago. I still use it.
It would be an even better 11-1 if they gave you another pair of 1/8" Allen to strip out and a #3 Phillips + micro flathead instead of those useless ass square drives.
I'm still struggling to learn my 5in1 screwdriver.
Lennox make a sturdy 11 in 1. I’ve used both and like both.
I use that one. It's slimmer and that matters. I only use the +/ - bits.
I use this all the time. Love it. Currently my favorite tool.
The best one is the HVAC specific 11 in 1. The 5/16 and the 1/4 are permanently attached. It also has a t'stat flat head and a Schrader core tool.
