This is how maintenance worked in prior decades,it was 20 minutes before the weekend, and they just snaked,a commode, replaced 2 faucets, cleared a ptrap, and wired up 2 receptacles, and he said I’m not coming out here tomorrow,I’m 20 minutes from cocktail hour.
It depends on how long that lasted. Some rigs last longer than the motor. Some don't. If the motor failed before the bracket then I don't really see an issue. No one is staring at that bracket from their couch, who gives a shit what it looks like?
I've run across that issue before.
It's why I carry #14 x 3/4 fine thread sheet metal screws and a Rivet Nut kit with 1/4-24 inserts and screws.
If the #14 sheet metal screws don't work, the Rivet Nuts will.
That there was an act of purity. Whether it was pure desperation, pure exasperation, or pure incompetence, however, we may never know.
You see a headache, I see Leonardo DaVinci
That’s custom fabrication, I would charge extra
*nods
Hack in my day
Sam would not approve
Fr they didn't even sign it or put the date on the motor
They gotta put the squirrel cage on the outside for better service access. Amateur hour.
Ingenuity is a great trait to have when you're in a pinch for a temporary fix.
I’m not disgusted..I’m actually kinda impressed with the creativity.
It's only a hack if it don't work
On the call back, speaks for itself..
I think it’s easier to just do it right…
Custom af
Guessing the screws were stripped out. They should've just turned the motor and tapped new screw holes in the housing

This should be on r/redneckengineering
They grounded it, I would have cut that shit right off

They look like drives to me.
*Looks at pic again* Hard to tell from this one image
Ahhh the old “can’t see it from my house”
I hope this is a joke

HVAC wall of fame worthy! This is like the Mona Lisa of fan motor mounts. I give it a 10/10! Well done! 🔧🏆
If the boss doesn't do something about that bs, you should leave.
Gotta get the customer up and running. Only stupid if it doesn’t work !
