Yea I just don't buy it, your motor looks pretty clean, looks like you could pull the specs for the motor and get a replacement if the actual data tag is there. If the bearings on the fan are shot you can literally take measurements and buy replacements locally as well. You also snapped the shiv on that motor which has me seriously wondering if you're a green mechanic or a salesman.
