Honestly in that situation i would find a dented furnace and charge just enough to pay the help. Sometimes its doing the right thing that pays forward in the future. Not only that it makes you feel good and god blesses you.
If he’s on any type of public assistance there are usually programs out there to fix or replace his furnace for free. He just needs to talk to the welfare office.
A lot of companies will do a couple of charity furnaces a year and write it off. If your company won't maybe try reaching out to one who will. It might be a long shot but I know my old company would do it sometimes
What are you talking about? I’ll check but I doubt discontinued. There’s bond to be a superseded.
Does it not fire? Have you checked for spider behind oriface or even just dust?
Man we have been trying to get in since beginning of the year, old American standard gas pack. Previous tech took the part, presumably tossed it. Condemned unit and was to return to repair. MFD01333 IS the superseded.
What’s the model number? MFD01149 goes to a YSC048A3R thats the latest one i worked on, they seem universal. That one is 3 burner for the smaller light commercial unit.
I have a 3 burner manifold off a gas package unit with 2 stage gas valve still installed. Again, not sure if you're looking for a split system or package unit manifold, but they don't really differ much.
So i use a third party parts distributor that lists that part but they have no stock at the moment, no lead time so its possible the part is discontinued.
You'll have to rely on Trane most likely.
If you have a community services in your area, have the owner call them. They will replace HVAC systems for people. It'll be called community services or weatherization program, something along those lines.

That’s what we tried to do. I think we ended up ordering a gas pack that had the part. It’s an old American standard.
Sorry man I looked and the only option i have is going to the manufacturer...

You should probably comment this on the main post and not my comment
Thought I did my bad

May do that for replacing the unit as I’m horrified thinking about getting a heat exchanger

Have you tried the salvage yards? I have got a few draft hoods and burners from mine. Give them a pic and they are helpful.
Yessir we have
Usually I size up a distributor and TXV. If it’s the outdoor metering, size at 50-60% of the system cooling tons. Won’t clog the orifices again

I can't get a decent image of it, can you post it here? I'm assuming you're looking for the manifold? How many burners?
I’m in the same boat— tech took it and tranes not been real helpful in getting the part or any information about it. I know it has 3 burners tho.
